I am curious as to how many others have been experiencing the same issue. When I googled the error, it seemed like it was happening extremely often with many people.
We all love their products, but they always come with a lot of issues and horrible customer support.

My Iphone 4 is telling me the same thing and I believe I figured out what the problem is. I had some fraudulent charges on my itunes account, so I call my bank and disputed the charges. Right after I did that, I started getting the message "Your apple ID has been disabled." I just realized today that the charges are not fraudulent, they are "in app purchases." One of my daughters downloaded the game Top Girl which is FREE, but in the game Top Girl you use money in the game to purchase things. It just so happens that the money you use to purchase things is real money MY Money!!!. My daughter thought she was using play money in the game and had no idea she was using real money. She spent $106.00 buying stuff. Now I have to call the bank and tell them to release the hold and pay Itunes. I'm hoping this solves the problem. Depending on why it's been disabled, you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com

Got it sorted. AN e-mail to teh support centre got me three replies, two reasuring me that someone os working on it and the third giving me the information that the ID is enabled again and ready to use. All within 24h. Of course without any information as to why the problem came up in teh first place. At least it was swift action.

Hi David , Contact your bank they may have disabled your credit/ debit card because of an unusual amount of small purchaches of APPS , ALBUMS etc....... Has your name been changed if so create a new Apple ID and RELAX. BANKS TREAT THIS AS FRAUD they may need you to confirm you purchased them APPS.

You could always try getting in contact with iTunes Support via expresslane.apple.com to see if they can look into your account and see why it is disabled.

When I try to log in to my iTunes store account i get the following message:

I've waited a while and tried again (as in a week or longer), and the account is still disabled.
Can anyone tell me how to get the ID enabled again, since as of now I'm unable to buy / download any content from the store. Which makes my iPhone a sad phone
My assumption is the problem is i have a rather desirable account name: i am constantly receiving notifications of failed logins to my account, presumably by scripts trying to hack it. But i have a secure password, so no problem. But perhaps this has led to the account being deactivated?
Any help / or reactivating the account would be great.

I have been trying to download items from itunes store, but keep getting the error message "your Apple ID has been disabled. I changed the password and updated billing information, but still get this error message. This involves free apps which I was trying to install.

I am having the same problem. I went through the process to have the ID unlocked (Changing password etc.) and was able to log in here on the website to post this message. HELP!!!! - "Your Apple ID has been disabled"

When I try to download and install an app on my iphone 5, I am getting the following message. "Your Apple ID has been disabled".. I went through the iphone settings and used iforgot to reset/change my applie ID. After the reset/change I could go via my PC and sign on to the Apple Store but I am still not able to download and install an app on my iphone 5. I still get the message "Your Apple ID has been disabled". Does anyone have a fix for me?

When iTunes provides the user with the message that your apple id has been disabled this is giving the user the message that for whatever reason the apple id login has been disabled from using the itunes store or app store.
Please contact apple support at 800MYAPPLE and ask for itunes support to enable your apple id. IF there is an issue with an outstanding balance with the itunes store you will be asked to take care of this prior to having your apple id login in enabled. You will not know specifically what the issue is until you contact the itunes store.
