What is the expected Passbook behavior?

What should Passbook do when you open it?
I do not get errors like I saw in some of the other posts, but given all the marketing it received, I am left wondering if it works properly.
Perhaps nothing happens until I actually make a ticket purchase or store a coupon?
Here is what I see when I try to use it:
1) I open the Passbook app.
2) I see an info page that basically just describes what Passbook is for, and has an "App Store" button at the bottom.
3) I click "App Store" and see a handful of Apps, of which I've downloaded 4-5.
** The apps just installed on to my phone like any other app... nothing obvious stands out as Passbook specific.
4) I go back to Passbook, and it looks exactly the same as before... an info page with an App Store button.
Alright, well I assume it's not as broken as it feels and that purchasing a ticket will cause something to change in the Passbook UI.
So am I right about that?
I really think there should be a help button, or that I should be able to slide over to some explanation page describing the expected behavior.
Or maybe something simple like: "You have no tickets", to clue me into what the deal is.
(unless it really is just broken)
-Brian

Thanks, I downloaded the Target App to test out your suggestion and it worked like you described.
The other apps I installed did not have coupons or anything for me too see an "Add to Passbok" option and understand the intent.

  • What is the expected behavior in a zone after adding a new static route in Solaris 10....

    Hi Folks,
I have a few Solaris 10 production machines here at work and had a strange thing happen. I added a new route to these machines using the "add route <destination > <gateway>" command and my web applications running in the zones on these machines froze up. The applications that froze had no reason to do this as they have never talked to the machine in this new route. Here is the old route table via netstat -rn:

Greg- Dreamweaver CS4/Live View integration with BrowserLab allows you to send interactive states of a local site/design directly to BrowserLab (dynamic data, rollover/mouse interaction states, widget states, et al), and from behind firewalls no less- definitely a scenario we covered.  You can get the extensions (which require Dreamweaver CS4, of course) up on the Labs site: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/browserlab/

  • What is the expected behavior in iOS 7 when hitting send on an email with no wifi or cell connection being present?

What is the expected behavior in iOS 7.x when hitting send on an email with no wifi or cell connection being present? Also is the behavior designed to be any different if the user intiates airplane mode ahead of time?
We have a couple of users that claim in this situation the email will act like it sent in which they expect it will go out once a network connection is restored.  They then come to find the recipient never recieved it and that it does not show in sent email.  Its merely lost and they claim its also not in drafts.
I would hope the expected behavior would be that it would either retry sending once network connectivity is restored or at least warn that it needs to be saved as a draft since no connection is present.

It should show "X unsent messages" at the bottom of the mail app.
It also should create an outbox where the unsent emails will queue up, but this could also vary on the email provider.
Once you re connect to a network, it should just send the messages

  • If JailbreakDetectionRequirements are set on a PlayRight, what is the expected outcome on a PC/Mac?

I'm curious if I need to make our license server look at the incoming client information and conditionally turn this on.
If a license with jail break detection turned on is sent to a PC or Mac, what is the expected behavior? I assume that you'd allow playback since those devices can't really be 'jailbroken', but it would be great to have some clarification.

The jailbreak detection won't do anything for PC and Mac. It's just for mobile devices, like iOS and Android devices.

The document here lists the monthly duty cycle at 125,000 to 200,000 pages per month and the devices typically have a one year warranty.  Based on this I would expect at least 1.4 - 2.4 million pages for printer life with appropriate maintenance.

What is the expected useful life of a new iMac?

There are few if any life-limited components in new Macs.
In very approximate terms Macs become unsupported after about five years and functionally obsolete in about seven years. This has held true since about 1984 (my first Mac still works). Buy as much RAM as you can afford.

  • What is the expected SWF to AVI file size ratio?

I have a 3.5 minute movie that is mainly stills and voice over. The published swf is 3.4 Mb.
When I publish it to AVI, it comes out at:
    260 Mb using Cinepak codec
    2,500 Mb using MJPEG compressor
3,000 Mb using Microsoft Video 1
    Is this expected behavior?
Is there anyway to reduce these?
    Thanks

From reading http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/03/tips_for_publish_to_avi_in_ado.html I discovered that the XviD Codec is one of the better ones. This results in a filesize of 60Mb (using the same Captivate project).

  • RequestDispatcher -  What is the expected behaviour defined by the spec

    Hello,
I just try to understand the servlet specification correctly.
I don't understand what should happen when I try to access an not-existent resource by means of the RequestDispatcher.
That's the way my source code looks:
    RequestDispatcher rd = servletRequest.getRequestDispatcher(jspName);
    try {
    if (rd != null) rd.include(origRQ, desc.getResponse());
    } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } I see following possibilities:
    1.
The RequestDispatcher is not null and invoking the method include
on the RequestDispatcher will lead to a 404 Http error.
    2.
The RequestDispatcher is not null and invoking the method include
or forward on the RequestDispatcher will lead to a ServletException (the
root exception of this is a FileNotFoundException)
    3.
    The requestDispatcher is null
I don't see anything about this in the servlet specification.
Maybe I just don't find it. What should be the behaviour defined
    by the servlet spec.
    Any help appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your answers.
So this means this behaviour differs from servlet container to servlet container and it is not determined by the specification. I asked this
question mainly, because I observed different behaviour for two different servlet container and I wanted to clarify which behaviour
    is the correct one.
In ServletExec I got back a 404 error. In Iona's servlet engine I got
back a ServletExecption (root cause is a FileNotFoundException).

  • Introducing a custom Password policy to expire passwords. odsee 11g - what are the expected results

We have left the default Password Policy untouched. As a default password aging is off. Our DS compatibility mode is now DS6 so we can add Password Policies with max age!
Some users need to have their passwords changed regularly due to political reasons.
We have introduced a custom Password Policy which has a pwd_Max_age value of 180 days and allows the user to Change Password. Entry is cn=Custom Pwd Policy for ABC,dc=mycorp,dc=com
Ok. Now we get confused by the behaviour of this ODSEE 11g server. Now, we are ADDING a new custom Password Policy to just a few selected users!
    1. When we add the Policy to the user by setting the passwordpolicysubentry attribute = "cn=Custom Pwd Policy for ABC,dc=mycorp,dc=com"
    - Nothing seems to happen.
    - WHEN IS THE PASSWORD EXPIRED?
    2. After we change a password for a user who has the passwordpolicysubentry attribute, he gains a new attribute pwdChangedTime
    - IS THIS THE ONLY TIME THE EXPIRY CLOCK STARTS TICKING? *AFTER* THE PASSWORD IS CHANGED?
    3. Is it true, that if a user never changes his password, even if he gets the new custom password policy applied, his password never automatically expires????
I just cannot work out what is supposed to happen. I would have hoped that at the very least, the password begins to expires as soon as he gets a Password Policy with pwd_Max_age set.
How is ODSEE 11g designed/supposed to function.
    Help!!!!!
    *HH

Sylvain ,Many thanks for your reply and suggestions. Always good to have a choice!
So it seems the only way to get the password aging clock to tick is for the password to be changed after having the password policy applied.
Option1 is not really an option although it certainly would make the users change the password and set up the password aging...
The main difficulty with odsee 11g  (Version 11.1.1.7.0) is that pwdChangedTime is a system read-only attribute linked to a modification to userPassword attribute, I cannot use ldapmodify to add/modify the pwdChangedTime attribute.
I was amazed that I can read/store the userpassword as the base64 string and replace the userpassword attribute with this value using ldapmodify. This is very easy (and works!) but will cause the pwdChangedTime attribute to contain the same time for all users. I can imagine helpdesk loving it when everyone calls them in 6 months time.
Using the LDIF backup/restore utility looks the best option, if it succeeds. At least we can randomize the actual value of pwdChangedTime with this approach.
    Mercy Buckets.
