What is the difference between "Delete" & "Forget about this site" when deleting a single item in the 'History' as a 'customising' procedure ?'c'

I am still using Firefox on Windows XP

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

  • I accidently hit "forget about this site" in my history, and it deleted all related sites to it. i desperately need to get them back. how do i retrieve the forgotten or deleted sites from history in firefox4 ?

i use the firefox4, and when i went to my history, i right clicked to delete a certain site, and accidentally hit the last option; (forget about this site) which deleted all the similar sites to the one i clicked! i.e. if it were facebook site, all facebook sites were gone..
'''how do i retrieve the sites i lost in history?'''

Tony, thnx for the prompt response,,
however, i didn't delete. i hit the below option which reads; "forget about this site" which is the last item in the list that appears when you right click any site in history.
i was told there are open source programs that can retrieve it.
'''how sure r u that they cannot be recovered?!'''

  • I use Firefox 'Most Visited' for easy access to the websites I use every day. I inadvertently clicked 'Forget About This Site' on a page that I need. That page is gone, apparently permanently, from my 'Most Visted' list. How can I get it back?

I use Firefox 'Most Visited' to access websites I use many times every day. I inadvertently clicked 'Forget About This Site' on a page listing that I need. That page is gone, apparently permanently, from my 'Most Visited' list. No matter how many times I re-visit the page, it will not show up on 'Most Visited'. How can I get it back? Thanks!

Most Visited is an automatically generated list that shows sites that you've visited.<br />
If you delete the history of a site then you have with a visit count of zero.<br />
To make that site reappear in that you you will have to visit that site often enough to make the visit count match the other sites in that list or clear the history from other sites in that list.
You can make the Visit Count column visible in the History Manager to see how many times you've visit sites.

  • I've clicked 'forget about this site', can I undo this by running the 'system restore' feature to recover my history?

I accidentally clicked 'forget about this site' and I'm looking for a way to undo this. I've heard there is no way to recover the history from a particular site once it has been deleted, but surely it leaves some kind of record in the system? I read an article that suggested running the 'system restore' feature which gives me the option of 'restoring my computer to an earlier time' before certain changes were made. Would this work?

no, updating the browser won't have an impact on your history - all your personal data will remain.
a general tip if you want to avoid data loss/highly depend on this data, is to back-up your firefox profile regularly: [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]

  • "Forget About This Site" Insanely CPU Intensive, Takes Forever/Crashes Browser -- Same for all history deletions

I have over 6 months of browser history, and I browse twitter a lot. I want to "Forget About" Twitter. Whenever I try to do that, Firefox just hangs, and becomes impossible to use. It's the same if I try to delete, say, everything from 6 months ago.
Deleting my browser history should NOT be a browser-breaking process. My rig is a Phenom IIx4 build, and I'm running off of an SSD. Maybe you guys have tied up all of the browser history into some complicated cache for the URL bar, I don't know. But this is pathetic. If I can delete 10GBs of crap from my HD within seconds, I should be able to delete my browser history.

    randomanon1234,
You posted here with PaleMoon in the Firefox support forum, and didn't specifically refer to which version of Firefox your problem is/was with. We assume that the support question is about the browser used to post here, unless that is obviously incorrect; like the thread was started on a Mobile device, or using IE or Chrome - then we ask, if the Firefox version wasn't stated along with the question.
You might think PaleMoon and Firefox are the same and that I am "splitting hairs", but "we" have had a discussion with and initiated by MoonChild of the PaleMoon project in the Contributors area over "us" referring to PaleMoon as a "3rd Party build" of Firefox. He insists that PaleMoon is a Gecko "fork", not a re-branded version of Firefox - IOW, a completely separate browser that uses much of the same code that is in Firefox. MoonChild also informed us that the PaleMoon project had their own support forum, and asked that we refer "his" users that come here, over to the PaleMoon project forum for support.
Now, if that constitutes my being "snarky", I apologize. If you are talking about problems with a version of Firefox that you used to use, you may provide feedback to Mozilla here - https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback
If you aren't using Firefox now because of that problem, this conversation isn't a "support topic".

  • In mail, what is difference between deleted and discarded mail

In settings, mail, what is difference between deleted mail and discarded mail? My google account on iPad does not remove mail that I have deleted from account using other devices. My other devices and google accounts don't have this issue. I've checked settings for account and can not isolate the cause. I'm considering deleting account from iPad and then adding it back in to see if that removes the 1000+ emails that have accumulated. I don't usually use iPad for email which is why they are mostly unread on iPad.

    this might help to understand
    Collection Classes
Often we have to deal with a set or group of objects, or values. Collection Classes are important structures that have a number of methods that allow objects to be added, retrieved, or removed from such collections.
Objects can be grouped in a collection like sets, lists, stacks, or queues.
A set is an unordered collection of elements, from which any item may be removed.
A list is an ordered collection of elements, from which any item may be removed.
A stack is a restrictive form of list that obeys a last-in-first-out (LIFO) rule.
e.g.     a stack of plates stored after being washed, then used again.
A queue is also a restrictive form of list that obeys a first-in-first-out (FIFO) rule.
e.g.     a queue at a bus-stop, where the first bus to join the queue is the first one to leave.
An important Java Collection class is the Vector class:
         java.util.Vector
This vector class is a simple list of objects, which can be referenced by an index starting from 0 (similar to arrays). The components of a vector must be objects.
    i.e. Vector: object0 object1 object2lastObject .. spare
    capacity                         ( size - 1)
So, a vector can grow as more objects are added. The size of a vector is how many objects are in the vector. The capacity is how many objects can be stored in the vector before it needs to expand again. When it needs to expand it normally doubles its capacity. The default capacity is 10.
    e.g.     Vector v1;          // declare v1 as a Vector object
         v1 = new Vector();     // create a Vector instance

  • EREC: Differences between Delete Registration & Delete External Candidate

    Hello Experts,
I am new to E-Recruitment. Can you please suggest me what are the exact differences between Delete Registration & Delete External Candidate as the first one locks his profile & the second one deletes his profile except that I don't see much difference between them. Please explain in which cases each of the tabs will be used & the relevance of them.
    Thanks in Advance..
    Vamsi

The main difference relates to how the data is handled in backend and whether all E-Recruiting objects are deleted immediately or mdeleted at a later time through the RCF_PERIODICAL_SERVICES process whereas for example the report RCF_DELETE_EXT_CAND checks the candidacies assigned to that candidate and for each of these objects which retention date is set to the requisition mapped.
The periodical serivce DELETE_DEREGISTERED_CANDIDATES can only delete deregistered candidates with no assignments. The deletion of assignments such as applications should be done within the deregistration workflow. There are some steps and methods available to withdraw and delete such relationships and unless there are open assignments the report would ignore the candidate.
One more thing to be aware of is that normally there is a delay maintained when a candidate is deregistered. So please check your settings in T77RCF_PS_RULES if the candidates you see have been deregistered within this time.In standard the delay is 180 days in which candidates are then deregistered. So if you deregister today, the system will deregister and delete all the candidate data only 180 days after today.
Hope it would help you further
    Sally

  • What is principle difference between 'payment run' & 'payment lot'

    Hello
what is principle difference between 'payment run' & 'payment lot' ?
by 'payment run'  I understand all incoming payments and outgoing credits are settled
but doesn't payment lot also do that.
    Thanks

    Anshoo,
Payment Lot = Records Payments made in bulk.
Payment run = Too records Payments made in bulk
    Difference
Payment lot = Usually u receive file from bank and post the items as a Lot <inbound file>
Payment run = U generate Payment run and send the file to the bank <outbound>
For Payment lot = Customer need not be on Direct Debit
For Payment run = Customer has to be on Direct Debit
For Payment lot = Payment can be thru chq/cash/cr card and Payment on account too can be posted
For Payment run = Payment is made only when the Customer is on DD  and you cannot make payment unless there is either Open Invoice or BB line item
    Hope this clears

  • What is a difference between MB01 and MBST  for GR Cancellation

    Hi,
What is a difference between MB01 and MBST  for GR Cancellation.
    Regards,
    Aditya

    Hi,
MB01 is used for doing the GR for collective PO at a single instance.
This transaction will be utilize when an individual needs to create a material document.  A material document can only be displayed or changed after it has been generated in the SAP system.  In a computer based inventory management system, the principal of "no posting without a document" applies.  A material document is generated and stored in the SAP system for every transaction that causes a change in stock.
As mentioned, when a goods movement is posted a material document is created.  It serves as proof of the movement   If the movement updates a G/L account; an accounting document is also created. The material and accounting document s are identified by unique document numbers
Once you have posted a goods movement, you cannot change material numbers, quantities or account numbers in the material document.  You can however use the Change command to enter additional or change text information such as comments or references.  To reverse the movement or change a quantity, a new transaction must be performed.
    MBST:-
Perform this transaction when a previously performed goods issue must be cancelled due to an error in data entry or other circumstances deem the previous transaction unnecessary.
    Prerequisites:-
A previously played transaction that requires cancellation.
An existing Material Document in SAP.
This Transaction will be utilized when an individual needs to cancel a material document due to a data entry error or other circumstances deem a previous transaction unnecessary. A material document can only be cancelled after it has been generated in the SAP system. A material document is generated and stored in the SAP system for every transaction that causes a change in stock.
Performing this transaction will "undo" a previous transaction by reversing individual line items in a material document or by reversing an entire material document. This transaction will reinstate the affected cost center, purchase order or stock location to the state they were in prior to playing the original transaction.
    Regards,

Which models? UMA refers to shared memory, and is not the actual chipset. So this is simply a case where the video card isn't listed (while in the 3150 model, it is).

I have just deleted Macintosh HD. Now I have reset my computer and there is just a flashing folder with a question mark. I don't know what to do, I'm really worried about this so please May you get back to me as soon as possible?

Why did you delete the hard drive?   If you delete the contents of the Macintosh HD you have no system to boot into.  That's what the flashing folder/? means.  What system were you using before deleting everyting.
You're going to have to install a system on the HD before you can boot.
