  • What is the difference (& use) between CBP & MRP & FBP

    Dear Experts,
    Can anyone please tell me what is the difference ( & uses ) between Consumption Based Planning & Material Requirement Planning & Forecast Based Planning?
    how are these linked to each other?
    Instead of sending Big Documents,Please tell me in few lines in a Lay mans Language.
    I read these topics in Martin Murray Book (its the Bible of MM acc. to me) but still did not understand it.

    All are Used In Material Requirement Planning(MRP)
    Consumtion base Planning :-   Consumption-based planning procedures are straight forward materials planning procedures with which you can achieve set targets with relatively little effort. Therefore, these planning procedures are used in areas without in-house production and/or in production plants for planning both B- and C-parts and operating supplies.
    The type of order proposal which is automatically generated during materials planning depends on the procurement type of the material. For materials that are produced internally, a planned order is always created. For materials procured externally, the MRP controller has the choice between creating a planned order or a purchase requisition. If he decides to create a planned order, he must then convert it into a purchase requisition and make it available for the purchasing department.
    in MRP there are three Type
    1) Reorder Point Planning
         A) VB - Manual Reorder
         B) VM - Automatic
         C) VV - Forecast
    2) Forecast Based Planning :- Material planning is based on forecasted requirements. This is preferred when the future requirements might not be the same as the past consumption, but to forecast, the past values are considered.
    Like reorder point planning, forecast-based planning operates using historical values and forecast values as future requirements are determined via the integrated forecasting program. However, in contrast to reorder point planning, these values then form the basis of the planning run in forecast-based planning.
    The forecast, which calculates future requirements using historical data, is carried out at regular intervals. This offers the advantage that requirements, which are automatically determined, are continually adapted to suit current consumption needs. If, during the current period, material has already been withdrawn from stock, then the forecast requirement is reduced by the quantity of material that was withdrawn. This means that the quantity of the forecast requirement that has already been used is not included in the planning run again.
    3) Time Phase Planning :-  If a vendor always delivers a material on a particular day of the week, it makes sense to plan this material according to the same cycle in which it is delivered, but displaced by the delivery time. This is possible with the time-phased planning procedure.
    If a particular material is to be planned using this procedure, you must set the MRP type for time-phased planning and you must enter the planning cycle in the material master record. You enter the planning cycle in the form of a planning calendar in the Planning cycle field. You must also define a planned delivery time and the Lot-for-lot order quantity as the lot-size key.

    No selfjoin, just analytical functions.
    CREATE TABLe log_time
    (username varchar(20),
    LOGON_TIME timestamp,
    LOGOFF_TIME timestamp);
    insert into  log_time (username,LOGON_TIME,LOGOFF_TIME) values ('HR',sysdate,null);
    insert into  log_time (username,LOGON_TIME,LOGOFF_TIME) values ('HR',null,sysdate+1/38);
    insert into  log_time (username,LOGON_TIME,LOGOFF_TIME) values ('HR',sysdate+2,null);
    insert into  log_time (username,LOGON_TIME,LOGOFF_TIME) values ('HR',null,sysdate+2+14/20);
    commit;
    SELECT username,logon_time,logoff_time, my_logoff_time, my_logoff_time -logon_time,

  • What's the difference of coverage hole and pre-coverage hole?

    Hi All,
    Anybody knows what's the difference of coverage hole and pre-coverage hole?
    What I can find from Cisco doc is:
    "coverage holes are displayed as alarms, pre-coverage holes are displayed as events."
    "Gaps or "holes" in an access point radio coverage are the primary cause of poor audio. Client-detected Pre-Coverage Hole events provide ongoing monitoring to ensure that the customer is alerted regarding the existence of these coverage holes."
    It seems Pre-coverage hole is client-detected, coverage hole is AP detected? However I'm not sure.
    Another question is which trap includes pre-coverage hole alarm in WCS 7.0 alarm and event dictionary? I can only find several coverage related traps:
    LRADIF_COVERAGE_PROFILE_FAILED
    LRADIF_COVERAGE_PROFILE_PASSED
    However both of them have not say if it is for coverage hole or pre-coverage hole. Not sure which trap will be sent by the WCS to a configured notification receiver to indicate a pre-coverage hole event, for example:
    Minor         --X----       13:27:52 16/09/10    cisco-WCS     WCS    SNMP   <$2>   0x07 da 09 10 0d 1b 2c 05 2b 0a 00 :10.1.1.12 : Pre-Coverage Hole reported by 00:1f:3c:cd:c8:2a detected by 10.1.1.12: Pre-Coverage Hole reported by '00:1f:3c:cd:c8:2a' was found on Controller
    Your valuable input is highly appreciated!

    Hello !
    A pre-coverage hole is when a client stays for 5 seconds in a coverage hole. In other words, when a client is heard for some time at bad signal and it's not roaming, it must mean that this area is a coverage hole. This event is informational
    A coverage hole event is when several clients are stuck in the same coverage hole. Then the AP will increase its power if this is possible.
    The fact that WLC waits for several clients before raising the power avoids crazy behaviors of increasine/lowering/increasing/lowering.
    The parameters for coverage hole events are configurable on the RRM part of WLC (number of clients, etc ...)
    Nothing is configurable for pre-coverage hole as this is just "1 client only is reaching the coverage hole tresholds".
    Hope this clarifies.
    Nicolas

  • What is the difference of using Invoke and without invoke for invoking delegate references .

    Lets consider the below example,
    1. Invoke the delegate reference with Invoke keyword,
    public delegate double returndel(int r);
     private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                returndel ret = CalculateArea;
                double yt = ret.Invoke(4);
                MessageBox.Show(yt.ToString());
            public double CalculateArea(int r)
                return 3.14 * r * r;
    2.  Invoke the delegate reference without Invoke keyword,
    public delegate double returndel(int r);
     private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                returndel ret = new returndel(CalculateArea);
                double yt = ret(4);
                MessageBox.Show(yt.ToString());
     public double CalculateArea(int r)
                return 3.14 * r * r;
    What is the difference between these two ?
    Thanks and Regards

    No difference if you just want to call single function.
    Try the following:
    public delegate void DoMyWork(int i);
    static void DoMyWork1(int i)
    Console.WriteLine(i);
    static void DoMyWork2(int i)
    Console.WriteLine(i * i);
    static void delegateTest()
    DoMyWork work = new DoMyWork(DoMyWork1);
    work += new DoMyWork(DoMyWork2);
    work.Invoke(4);
    The output would be:
    4
    16

  • What is the difference using start condition and check function module

    what is the difference  between using start condition and check function module

    That's new to me, I thought a start condition was evaluated before the workflow started, and thus now workflow work item is available. That's why I think the only situation in which start conditions/check functions can't be used, is when the availability of a workflow log for investigation of exactly what stopped the workflow is a requirement.
    I suppose the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/4c/86bf43feca11d2a64f0060087a79ea/frameset.htm">SAP documentation</a> is in need of an update.

  • What us the difference of partition 1 and current in disk utility?

    Hi everyone,
    I bought a WD my passport slim , wanna use half for timemachine n half for file storage, but now only wanna for TM.
    I formated it by the erase function in disk utility, n then I click the Inbutton, n it show that partition is zero, why? Since there has one partition why it show zero?
    But in the partition tab, it  showed "current" n there has 1 partition and more to choose from, I wondering what is the difference between "current" and 1 partition , what I should do before I make the whole hard drive for TM, if I make one partition for TM n other for file storage will my hard drive become unstable?
    BTW, if I select the drive, the partition an remain but if I choose the partition of drive ,the partition tab disappear does this normal?
    And also if I format the hard dive to hfs+ encrypted the RAID, erase restore tab will disappear too in disk utility, does this normal too?

    But in the partition tab, it  showed "current" n there has 1 partition and more to choose from, I wondering what is the difference between "current" and 1 partition , what I should do before I make the whole hard drive for TM, if I make one partition for TM n other for file storage will my hard drive become unstable?

    It's very difficult to understand your post.

  • What's the difference of Network engineer and Network support engineer?:)

    Hello, i'm browsing job ads and some are offering network engineer job, and others Network support engineer... what's the difference between them? thanks..;)

    As both John and devils advocate have said you really need to look at the job requirements.
    Certainly here in the UK i have seen a lot of jobs advertised as network engineer jobs and then the actual requirements are some Cisco experience and some experience with Windows AD/Linux etc.
    A lot depends on the size of the company advertising the job eg. in my last company we had network operations engineers, network implementation engineers and network architects but a lot of smaller companies roll all those functions into one title.
    Also worth bearing in mind that a lot of the job specs are not necessarily written by network people so the requirements can be a bit random to say the least

    Hi Adithya,
    <u>***Reward if this helps**</u>
    <b>ARE documents:-</b> In India, that accompanies exports and deemed exports. The documents ensure that you do not have to pay excise duty on these transactions.
    There are two types of ARE documents, ARE-1 and ARE-3.
    You create all AREs using an outgoing excise invoice, which must have the appropriate excise invoice type.
    <b>ARE 1:</b> A form, in India, that companies have to fill out when they remove excisable goods from their manufacturing plants for export.
    This form exempts them from paying excise duty when they remove the goods from their premises.
    <b>ARE 3: </b>  A form, in India, that allows companies to sell otherwise excisable goods from their premises without paying basic excise duty. The buyer of the goods must be in possession of a deemed export license.
    The ARE-3 states what goods are being removed and which deemed excise license covers it.
    Regards
