What is the iPad calendar?

Why is there an iPad calendar? and what is it?  I wanted just my calendar from my Outlook calendar, so this just makes redundancies and I'm not sure where it came from

Hello Nancy
The iPad calendar you see is a default calendar that is there when the iPad was first set up. If you do not want it there, click on Calendars located on the bottom middle when in the App. Tap Edit and select the calendar, then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Calendar.

  • How do I set the first day of the week as Monday in the iPad calendar?

I must be missing something - simply want Monday to show up first in week view in the iPad calendars. I've seen suggestions of changing from US to UK region settings but I don't want to change formats for numbers, etc globally.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

At the moment I don't think that it's possible apart from via the Region Format which you don't want to change. You can try leaving feedback and maybe it'll get changed in a future release of iOS : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • How do you reactivate the grey utilities scroll up tab at the bottom of the screen that should reveal wifi, bluetooth etc? Doesn't matter what orientation the ipad is in, it won't scroll up from the bottom. All other screen functions work normally.

Doesn't matter what orientation the ipad is in, it won't scroll up from the bottom.
All other screen functions work normally.

Settings/Control Center. There are two options which are pretty self-explanitory...one enables/disables access on the Lock Screen and one enables/disables access within apps/games.

  • Custom repeat option in the iPad calendar app

Why is there no custom repeat option (i.e. repeat an event every 1st Thursday, etc.) in the iPad calendar app?

There's a $0.99 app called Calendar Event Pro that adds all the custom repeat and alert functionality to iPad Calendar. It works with the native Calendar app so you don't have to have a separate calendar.

  • What is the iPad alternative to Flash Player?

What is the iPad alternative to Flash Player?

There are alternate browsers that redirect flash content to their servers, change it to stuff that works on iOS and send it to your device.
    They mostly kind of work.
Look at skyfire, photon, iswifter, puffin.
Read some reviews and see if one will work for you.

  • What is the iPad device id

What is the ipad device id?

If this is a developer questoin, you need to go here... http://developer.apple.com/
If not, it's likely the name you give the iPad in iTunes.

  • What is the home calendar on i cloud

What is the Home calendar on icloud?

It must be a calendar you created in your iCloud account.  If you want to change the name to something else, double-click it and type the name you prefer.

  • What are the differnet calendars for ical

I am new to using the iCal calendar and I am trying to understand the differeneces in "work", "home" and "calendar". I also have some calendars I am subscribed to along with a google and icloud calendar. I am not sure what the diferent calendar labels do? I have and iPad and iPhone that I try use also. This is getting crazy trying to understand where to add things based on the device I am on.
    Please help?
    Thanks

The different calendars allow you to associate an event with your personal (home) life, work life, etc., and color codes the event so you can easily see its association.

  • My outlook calendar is no longer syncing with the iPad calendar.  I have tried deleting and resetting up the account with no luck.

Yesterday my outlook calender events no longer are showing up in my calendar on iPad.  It is still on the list when you click on Calendar and is checkmarked.  I deleted the account in settings and reset it up and still nothing.  I have so much stuff in there I am hoping I can figure this out and not have to enter it all.  Help!

Read the User Tip that razmee209 linked for you in the post above. If nothing in there works, there May be something on your iPad that is corrupt. Backup the iPad, restore to factory settings, and them restore the backup. If that doesn't fix it, restore as new and download all of your purchased content again.

  • What is the imap calendar? - Never saw it before...

I've used iCal any synced it with my iPhone for years now and the only calendars that where ever on either were ones I created. However, there's now something called imap (seems to have arrived around the time of iPhone OS4), which my phone and iCal seem to want to use as a default sometimes when I'm entering events. What is this thing? Why is it there? Do I need it? Can I get rid of it? Why did it suddenly appear?
    Thanks,
    Ben

You are likely using an e-mail account with an IMAP server (Gmail, Yahoo, or your own). I know mine creates a new calendar if I attempt to create a To-Do for a Mail message in one of those IMAP mail accounts. If there's nothing in the calendar, it can be safely deleted, but make sure none of your events are set to it, because they will be erased if you delete the calendar.

  • What can the iPad do that the iPad Touch cannot?

I've been thinking about buying an iPod Touch lately, but now I keep hearing about the iPad and it looks pretty neat. What exactly can it do that the iPod Touch cannot do?

It's a much bigger touch surface and it has a much faster processor which will allow for significantly more robust applications.. Apple's iWork apps for the iPad are a great example of the types of things developers will bring to the iPad which would never work on the iPhone or iTouch..

  • How can I delete events from the iPad calendar?

I can add events although not particularly user friendly. I cannot seem to remove them and/or just reset the whole calendar. At this point, I'll just use my trusty paper planner! I did try searching the forums and looking in the deficient iPad manual. Thanks in advance.

  • HT4356 What about the iPad notes. Can we print them with Airprint?

They say we can use Airprint with Safari, Pages, Mail, etc. But no mention of Notes. Not mentionning we can't either. Can we? My dad had a Canon printer compatible with Airprint. Both the updates has been made on the iPad and Canon software. When trying to print it says they can't find the Airprint. "Aucune imprimante Airprint détectée", to use the exact same word.
    Thanks!

If he has a Canon printer that is compatible with Airprint, and he has upgraded the printer Firmware, you should be able to print.  In fact, you should be able to print emails, web pages, notes, AND photos through Airprint.  The Canon app should add more capability when printing photos (e.g., choice of paper types, paper sizes, image sizes, etc) that Airprint does not offer, so the Canon app is good to have for photos.
Make sure his iPad is connected to the same wifi network as the printer.
Try turning the printer off then on again.  This will reset it.
What kind of a router is he using?  Airprint needs Bonjour to talk to the router.  There may be a firmware upgrade for that too.
