What is the icon in the toolbar to the left of the Bluetooth icon?th

There appears to be a new icon in the toolbar on my iPad. It is located to the left of the bluetooth icon. It appears to be a padlock within a clockwise-oriented arrow. Anyone know what this represents? Thx

Screen Orientation lock you can remove that by using the button next to the volume.

Your basic panel must have been accidentally deselected.
Simply right-click on one of the other panels e.g. Tone Curve and choose basic again - see image below.
You can also select solo mode, if you prefer to work in one panel at a time with the others collapsing automatically when you click on another tab.

Where are you talking about the Desktop?
I don't see where it is possible to set both Snap to Grid and By Kind they seem to be mutually exclusive.
And then
If I have Snap to grid set I get the behavior you describe. If I have By Kind set the icons stay together and close up the space from the deleted icon.

Help me please I really messed up,I was messing around with my fathers MacBook Pro 5,4 Intel Core2Duo 2.5Ghz and I deleted the recovery partition aswel as anything else left on the drive,so now when it starts or turns on all I see is a folder with a Quest

In my case it was Codec-C causing the problem - go to Tools|add ons in Firefox and delete Codec-C (100% malware - won't affect anything else apart from solving this problem).

At home, this is not an issue. I don't know why it's different here at work--same installation, same settings (as far as I can tell).

I have a NoScript add-on icon in the corner, which works fine. If I add a GreaseMonkey icon from the Customize menu, the "Icon and Text" appears for that icon, like the Icon and Text from the browser controls (Home, stop, etc). Other add-on icons also show Icon and Text (S4E, for instance). NoScript is the only one I've found so far which collapses down to just an Icon.
This leads to the status (add-on) bar having a much larger height than I like. Essentially what I want is for only the Icon to appear in the Status bar (Add-on toolbar), while keeping Icons and Text in the Browser controls. My current workaround is simply removing the other add-on icons from the status (add-on) toolbar, but that takes away the ease of toggling and setting options.
Please tell me if I can provide you with anything else, and thanks for your help.

Surely there must be some UserChrome.css that will solve this problem. Something like this:

Unfortunately that does not work. I probably have the button text item name wrong (there is a pound sign before addonbar but it doesn't show in this posting).

Well it's actually rather hard to explain and isn't 100% as to what my question asked, I'd rather show a picture.

If you hide the menu bar (View > Toolbars > Menu Bar) and maximize the Firefox window then you should only have one toolbar with the Firefox menu button and the Tab bar.

I upgraded Norton at their suggestion to Norton 360 Version 6.2.0.9
Before the Norton safe web toolbar was working fine
After the update it does not show / work and the Norton Vulnerability Protection 10.1.1.8 - 3 under Firefox Add-on Extension is no longer compatible

JavaScript in the PDF can hide toolbar buttons

You mentioned in http://forums.adobe.com/message/2161074#2161074 that "JavaScript in the PDF can hide toolbar buttons."
According to the Javascript docs for Acrobat 7 the App.HideToolbarButton function only runs at AppInit. Which means that I would have to have the javascript in a file. How can I do that from within the document? Is there another way to to do set this from our web application?

Perhaps that's simply a feature that isn't supported by presenting a Captivate intended for the web from inside a PDF?

Where is the "setting mouse options" toolbar in 5.5?

I just upgraded from Captivate 4.0 to 5.5. I used the "setting mouse options" toolbar in 4.0 all the time but I can't find it in 5.5. Am I able to turn it on in 5.5? I'm looking for a way of telling at a glance if a slide has mouse sound on it or not. Is this still in 5.5?

LOL, only you can truly decide if any upgrade of any software is "worth it".
Indeed, Captivate 5 and 5.5 are advancements in some areas and a return to the dark ages for other areas. So is the nature of upgrades, eh?
All I can do is to suggest you file a Wish Form to advise Adobe that you found the option useful and to vote for bringing it back. I say "vote" intentionally, because using the Wish Form it is actually a voting system. The more of these they see requesting a specific feature, the higher the odds that the request will eventually be taken seriously.

How do I remove the Skype icon from the desktop that is on my left on the taskbar ?

Are you trying to remove Skype entirely, or just get rid of the tool tray icon?
IIRC, you get that icon as long as Skype is running in the background. There's a checkbox in Skype options that will keep it from running on startup. That will eliminate the icon but you won't get notified for incoming calls.

In the latest version of Firefox, I can't get the "Readability" website to work

This website is handy, because it converts online text into a format that is much more readable. To get it to work, you are to drag the "Readability" icon to the web browser's toolbar. This worked in the prior versions of Firefox, but not in the current one. This website works fine, for example, with Chrome.

You can find the toolbar Home button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
If you do not see that button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.<br />
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
You can drag the Home button from its current position at the right to the position at the left of the location bar if you want that button in its old position.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? If you have not already, be sure to update 12 to 12.1, using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
But to the immediate questions, assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
1. No, it is what it is. But, are you applying the same transition each time? If so, then highlight/select all the clips involved (all at one time), then Timeline Menu/Apply Default Transition will do just that for the highlighted/selected clips.
To highlight/select more than one clip at a time, hold down the Shift key of the computer main keyboard and then click on each clip that you want in the group selection
or
with your mouse cursor draw a rectangle around the clips that you want to select
2. Are you using the Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Expert workspace Pan and Zoom Tool? Or the pan or zoom presets under fx Effects/Presets/? With those you can do pan or zoom, not pan and zoom.
Or, are you in the Elements Organizer 12 Slideshow Editor using the pan and zoom effect there? Or, are you using keyframing the Motion Scale property for zoom and the Motion Position property for pan?
Are you asking about photos with landscape or portrait orientation?
The pan and zoom tool does one photo at a time.
Have you read the Adobe documentation on the Pan and Zoom Tool?

Bluetooth icon in menu bar

hi,
recently, when i reboot my MBP, the bluetooth icon isnt present when i log back in.
Before i reboot, the icon is there, and when I am logged back in, and find its not there, i check the bluetooth preference pane, and see that the 'Show bluetooth status in menubar' item is checked, but it still isnt there.
Has anybody had problems like this?

Alex, I have almost given up on trying to completely control the status bar. And I just notived that my Bluetooth icon isn't there - yet I am using Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
ShapeShifter used to be the culprit - it changes the status bar's contents.
But I cannot even get the Apple clock and AirPort Status icons to stay up there.
Operationally, all is well. But I don't have a good answer for you.
I have been told that the file...
com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
...is the commandfile for what's up there. I have deleted it and tried to maintain sanity - to no avail.
