I was really excited to see the free update to the opertaing system and pretty happy when things like iBooks and a new version of iMovies downloaded to my Mac. However, I am still trying to wrap my head around the reasonsing behind the podcast function being taken out of Garageband. I am in the process of getting two podcast off the ground for my businesses and have been having a lot of fun getting things together for them. I am currently 6 episodes in and was pretty floored to see that not only was the podcasting functionality was gone from Garageband but it won't even support old cast that I put together. Luckily, I did find the old version (6.0.5) still installed and wen't ahead and deleted the new version I downloaded. That seems like a pretty significant piece to take out of an application without a note as to why or if there will be something else to replace it. I know a lot of people that use GB for podcasting why would Apple ditch this in a new version without a word and not offer an alternative?

Why not keep both version? GarageBand 10.0 does not need much additional space and it is useful to add drumers and arpeggiators.
and if you have iOS 7 devices, you will not be able to open Garageband projects from iPad or iPhone in GarageBand '11.
I hope, some essential missing features will be added by later updates, and then it will be good to have a working GarageBand 10.0 copy installed.
That Apple let GarageBand 6.0.5 installed, is a clear indication that the new version is considered to be still under developement.

Swiping up from the bottom of the screen with four fingers did not bring up the app preview. A single press on the home button still brings me back to the home screen, but a double press of the home button does nothing following updating to 7.1 Given that, when I added a software home button as suggested by DIAVONEX, I found that all of the apps WERE still open! So thank you DIAVONEX, and you should be careful, bobseufert, as your information was inaccurate.( I did try turning it off and that didn't change anything. ) I don't really want a software home button on my screen, but I guess I will use it until either there is another update to resolve this glitch or someone else identifies a quirky setting that I inadvertently activated...

I have an older iPod Touch, Model MC086LL with an IOS software version of 4.2.1. Many of the applictions which I had previously purchased were recently upgraded and they no longer can be loaded on my iPod. What is the fix?
Reload older versions from iTunes on a computer, or buy a newer device.

Songs in music library downloaded from a CD and synced to my old IPOD are not recognized by my new IPOD classic. What is the fix?
If you are using automatic syncing with your old iPod, select that iPod in iTunes and go to its Music tab (next to Summary). Note how this Music tab is set up. Maybe you can do a screen shot.
Now, select the new iPod in iTunes. Go to its Music tab, like you did for the old iPod. Set up the new iPod's Music tab exactly like the old iPod, and Apply the change.
The music on your new iPod should now match the old iPod. -
My iPad is logged into my iCloud account, but my wife's iTunes. I have uploaded video footage from my iPhone to my iCloud. It appears on the iPad but is not accessible in iMovie? What's the fix?
You shouldn't have to change your iTunes account to not have to purchase it twice. If your devices are using different iTunes IDs, just purchase it on one device, then import it to your iTunes library by connecting the device to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. Once in iTunes, you should be able to sync it to your other device (assuming both devices are syncing with the same iTunes library). (And even if they were syncing with separate libraries, you could use Home Sharing to copy the app from one library to the other.)

Lightroom 5 file edited in photoshop cc 2014 does not appear back next to original after save. Is anyone else having this issue? If so what is the fix. The edited image appears back in lightroom in a new folder.
I'm performing a normal "Save", not "Save As". Work flow I'm using is as follows: Select photo in Lightroom 5.7 >" Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014 > (after working on photo is PS) > Save > close PS. Photo returns to Lightroom 5.7 in a new folder rather than next to the original. Prior to purchasing the monthly plan and upgrading to PS CC 2014, I performed this same work flow using Lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop CS6 without any issues.
Just for fun... I attempted to move the edited file back into the original folder. I received a prompt that said the file already existed in the original folder, however I can't see it except the new folder that LR created. I tried several different sort orders, etc without any success.
*** Follow up: Was unable to resolve the issue using Photoshop CC 2014. Uninstalled PS CC 2014 and went back to using Photoshop CS6. Return trips from LR 5.7 to Photoshop is now performing as it should: returning edited photo back to the original folder in LR 5 and placing next to the original image.
Should anyone have a suggestion on getting Photoshop CC 2014 to do the same, I would love to be educated.

When I try to download iPhone OS 5.1.0 on my PC I get this message "stopped (err = -3259)"and says it timed out at the server after the entire download. I have tried 3 times, it takes about 8 min. to download the 790.7 MB file. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix?

I recently upgraded to Mac OS X. I haven't tried to access anything in iWorks 09 since the upgrade, until now. I get an error message when trying to open any of the iWorks 09 applications. What's the fix for this?
Follow Sonicray's advice and when you post try to give as much info about your Mac, your OS, etc... Fill out your Profile info.

I can't play any purchased movies. Sounds like it is the 6.0 update. So what is the fix? Am I just stuck not being able to use my Apple TV until...?
Sorry I can't help but I have potentially a similar problem.
We have an Apple TV 3 and after the most recent software update (potentially coincidental timing), our purchased movies & TV shows will no longer play for our US account. We can play previews but that's it. We also tried renting a new movie but that didn't work either. No error messsage, just select play, it thinks about it, then returns you to the same screen again.
Any help greatly appreciated.

RonMy husband has the same phone, we purchased them at the same time. I sent him the same photos in the same email that I downloaded them from and on his phone they show up with the normal higher resolution. Is it possible that there is something wrong with my iPhone or is there a setting that can be changed? I'm still learning to use it. All my other photos are of normal resolution. Does this make any sense to anyone?

As an FYI: Adobe discontinued developing the Spry framework last year. And Spry was removed from DW CC. You can keep using Spry if you wish, but most of us have switched to other solutions that work better in IE10 and Touch Screens.

I just upgraded from Acrobat Reader X to Acrobat Standard XI. Now when I attempt to print e-mails from Outlook 2010, Outlook crashes and becomes "not responding". I have removed all Adobe software from my machine. Run a repair on Outlook 2010. Reloaded Acrobat XI, and still the MS application hangs up. I have spent WAY TOO MANY hours screwing around with this. I work at a multi-national company....technical... blah, blah, blah,... $$$, time..., infrastructure...., blah, blah, blah. I have read some about this problem in the forums already... it seems this problem has been in the light.
Stop holding up the show.... society has enough problems. We're supposed to be the leaders!
What is the fix, or at least, what is the work around.Not sure how to do this except to reply to myself.

The reading pane of my Mail "inbox" has disaappeard; what's the fix?
This indicates the account's Inbox mailbox has an "overstuffed" mailbox issue which means the mailbox has some corruption.
All email clients have limits and although an "overstuffed" mailbox issue can occur at any mailbox size, it is more likely to occur depending on the number and size of message attachments contained in a mailbox and especially as a mailbox approaches or exceeds 1 GB in size for Jaguar/Panther Mail and 2 GB in size for Tiger Mail.
Since an account's Inbox mailbox is usually the most active mailbox, it is not a good idea to use an account's Inbox mailbox as the final storage location for all messages received that are not deleted. You can/should utilize user created "On My Mac" mailboxes to sort received messages by category that you need to save. This can be done by creating rules to automatically sort received messages to user created mailboxes by category or transferring messages manually.
That being said, quit the Mail.app first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > INBOX.mbox.
This should be for the account named folder within the original Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail, not from the backup.
Move the INBOX.mbox to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, a new (and empty) INBOX.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder when receiving the next message with this account. This will allow the Mail.app to function properly again and not risk losing any new messages received while working on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop.
Control-click on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.
List the package content file names and size of each here.
This information is required to determine the next step to take to recover all messages contained in the mailbox. -
after update to Firefox 19.0.2 supposedly optimized for aol, browser seems to work fine except for aol mail.
AOL mail opens, however after selecting new mail it will not allow one to open a new email by double clicking the message as is a normal way to open an email. It can be opened by right clicking the selected email message and selecting open in new window; however this mail cannot be replied to, saved or any other option as the option buttons on top of new window are inoperable. What's the fix- never was a problem in earlier versions of FirefoxClear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
