  • What is the Highest Capacity SATA Drive for a REV A G5

What is the Highest Capacity SATA Drive for a REV A G5 (SP 1.8 with 8 RAM slots), it came with a 160, I know 250s work... will anything higher?
I am looking at this if nothing else, it seems to be a nice 250,

Hitachi 400GB was trouble even on SeriTek controllers. Like the early 7K250, it was not a native SATA drive. Early SATA drives were often using Marvel or some other bridge on PATA drives. The T7K250 and 7K500, or Maxtor are fine. WD has some new drives, one model is optimized for RAID-only firmware.
Whatever happened to just plug in and go, anyway?

  • What is the maximum capacity SSD for a T410s?

I have a 2 year old T410s, i5 processor, and 108G SSD running Windows 7 Professional. I need to increase my SSD capacity. What is the maximum capacity SSD the T410s will accommodate providing I remain within the physical size constraints of the hardware (7mm)?
Any feedback and/or recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • What's the largest capacity bus-powered external hard drive?

I realize that this isn't a Mac specific question, but I'd really like a recommendation. What's the largest capacity bus-powered (preferably USB) external hard drive available. My new MBP has a 500GB drive so I would need something with probably 640GB or bigger. Problem is I can't find anything over 500GB that's bus-powered. Everything I've found requires an external power supply which is what I'm trying to avoid. If anyone has a recommendation, please share it.

Have a search on the web for USA retailers who supply empty enclosures and drives separately. The enclosure is the physical case and the bits of circuitry and the physical ports. Tell them what you want and ask him what drives and enclosures he has to suit your purpose and if he can fit the two together for you. I have such a supplier but am in UK.
Does it have to be a USB bus? Firewire is better and gives more power. One way I power a 360GB pocket drive is to feed from TWO USB ports on the computer into one input port on the drive(now in the enclosure) you should be able to buy a sort of "Y" shaped cable with two full size flat USB connectors at one end and one single connector at the drive end. The drive end often will be a mini usb port. What you want will depend upon the size of the input into the drive.

  • What is the best flash for ipad3, What is the best flash for ipad3

What is the best flash for ipad3.

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • What's The Maximum Capacity of Mac Mail

    Hi All
I am new in Mac world, I was using outlook in windows with many email, the email files around 3GB, I did the converter of emails by using outlook2mail application.
My questions are, how much the maximum capacity of mac mail, and now I am using mac mail with few emails, its working fast, if I transfer all my emails to mac mail (1000s emails, around 3GB) is it will work in same speed or it will work slow or die ?
    Thanks
    Khalid

You've asked an unanswerable question. To my best knowledge there are no limits, other than as Barney says the available space on your hard drive. Also, it's impossible to quantify it because email messages vary in size. Do you delete large attachments? Have you created new Mail folders Mail > Mailboxes Sidebar > +? I do have a friend who has over 20,000. If anything gets mucked up you can always rebuild a mailbox from your Mail menu > Mailbox >Rebuild.

  • What is the Inbox calendar

and how can it be deleted??? (Whenever I delete it, it reappears automatically...)
    Thanks.

This is driving me nuts too. I have two (2!) Inbox calendars - one On My Mac, and one in my MobileMe calendars. They seem to be auto-generated by Mail, because they seem to show up every time I accept a calendar invitation inside of an email. However, the Inbox that is On My Mac does NOT sync with my iPhone, and nor can I reassign the events to a different calendar. This is stupid, and I am hoping others will chime in with some advice or suggestions.

  • What's the TRUE capacity?

Contemplating going to the Applestore this morning to buy an iPod classic. The decision on size rests largely on the TRUE capacity. I am replacing my 60Gb 5G which my music collection has outgrown. The TRUE capacity of this was 55.7Gb. I now have 76Gb of music, photos and videos - will this fit on an 80Gb?
I know that this is an old trick of the HD manufacturer but in my opinion 80Gb should have a capacity of 80Gb and the 160Gb should hold 160Gb. If I bought a petrol can that claims to hold 5 Gallons and took it to the filling station only to end up with petrol all over my leg because the TRUE capacity was 4.6 Gallons I would be severely annoyed.

My point though is why not used the same system to measure the drive as one uses to measure the data to fit on it? I know there's small print but surely it would be better to be honest?
Back in the 1970's and early 1980's, some computer companies would use the "honest" number when advertising the amount of memory in their computers. But other computer companies would use the "less honest" number. Computer buyers would see two computers for sale at the same price but one of them would list a higher amount of memory. So, of course, the computers from the less honest companies would sell better even though the actual amount of memory was the same. This left the honest companies little choice but to adopt the less honest numbers.
Once hard drives started to appear, the practice was extended to them. People did not notice this at first because the difference between the honest and less honest numbers was not large. But as hard drive sizes increased, the difference became greater.

  • What is the maximum capacity for 6680

    Looking to purchase this item...
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270419425551&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
Can someone please tell me if this card would work for my Nokia 6680?
    Thanks!
DON'T HIT KIDS... THEY HAVE GUNS NOW.

your 6680 phone supports RS-MMC memory cards. theoretically they go up to 2GB in size, so the 4GB you linked to may not work with your phone. your phone also may have dfficulty recognising the 2GB card, due to its large file size. however, the 4GB card you linked to on eBay is a Dual Voltage (hence the DV) Multimedia Memory Card, which can run at lower voltages to save power. however, it is unknown if these indeed work with Nokia phones. to be on the safe side, i would recommend sticking to purchasing RS-MMC cards only. i am unsure if these types of memory cards are still in production too.
please throw some kudos our way, it would mean a lot to us
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

  • Does Apple still make iPhone 4s and if they do what is the biggest capacity? Because I have one but it is only a 16 gb and it is not enough and I love the model and don't want to get a different model. I also don't want a second hand one.

iPhone 4s still made or not

Well, I know where it is... lemme guess:

What do we need to know about Australia?
With support contacts at Apple you may find
more information direct, than in a discussion.
See all worldwide telephone support numbers
    Contact a mobile carrier
Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider
    Visit an Apple Retail Store
    https://locate.apple.com/country
    source of country region links
An authorized reseller may be able to tell you
if there is a way to get an official refurbished
iPhone 4s there in the Asia Pacific/AU area.
The service providers that repair iPhones may be
a source of some information. So may those who
sell data plans for smart phones; & rather would
sell you a new one and not an older unit. They all
have their own ideas, so you'd need to talk to them.
My parents almost moved to AU in the late 1950s.
But they could drive here via Canada, so they did.
    In any event...
    Good luck & happy computing!
