What is the international standard compression?

I made many short films and need to export it as final file. In the past, i used to export 3 format that is 1.Uncompressed 8bit 2.H264 3.Broadband High
I'm still OK with 2 & 3 for different purpose but now i found that Uncompressed 8bit is too big and i wasted too many space for store it.
Can anybody suggest me what is the best way to export high res compression instead of Uncompressed?
My friend advised me to use Apple Proress 442 HQ. Is this the international standard compression?
Thanks na krub

Is this the international standard compression?
You're dreaming. There is NO SUCH THING as an international standard compression. About the closest you can get to an international standard is the specs for MPEG-2 compression for DVD. But even with that you have different TV standards for different countries (PAL, SECAM, NTSC and all of their individual variations) and different bit rates for different video programs. And if you're creating programming for broadcast, you need to check with each individual broadcaster to make sure you're delivering in a format that can actually use.
Flash and h.264 are probably the most commonly compatible for web viewing, with h.264 also being very compatible for computer viewing. But seriously, there is no single world-wide standard for anything in video; certainly not any of the ProRes codecs.
Even encoding for upload to various video hosting websites can vary from website to website, although some form of h.264 will generally work with most. But that's changing also ... just read about HTML 5 and Google's push for WebM: http://mashable.com/2010/05/19/google-webm-html5/
As my tag line so sarcastically states, "standards are wonderful and there are so many to choose from."

  • What are the Calculations of Compression days in MRP?

    Hi,
Can anyone please explain me with example that what are the calculations for compression days calculated for planned orders?? I am using MRP planning.
    Thanks and Regards
    Farhan

    HI,
compression days are the days by which lead time of your buy items gets compressed to fulfill the demand due dates.
For ex,  Finished Good is having Due date ( as scheduled ship date/request date in SO)   on 15th of Feb, but the buy item used in this assembly has lead time of 20 days.
Consider the plan is running today i.e. on 6th Feb, so buy item will be actually available  on 6+20=26th of  Feb,
But your demand due date is 15th Feb, which needs to be met, so planning engine will suggest an exception for this buy item as 'Item with compression days'
by compressing its lead time as 26th Feb-15th Feb=11days as compression days.
Please mark this post as correct or helpful it serves your purpose.
    Thanks,

  • What does the "Internal" value on the ASM Disk Group Usage Chart represent?

In OEM Grid Control, on the Automatic Storage Management Home page there is the Disk Group Usage Chart.
What does the "Internal (GB)" value on this pie chart represent? and how it has been calculated?
On one of our servers it is 13% of available ASM disk capacity.. and on another it is 0%.

Internal space is (Total MB - Free MB) from the @ DiskSpaceUsage - Total MB from the DatabaseDiskSpace usage
It is basically the space occupied by the your DB in the ASM disk space. There are few bugs related to this and need to be refined

Thanks for checking in.  The anwser to your questions are below.
Where is the material coming from?
These are MP4 files from my Canon vixia HFR40
What software are you using to edit the material?
    I am using iMOVIE 9.0.9
What do you want to do with the files after compression? I want to email I need to have the file be smaller than 100MB to send.
I am an actor and I video tape my auditions and send them to my agent so I need Highest Quality HD files that have small file sizes, no more than 100MB.  The scenes are like 1-5 Mins long in most cases. Thanks for your help.

  • What is the industry standard?

Hi, I was just wondering what's the industry standard video editing software? FCP or Premiere? Or which one is set to become the future standard?

That is a very difficult question to answer. Depends on what industry you refer to.
Editing in Hollywood? Wedding Videography industry? TVC editing Industry? The american video editing industry? South Africa (my industry)
You will most probably find that AVID and FC still dominate the market mostly, with Premiere slowly becoming more popular. Then there is also other companies like Quantel, Autodesk etc etc with a share in the market.

  • What is the internal CR 2032 battery for?

    Early 2008 Power Mac.
I read another post that it helps the computer "remember" where the boot drive or hard drive is for startup. Is that correct?
I get the flashing folder with a question mark on startup and have tried starting up from the installation disc, ran Disk Warrior, ran Apple Hardware Test, connecting to another computer to see if the tower is "recognized" as an external drive and nothing...
Just wondering if the internal battery replacement is worth a shot.
    Thanks!

And if you un-select the boot volume and reselect?
What if your backup system clones? any on USB or Firewire?
My guess is not the battery (I am on original on a 8.5 yr old 1,1) but that Nvram is messed up which does happen due to a mix of faulty USB Apple kb or mouse and / or PCIe cards - and all such cards and devices need to be removed and unplugged to "clear things up.,"
Sometimes moving the drive sled to another drive bay or sled.
Do the two resets with nothing no boot drive present - just slide it out 50%.
And try using another PC keyboard and mouse, one that lacks any NVRAM or firmware actually.
Leaving Apple keyboard out for a week or two can 'bring it back' and let you continue to use it.
Don't ignore any USB device or cable or extension.
The nice part is that a decent keyboard and mouse and even extension cost under $25 for all three.
    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Wired-Keyboard-Business-White/dp/B004SUIMGW/ ~ $11
    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Comfort-Mouse-4500-Blue/dp/B003BEDPHW/ - grey $13

So I have an Amount Column in my database. What is the best way and the SQL Standard to pass back a 0 if it is a <NULL>? With a COALESCE statement?
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

This is UNBELIEVEABLE! I got rid of my TextBox13 all together...Deleted it to start from scratch. And it is still erroring on TextBox13!!! I even checked the Properties List and there is no TextBox13. What in God's name is going on here?!?!?
    Am I missing something???
    Hi ITBobbyP,
As to this issue, I find that this is a known issue which you can see on the link below:
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/649210/bids-sql-2008-r2-warnings-not-clearing
According to the Feedback, we can workaround this known issue by Re-open the project. And if Warning was in fact resolved, it will no longer show on the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) "Error List".
As to your former issue, please refer to the expression post by
    Jingyang Li.

  • What is the best web compression ?

    Hi all web compression experts,
I have been trying to find out what is the optimum settings for files to be downloaded on the facebook. The limit I set is 100MB.
But when i rendered my 6.5 mins video in FCE, the filesize for the .mov file is a whopping 1.8GB. After much trial & error, I follow Diana's instruction in her Apple Pro Training book. Below is the summary of the steps she taught me in her book:
    Video:
    Compression: MPEG-4 Video
    Frame Rate: 15 fps
    Keyframe: 5
    Data Field Rate: 700 kbits/s
    Quality: Best
    Size:
    Dimension: Custom; I typed in 480 x 270
    Sound:
    Format: AAC
    Channel: Stereo
    Rate: 32 kHz
    DESELECT prepare for Internet Streaming.
With the above settings, my file size has been reduced to 35MB. So I can still afford to add another 65MB before it reach 100MB. I tried to change the compression to H.264 but whenever this option is chosen, the file reach 400MB and took ages to render.
I have also change to the frame rate to 25 fps but there is no difference in the filesize & picture quality.
Can someone be kind enough to gimme some tips on what the numbers in the setting "Keyframe: 5" & "Data Field Rate: 700 kbits/s" do to the video ?
Is keyframe 5 better than keyframe 10 ?
    Any suggestion?
    Thnaks

    Hi again Ryan,
I just got very good results exporting as suggested by Vimeo in this link:
    http://vimeo.com/help/compression
    Format: Quicktime Movie
    Codec for video: H.264
    Frame-rate: Current
    Keyframes: Every 30 frames
    Data rate: 5000 kbits/s
    Size: 1280x720
    De-interlace: Yes
    Sound codec: AAC
    Sound Sample Rate: 44.1kHz
    Audio Quality: 128kbps
I didn't see much reduction in quality, and it reduced a 457MB file to 19MB. Judging by my calculations, if a 457MB file was reduced to 19MB, a 1.8GB file should be reduced to 72MB. Something to try perhaps?
    Thanks skalicki`& dpapa,
I tried the above settings but it took ages to render. When it reached 45 mins, I gave up. By & large, whenever I use H.264 it takes very long to render !

  • What is the industry standard for body copy text size?

11pt? Using a brochure for an example. I know it depends on the font but if we were going just standard what would the recommendation be?
Also include a too small reference as well. Thanks!

I don't think there would be an "industry standard."
As an example, I work at a large advertising company with hundreds of employees. Body copy must be 10-point or larger; this has been set by the man in charge. If you want to make it smaller, he has to approve it. The reasoning being that if the dimensions of the piece are that small, the copy should just be rewritten. That said, the type size can be changed smaller if the font used is still legible enough.
And small type? For "legal" text, the lawyers have said it can be any size. Just by being there it's meeting legal requirements.

  • What is the best standard SoundFont file for SB Audigy

There are 2 soundfont files come with the installation software. They are CT2MGM.SF2 and CT4MGM.SF2. CT2MGM.SF2 has a smaller file size (2 MB) but has a newer soundfont version (v 2.) while CT4MGM.SF2 has a larger file size (4 MB) but has an older soundfont version (v 2.0). I wonder what is the best soundfont file for my SB Audigy ES. Can I use the larger soundfont file (ie. 8 MB) with my card and how can I get it's Thank all for your help.

I doubt if you'll find enough duplicated files to make a difference.  Also there may be numerious files with the same name that are needed.  Running some of the general dup finders can damage iPhoto libraries.
You best bet is to get an external HD, formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and move files to it.  Many move their iPhoto and iTunes libraries to the EHD and run them from there.  That ususally frees up a lot more space than the recommended minimum free space, 10 - 15 GB.

  • What is the internal  processing for idocs

Dear friends this is subbu working as a abap consultant.
can any body explain the how idocs are transfered (inbound process and outbound process)

1.Here out bound means sender.Inbound mens --receiver.
    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

FOr testing you can use WE19.
There are two filtering in IDoc.
    Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using T/Code BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Prrtner / Receiver Partner.
    Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in dustribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant , only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

  • What is the waterproof standards of Macbook

Apple is very generic about its warranty not being valid for liquid contact. WHat is the design specs of waterproofing of macbook that it conforms to\?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Nothing. When you spill water into a MacBook, it will probably stop working automatically. Also, water damage voids the warranty because it is an accidental damage.
