What is the imap calendar? - Never saw it before...

I've used iCal any synced it with my iPhone for years now and the only calendars that where ever on either were ones I created. However, there's now something called imap (seems to have arrived around the time of iPhone OS4), which my phone and iCal seem to want to use as a default sometimes when I'm entering events. What is this thing? Why is it there? Do I need it? Can I get rid of it? Why did it suddenly appear?
Thanks,
Ben

You are likely using an e-mail account with an IMAP server (Gmail, Yahoo, or your own). I know mine creates a new calendar if I attempt to create a To-Do for a Mail message in one of those IMAP mail accounts. If there's nothing in the calendar, it can be safely deleted, but make sure none of your events are set to it, because they will be erased if you delete the calendar.

    Someone put it on there.
If you don't know it, you can restore your phone from the computer to which it was last synched to remove the password,
If that computer is not available, you'll have to put the phone in DFU mode and restore it as a brand new device.

What is the Home calendar on icloud?

It must be a calendar you created in your iCloud account.  If you want to change the name to something else, double-click it and type the name you prefer.

  • What is the difference between Never and Not supported

What is the difference between Never and Not supported?
Also I want to know what are all the transaction attibutes are supported by MDB and why?

Never- If the bean is called in an existing trasaction an exception is thrown.
NotSupported - Methods always execute outside the transaction context. If a transaction is started when this method is called, this method is executed outside the transaction. The initial transaction is continued after the method exits.

  • What are the differnet calendars for ical

I am new to using the iCal calendar and I am trying to understand the differeneces in "work", "home" and "calendar". I also have some calendars I am subscribed to along with a google and icloud calendar. I am not sure what the diferent calendar labels do? I have and iPad and iPhone that I try use also. This is getting crazy trying to understand where to add things based on the device I am on.
    Please help?
    Thanks

The different calendars allow you to associate an event with your personal (home) life, work life, etc., and color codes the event so you can easily see its association.

  • What is the iPad calendar?

Why is there an iPad calendar? and what is it?  I wanted just my calendar from my Outlook calendar, so this just makes redundancies and I'm not sure where it came from

    Hello Nancy
The iPad calendar you see is a default calendar that is there when the iPad was first set up. If you do not want it there, click on Calendars located on the bottom middle when in the App. Tap Edit and select the calendar, then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Calendar.

  • What is the category "calendar"supposed to do?

    Hi,
Been meaning to ask this for ages. I guess when iCloud got up and running and we all switched over to it, I realized there was a new category in my iCal category list. One that I didn't create. It's called "Calendar". Can anyone explain what it is, why it's there, what ends up in it if I'm not actually assigning it to any of my events (since I already created the categories I use/need long ago).
    Thanks for your help.

Carolyn - but as I have the "Use F1...etc" set in Prefs I need to use the Fn key as well to do this.
Tuttle - I know the correct way to rename files in OS X, F2 is just a habit from using Windows for years (I still use it day-in/day out at work) but its action in OS X is annoying as it changes the selected file/folder so I was just wondering what use the action it performs is supposed to be for.
Seems, from what mende1 says, that it (and F3) aren't supposed to have any action and that the action it does have seems to be random rather than Apple having mapped the key to a null operation.

  • What is the best calendar app to use that will sync with an android phone/ google calendar .

I would like to know the best calendar to use that will sync with my android phone.   It needs to have good reoccurring options.  I need to edit the calendar from the phone or iPad.

  • Never saw this before...

I opened up a folder in users>me>library>mail and found two folders, a mail and a pop-server folder. In the mail folder, I saw all kinds of old emails in an Inbox and Deleted Messages icon. How come these really old emails are still in my computer's memory? They don't show up at all in my regular email that I use daily.
    Thanks for your help!

I have similar directories for my current email accounts, and they contain old email as yours do.
I recall that the mail app was upgraded significantly (perhaps for Tiger?) and these are probably the remnants of how the old mail app stored mail.
The directories, though, do have content that is updated by the current Mail app (note that the dates of some files are recent) so I'd be cautious about deleting anything.

  • I am trying to set up a new site and dreamweaver is incorporating all the files in my drive into the site agout 9GB what do i do it never did this before version cs3

You need to set up a site definition before you can use DW...

Without that critical first step, as you've seen, the program gets a little cranky with you.

  • TS3274 After updating to the latest version of itunes I now have no audio .  The volume button is all the way up and it says "headphones".  I never saw that before and can't find where to change it.

I updated to itunes 7.02 yesterday and now I have no audio.  The side switch says mute or headphones.  How do I listen to anything without headphones?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • What is the Inbox calendar

and how can it be deleted??? (Whenever I delete it, it reappears automatically...)
    Thanks.

This is driving me nuts too. I have two (2!) Inbox calendars - one On My Mac, and one in my MobileMe calendars. They seem to be auto-generated by Mail, because they seem to show up every time I accept a calendar invitation inside of an email. However, the Inbox that is On My Mac does NOT sync with my iPhone, and nor can I reassign the events to a different calendar. This is stupid, and I am hoping others will chime in with some advice or suggestions.

  • Is the Mozilla Humble Bundle pop-up a scam? Never saw it before today.

I saw a strange pop-up today when I logged onto my computer and loaded up Firefox. It was on the usual sign-in / search page. It transformed the typical login page to an 80's style graphic, and has a blockish looking character telling me to 'click here'. It looks like a fraud and my be a virus, but want to know for sure. Is Mozilla sending this out and promoting some kind of "Humble bundle" of gaming software?
    Thanks.

I was going to say Mozilla has nothing to do with Humble Bundle. However it looks like it is a new thing.
