What is the difference in the student/teacher edition?

I'm looking to buy Adobe CS5 Production Premium for my daughter who is a full-time student, is there any difference in the software except for the price?

You may not deactivate and sell it to anyone else, even another student, and you may not (I think) use it as the basis for a lower cost upgrade to a later version
You may use it for any purpose, even to make $$

  • What's missing in the Student/Teacher Edition?

I'm looking into purchasing the "Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium Student and Teacher Edition."  I imagine, because it's the Student/Teacher edition, After Effects (as well as the other Adobe programs) will be missing some features/tools, that are only available in the non-Student/Teacher edition.  What are those missing features/tools?

    Nothing is missing.
from the "Student and Teacher Edition FAQ":
"Adobe Student and Teacher Editions are the same full versions of some of  our commercial software titles, priced at discounts for students,  faculty, teachers, and administrators.          "

I have no idea how to find my serial number to launch Lightroom. I have the student teacher edition and I'm using a mac.

How did you purchase Lightroom? Download? Package?
Have you followed the instructions to verify that you qualify for academic discount?

  • Does the student teacher edition of photoshop and premiere elements 13 have to be renewed yearly?

Does the student teacher edition of photoshop and premiere elements 13 have to be renewed yearly?

that depends whether you were using the subscription cc version or the perpetual license version.
if you can open, for example,  pse, click help and if you see activate/deactivate you have the perpetual license version and do not need to renew.  if you see sign in/sign out, you have the subscription version and will need to maintain your subscription to continue to use your cc program(s).

  • Eligibility for the student teacher edition

I'm thinking of taking a computer course with the Distance Learning Centre and want to know if I'll be eligible to buy the student teacher version of the creative suite. I'll have an NUS Extra card but don't know what documentation I'll get from the centre to prove I'm studying or whether their centre is eligible as an educational institution under Adobe rules.

  • Does the Student & Teacher edition have OCR software?

Do I need to purchase the normal Pro XI edition for OCR software, or does the Student & Teacher version have it as well?

Both Acrobat XI Standard and Pro provide OCR capability; education edition or otherwise.

  • How do I locate my serial number from the Student & Teacher edition

    Jeff A Wright
I bought a copy of photoshop cs5 a while back and never loaded it. It is a student edition and I am still taking classes in which I need to use the program. I am no longer able to complete work in the class room so I do need to load it at this time. It looks like where I got into wants me to buy  another copy. How do I load my student verification so I can get to the right place.
    Thank you
    Dora

Dosaigeon I would recommend reviewing the I have a Student and Teacher Edition product section of Find a serial number.  The process varies depending on how you purchased the product and what country you are located in.

Always has been possible upgrade an STE version via a regular commercial upgrade.
    http://prodesigntools.com/difference-between-adobe-cs5-student-editions-vs-regular.html
"The traditional student editions cannot be upgraded to other education editions – but do receive Adobe’s discounted upgrade pricing to all regular commercial versions..."

  • I have the student teacher edition of CS5, I downloaded it first as a trial but now...

I can't figure out how to enter the serial number.  Any suggestions?

What happens when you launch any product? Does a Trial countdown screen display ( You have 30 days left)?
On that screen you'll have an option to enter serial number.
Coudl you post a screen shot of the screen that displays after you launch a product, let's say InDesign or Photoshop?

  • What's the difference between CS5 and CS5 Student & Teacher Edition?

    Hi,
I've been browsing the education shop for Photoshop, and noticed that there's both a Photoshop CS5 Extended and CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition. Also there's a £45 difference between the two. Is there any difference at all in the program itself, or does the Student & Teacher Edition just have the added restriction of not being able to resell it? Surely there must be something to have a £45 difference.
    Thanks in advance.

    Same exact program.
    Student teacher version onc
e you buy it, you own it and it cannot be transfered to someone else.
Also, from reading other posts, you cannot upgrade. But that may vary depending on country?
You also have to provide proof that you are a teacher or a student.

  • Student/Teacher edition for commercial use?

I received the student/teacher version of the CS6 Master collection from my school which I am currently enrolled at and I have recently started a production company with some colleagues and will be heavily using Premier Pro, After Effects and other applications for our business. We will be making money for our services so my question is will it be ok for me to use the student/teacher edition or will I need to get a CC subscription for commercial use?
    Thanks!
    Richard

is will it be ok for me to use the student/teacher edition
    Yes.
    Best explained here:
    http://prodesigntools.com/difference-between-adobe-cs5-student-editions-vs-regular.html
"Since Creative Suite 5, all Student and Teacher Editions can be utilized for personal as well as commercial use, for all academic customers worldwide. So yes, you can sell your services or anything you create, or use these products in developing a side business or online venture. And after graduation or completion of coursework, you can continue to use the perpetual software on your personal systems; there is no usage expiration and those tools will continue to work."
    Adobe's version: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html
"Can I use Student and Teacher Edition products commercially?
Yes, Student and Teacher Edition products can be used commercially on your privately owned computer. They may not be resold."

  • Moving Student/Teach Edition to new computer

    Hi,
I have the Student/Teacher edition of Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection CS5 (Mac).  Works great.  However, I have been informed that in the new school year, I will be receiving a new computer!  Am I permitted to deactivate and uninstall it from my old machine, then install and activate it on the new machine?
I read through the licensing agreement and can't quite tell through the legalese if this is permitted.
    Thanks.

Under the help menu in all of the CS applications you'll find a deactivate command. It will deactive the suite no matter which app you use it from.
You can then install and activate on your new computer.

  • Lightroom 4 - Registering Student & Teacher Edition

I need to register and obtain a password for Adobe Photoshop Lightroon 4 - Student Teacher Edition for my step-son (DOB: 23 Nov 1995), however the instructions given with the software are not clear to me about how I should do this.  I have an electronic copy of his Student Card.  Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the information about registering Lightroom 4: student edition.  I did eventually manage to work it out myself, however the information provided by Adobe was very confusing. Regards

Packaged with the student/teacher edition is a little yellow card.  On that card there's a web site referred to.  When you go to that website you will be asked to provide certain information to verify that you qualify for the student/teacher edition and discount.  When that is verified you'll be asked to enter the code included with your Lightroom package.  It looks like a standard serial number.  After that number has been verified, along with all of the other information you are asked to provide, you will receive an e-mail with your serial number that you use to activate Lightroom.
