What is the difference between OCIEnvCreate and OCIEnvNlsCreate with utf16
because i find a oci sample code cdemouni.c,in this sample, use OCIEnvCreate with mode set OCI_UTF16,but OCIEnvNlsCreate also can set charset and ncharset OCI_UTF16ID,what is the difference between OCIEnvCreate and OCIEnvNlsCreate with UTF16?
First, OCIEnvNlsCreate() is recommended way of switching to UTF-16 mode.
Second, OCIEnvNlsCreate() uses new semantics for bind and define buffer lengths. With new semantics all lengths are in bytes. With old semantics,
UTF-16 string lengths are in codepoints, while other character sets use bytes.
You can get new length semantics with OCIEnvCreate() as well, by
adding OCI_NEW_LENGTH_SEMANTICS to the 'mode' flags.

What is the difference between READ TABLE ITAB WITH KEY and TABLE KEY
Hi Experts,
what is the difference between
READ TABLE <ITAB> WITH KEY <K1> = <C1>
<Kn> = <Cn> .
and
READ TABLE <ITAB> WITH TABLE KEY <K1> = <C1>
<Kn> = <Cn> .
Thanks
Akash.Hi akashdeep,
Nice question. I also tried to find out, but no much success. My opinion is that for practical purposes there is no difference.
It may have difference in case of searching, especially sorted tables. (binary search or normal linear search).
Case1: If our table is sorted table with defined key fields, and we give WITH TABLE KEY, then faster binary search is used.
Case2 : If our table is sorted table with defined key fields, and we give WITH KEY, (and no field contained in the keys), then normal linear search is used.

I'm shopping for an iPad. What is the difference between Wifi only and Wifi with cellular/3G?
Depending from what do you want. The only WI-FI iPad have wireless connection. The WI-FI plus cellular/3G have wireless connection and celular/3G connection to call everyone and the mobile data for internet but the software is same.

What is the difference between J2EE Engine vs WAS in SAP
Hello All,
What are the differences between J2EE engine included with BW 3.0B and the WAS 6.20 ? what are the limitations of J2EE engine in terms of functionality.
Thanks in advance
RaviHello Nitzan,
Thanks for the response. Just to clarify my question, There is a J2EE engine as part of BW 3.0B. What is the difference in terms of functionality of J2EE engine which comes bundled with BW 3.0B versus say WAS 6.20.
1. The J2EE engine which comes bundled with BW 3.0B, is it a run time or a full product where a java app can be developed and deployed to integrate with BW or do you need WAS for that purpose.
Thanks & regards

What's the difference between pc alert III and pc alert 4?
hi i'm running a K7N420 Pro bios 2.4 with an athlon xp 2000+ .
anyway just wondering what is the difference between the 2 stated softwares, since the msi download site doesn't seem to have any description on their functions.
also could someone please tell me what is the operating temperature range for the xp 2000+ using a standard amd issue fan?
cheers,
ronNot really. You can have music in folders that you do not designate MediaSource to monitor. These will not show up in your music library. Same thing is true in Windows Media Player. I know how WMP works--it creates a database of music files all over your computer (in the locations you tell it to monitor). It then uses this database of track and tag info to build the "library" you see in the player. I think Mediasource works in a similar way.
Theoretically, you can have folders of music on your computer that do not show up in either library because you told the player to look elsewhere for music files. -
What is the difference between P35 Neo2-FR PCB versions?
Hi there
I have a PC built with a P35 Neo2-FR motherboard, PCB v1.1.
I'm just about to make another PC up using this board and it has PCB v1.2.
What is the difference between these? are there other versions and what is the change log between these?
CheersHello Stonedofmoo,
there is no crucial difference between PCB v1.1 and v1.2. BIOS Versions are the same and there are no differences in functionality either.
The only difference I can see from looking at pictures of both revisions, are two extra capacitors next to the Realtek SoundChip on Rev. 1.1 boards.
If you want more detailed technical information, you will have to contact MSI directly and hope that they can give you a better answer:

What is the difference between P35 Platinum and P35 Neo2 FIR?
What is the difference between P35 Platinum and P35 Neo2 FIR?
P35 Platinum
P35 Neo2 FIR
BIOS is identical? The P35 Neo2 is FIR is actually listed as P35 Neo2 FR/FIR. It is what you could call a "modular mainboard". Even if it has the same PCB as the P35 Platinum mainboard, it doesn't necessarily mean, that it will always come with the same features.
If you look at the mainboard manual you will find that the ICH9R-Chipset and Firewire are mentioned as optional features. That means you will be able to purchase versions of this mainboard that will only have an ICH9 chipset and therefore won't support RAID or that don't have a firewire interface.
The abbreviation F,I and R have the following meaning:
F...Gigabit LAN
I... Firewire
R...RAID
In case you decide to buy the P35 Neo2 mainboard, pay close attention to the feature list. Even if the board is listed as FIR by a specific dealer, make sure it really comes with firewire and an ICH9R-chipset. If someone decides to sell the board with the full name that appears on the MSI Support Site (FR/FIR) he might be actually trying to sell a P35 Neo2-F trying to get a better price. -
What is the difference between Topic Keywords and Index File Keywords?
What is the difference between Topic Keywords and Index File Keywords? Any advantages to using one over the other? Do they appear differently in the generated index?
RH9.0.2.271
I'm using WebhelpHi there
When you create a RoboHelp project you end up with many different ancillary files that are used to store different bits of information. Many of these files bear the name you assigned to the project at the time you created it. The index file has the project name and it ends with a .HHK file extension. (HHK meaning HTML Help Keywords)
Generally, unless you change RoboHelp's settings, you add keywords to this file and associate topics to the keywords via the Index pod. At the time you compile a CHM or generate other types of output, the file is consulted and the index is built.
As I said earlier, the default is to add keywords to the Index file until you configure RoboHelp to add the keywords to the topics themselves. Once you change this, any keyword added will become a META tag in the topic code. If your keyword is BOFFO, the META tag would look like this:
<meta name="MS-HKWD" content="BOFFO" />
When the help is compiled or generated, the Index (.HHK) file is consulted as normal, but any topics containing keywords added in this manner are also added to the Index you end up with. From the appearance perspective, the end user woudn't know the difference or be able to tell. Heck, if all you ever did was interact with the Index pod, you, as an author wouldn't know either. Well, other than the fact that the icons appear differently.
Operationally, keywords added to the topics themselves may hold an advantage in that if you were to import these topics into other projects, the Index keywords would already be present.
Hopefully this helps... Rick -
What is the difference between "Invisible" (11g) and "virtual" index?
Hi
What is the difference between the "Invisible" index and "virtual" index?
Thanks
BalajiIndexes can be visible or invisible. An invisible index is maintained by DML operations and cannot be used by the optimizer. Actually takes space, but is not to be used as part of a potential access path.
AFAIK, a virtual index is created by the tools used in SQL statement access path tuning to provide an alternative for the optimizer to test. It does not take any real space as it is a pure in memory definition. -
What is the difference between the drop and create the index and rebuild index ?
Hi All,
what is the difference between drop and create index & rebuild index ? i think both are same...Please clarify if both are same or any difference...
Thanks in Advance,
rupBoth are same. Rebuilding an index drops and re-creates the index.
