What is the drive bay arrangement in my MacPro5,1?

I have a mac pro with an apple RAID card running RAID 5.  I opened it up to replace a drive, and I am suspicious of whether the drive bay sleds were put back in the factory order.  Can someone confirm where drive bay one should be located on a mid 2010 mac pro?  Is it toward the front or rear of the machine?
Thanks,
MVC

Thanks for the reply.  I just needed to know where bay 1 was.  The drive in bay 2 failed, and before replacing it, I wanted to ensure that I was pulling the right bay out, so as not to lose the whole RAID, if I had mistakenly pulled one of the three remaining drives.
Thanks again.

What is the driver program & why we require driver program?

In a Sapcript program the driver program plays an important role of calling the sapscript .
Driver program contains Business Logic of the Program and rest all values are passed to scriprt which is called through driver.
If it is based on output then standard forms called entry is called in the standard driver program .

  • What's the "Driver Type"?

The Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC is a Type 4 JDBC driver that provides highly scalable and reliable connectivity for the enterprise Java environment.
This text is found in the JDBC driver download page of microsoft website,I want to know, What is the "Driver Type"?

    Google is your friend here.
Type 4 means is 100% Java - no native code at all.
    That's what you want.

  • What is the driver name to be given for connecting with an MSAccess database?

I tried the 32bitODBC test on the MSAccess database. Works fine. My loaded java program trying to connect with the database is still not working. NullPointerException runtime error.
Maybe the driver that I've loaded is wrong viz. sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver.
What is the correct drivername to be given in class.forname("driverName")?
    Any clues?

what u've given as the driver name is correct. The NullPointerException comes because of problems with passing parameters from the front end to the database. It's receiving null parameter values. Check the parameters u r passing to the database. I think this will solve the problem.

  • I want to replace the drive bays, quesiton about the connected fans...

Curious to know if the bios will report any faults if I replace either of the 5.25 drive bays, losing the connected fans?  I dont need the ODD, and am thinking of fitting 2x 5.25 drive bay caddies in the top 2 bays.  If so, can these be disabled in the bios, or will the system halt during post awaiting a keyboard input?

    Hello,
I'm assuming you're talking about the TS140? The maximum supported drives on this system is 4. The cooling is the main reason for this. Lenovo does sell an adapter that has a small fan on the back of it to increase airflow inside the system. 5 drives were never validated on this system and if it were, I'm not sure how it would affect the temperature inside the chassis. It may work, but I would be concerned about the airflow / temperature inside the chassis with adding drives without an additional fan.

  • Optical on the Drive Bay?!

    Hello Guys!
So I was wondering what would happen if I plugged in something into the optical out slot in my fatalty dri've bay. This is with 5. speakers plugged into the soundcard itself and a microphone plugged into the "flexijack" slot.
Would it be able to tell that I want optical output only? Would it output both 5. and optical? Would my microphone work with optical? Do I have to plug my microphone into the annoying "Line In 2/Mic In 2"? Because I really would prefer not as most games automatically select Mic #.
    Thanks!

  • What is the driver for wireless adapter in solaris10

any body is able to configure the wireless adapter

Wifi is now available for Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris in experimental unsupported form. It works for open and WEP. For WPA, it works in some cases only. For details, see
    http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/wireless/
For me I use the Atheros driver, ath, on a IBM Thinkpad T40. I works with no encryption, but I use WPA with a long key, which doesn't work (yet).

  • What is the optimum setup arrangement for Time Capsule with an ATT Uverse Router?

I recently installed a Time Capsule in conjunction with my ATT Uverse router.  I read alot of information regarding the setup. Most articles sugessted to disable the ATT router and let the TC handle the router function.  I was hesitant to do so as I feared I might mess my network up.  What I wound up doing was set-up another network using the TC (bridge mode).  I set my iPhone/iPad/Macbook Pro & Apple TV to use the newly created network. My question is this, is this still an optimal setup and am I still able to take advantage of the N network range?

My question is this, is this still an optimal setup
You would need to perform major surgery to try to convert the Uverse gateway to act as if it were a simple modem, and even if it were possible, AT&T would probably not support it. Things should work fine the way you have them setup now.
The Guest Network feature is not available when the TC is configured in Bridge Mode, but otherwise you can use the TC to provide a high quality wireless access point for the network, which is controlled by the Uverse gateway.
am I still able to take advantage of the N network range?
Yes, the TC is providing a dual band wireless network, with optimal "n" speeds. The range on "n" wirelss is not necessarily better ("n" signals are weaker than "g" signals), but "n" does provide faster data transfer speeds.

  • Whats the average temperature of my drive bay for my G5? Its at 1832F

Whats the average temperature of my drive bay on my G5?
The drive bay is running at 1832 degrees F.
I just installed two new hitachi 2Tb drives in both the drive bay A and B.
They are independently at 94 degrees F and 104 degrees F.
The computer sounds lauder then before I installed the new drives.
However my fans are running at a normal 1800rpms.
I dont remember if my average drive bay was around 1800degrees F
If it is high is it because the drives are faulty?
I carbon copied my original 1TB drive with my OS on it to my new 2TB drive... was a faulty copy? (resulting in OS X running my fans slow)
    All help needed.

any reason why the computer sounds louder?
think the two new drives are putting out louder noise?
same brand of drives Hitachi deskstars - 7200rpms just i upgraded from 1TB to 2TB.
    Its like considerably louder.
I first thought it was my fans cause i thought the drivebay was runnign hot but when i noticed the rom on my fans are average i figured it had to be the drives

  • Help! How do you get the cd drive bay out of the Pismo?

I just bought a new LG CD-RW/DVD drive (hope it was a good choice), but I can't find any info on how to get the old one out and put the new one in.
There is lots of data on the four easy screws to remove for replacing the drive once it is out of the laptop, but no data on how to get to it while it is still under the keyboard and inside the Pismo?

    Little Fish,
A properly working lever will have resistance as it pushes the whole drive mechanism out of the bay. It looks like the lever opens about 45º on my Wallstreet before it starts to eject, then reaches a full 90º with the drive protruding about 1/2 inch...you can then grab the drive and pull it on out.
If the drive feels like it is not going to move after applying moderate pressure, disconnect all power and cables (only so you do not damage them), turn the 'book so the drive bay hangs over the edge of a table. You can now get your fingernails under the back edge of the drive on the bottom and help pull it out while using the lever.

  • What's the best way to start over?

    Hi everyone,
I bought a new internal HDD to replace my main drive that is failing. Other post of mine detail where I have been with issues but anyway...
Here is my current HDD set up:
Bay #1: The failing WD 1 TB Green (10.5.5) which is going back for a refund.
Bay #2: Newly bought/installed WD 1 TB caviar black.
Bay #3: Back up WD 1TB Green (10.4.10) that serves as a back up but I am using it to perform the formating at the moment since the other HDDs are unreliable.
Bay #4: Original WD 250 GB (10.5.5) that came with the MacPro but strated showing signs of failure.
As soon as I started up the Mac I got a message asking what I wanted to do with the newly installed HDD in Bay #2. I obviously pressed Initialize and Disk Utility openned up.
I chose the Option to name and to zero out the drive 1st with a 1 pass zero out. I am wondering though, would it have been better to Verify and Repair the new Disk 1st before zeroing it out with Disk Utility?

    Hi hatter,
Ok. So I slept on it...Sometimes a rest, a fresh point of view or a renewal of patience can help not to give up...
Here is what I did this morning:
    1) Tried booting from last night's Cloned main drive again but OS X 10.5.5 still won't boot from the new WD 1 TB Caviar Black (10.5.5) - Endless swirling wheel and aternating blue and light blue screen.
    2) I did a cold shut down again.
    3) I did a little swich in the drive bays:
    Bay# 1: WD 1 TB Black Caviar (10.5.5 - not booting)
Bay# 2: WD 500 GB Caviar SE16 (10.4.10 - partitionned in 1/2 to hold Windows XP on the 2nd partition).
    Bay# 3: WD 1 TB Green (10.4.10 - backup boot drive)
Bay# 4: WD 250 GB Caviar (10.5.5 - original drive that came with the MacPro but started the hole failing issues and was the main drive with all apps and files)
    4) I booted into Windows XP and used WD Lifeguard Diagnostics Utility and it reported that all drives are OK. But they're not !!! Argh !
    5) For the heck of it, I tried booting into the original failing WD 250 GB Caviar (10.5.5) that holds all original apps and folders, and I got in...*** !!!
    6) I booted back into the WD 1 TB Green back up drive (10.4.10) and decided to try and SuperDuper the original failing 250 GB drive to clone it onto the WD 1 TB Caviar Black and erasing the previous trial. It took about 1 1/2 hour.
    7) I booted into the Black drive again and I finally got in!!! Can I trust this?
