What is the largest and fastest Hard Drive I can install in a 17" I-7 Mac Book Pro running Final Cut Pro7 7

What is the Largest and Fastest Hard drive that can be installed in my 17" Mac Book Pro i7 duo core 2.8 I need it to be compatible with Final Cut Pro 7

One of these SSDs:

An SSD is always a faster storage solution. A regular hard drive will almost ALWAYS be the bottleneck in a system, because it's the only part in a computer that has physical, moving parts. The SSD has no moving parts, so there's much less latency when reading and writing. That particular SSD is designed with professionals in mind, meaning that it will right at home rendering video in Final Cut. Hope that helps!

  • Biggest and fastest hard drive I can put into my Thinkpad X61

What is the biggest and fastest hard drive I can put into my Thinkpad X61 (type 7673-AG2)?
Here's someone who used a Seagate Monentus:
I'm surprised that the vintage 2007 core2duo Thinkpad X61 supports Sata 3Gb/s.  Has it been around that long?
The Lenovo X61 product detail support page  does not say which revisions of SATA it supports:
The X61 hardware maintenance manual just says "SATA interface".

  • I can connect my tc to the internet and back up my iMac, but it will not back up my mac book pro... ANY thoughts?

i can connect my tc to the internet and back up my iMac, but it will not back up my mac book pro... ANY thoughts?

When I go to connect my MBP, it says I have the wrong user name and/or password; however the names and password are the same on both computers.
The MBP connects smoothly to the internet, just not the TC.
    Does this help?
There is no login name required to get internet unless you are running a vpn or pppoe client.
The wireless uses a security key.. but that is fixed in the wireless setup.. so no user login should be required at any time.
It sounds to me like you have the wrong setup.
Please do a screen shot and post it of the imac setup that works.. show us the airport network with its ip address and where you are putting in the login.
Please also do a snapshot of the TC and how it is setup.
    What broadband do you have?
Is the TC a router or bridged?

  • What's the largest size hard drive you can install in a MacBook 2010 and does it matter if it's a apple hard drive

what the largest size hard drive you can install in your MacBook 2010 and does it matter of its a Mac hard drive are not

You could theoretically upgrade to a 1TB HDD and brand really doesn't matter as long as it's a 2.5" SATA HDD.  However I would probably shoot for a 500GB or 750GB.  If you want some performance increase as well go for a 7200RPM drive, but just know that you will lose some of your battery life as well.  If that's a trade-off you don't really care about then go for the 7200RPM drive.

Yesterday, I tried a SEAGATE SSHD but my screen was always a showing a QUESTION MARK (?). It's not the cable because when I put back the old original version, everything works...Any sugestion of brabnding or procédure to upgrade my hard drive?

The largest 2.5" dia SATA drives available are 2 TB in capacity.
Have you tried the Seagate SSHD connected externally to the MBP via USB?  The drive itself may be faulty.
    Ciao.

  • An Entire cup of coffee was spilled on the side of my MacBook Pro, it was in my purse, port side up. They were filled. I'm assuming the board or whatever is fried. If I go to apple tomorrow, what are the odds that my hard drive will be salvageable?

I'm usually good at backing up my photos and documents, but the last 2 months of pictures and videos are on there and not backed up anywhere. I'm heartbroken.

"What are the odds that my hard drive will be salvageable?"
Very very good, it's all sealed and only a large electrical surge or dropping it while running could do some damage.
Take it and use a SATA to USB adapter you can get online for $12-$40 and hook it right up to the new Mac and use Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant to transfer files.
OR you can access the drive directly and on a PC with MacDrive installed.
However the Mac itself is likley a goner.

  • What is the best choice of hard drives?

My G4 AGP.350MHz with 1.3 GHz upgrade needs an additional internal hard drive for backup. It currently has an 80 GB and 160 GB. I am moving out the 80 GB HDD to my G3 Beige. I am thinking about getting a 80-120 GB for replacement. What is the best choice of hard drives?
Will the 80 GB hard drive, with Mac OS 10.4.4 installed, run in my G3 Beige 233MHz with G4 500MHz upgrade?
    Thanks.
    Robert

"What is the best choice of hard drives?"
I'm thinking of adding a drive to my G4. I will probably put a 150 MB SATA PCI card in and get a SATA drive. Going from the ATA66 interface to the 150 SATA should be a noticeable improvement.
"Will the 80 GB hard drive, with Mac OS 10.4.4 installed, run in my G3 Beige 233MHz with G4 500MHz upgrade?"
As long as it's an IDE drive, it should work fine. Be sure you have only one of the drives set as the master, if you have more than one drive.

  • What are the Processor, Operating system, hard drive device, Total Memory, Network card, System Graphics of the Silver ipad air

what are the Processor, Operating system, hard drive device, Total Memory, Network card, System Graphics of the Silver ipad air?

"Memory" in this case means RAM, the working space for the processor in the iPad. It is different from storage space, the latter being what is referred to by the "32GB", "64GB" etc. specification.
    Regards.

  • HT1329 My large iTunes library is on an external hard drive. Can I set up iTunes on my new Macbook Pro and copy the library to it or are there any pitfalls?

I have my large iTunes library on an external hard drive. Can I set up ITunes on my new Macbook Pro and transfer/copy this library to the internal hard drive or are there any problems I should be aware of?

ITs an old Iomega 100gb external HD that has about 90gb of music on it. The Macbook has a 500gb HD. I would like to put the iTunes library on the internal HD so I have room to expand.
    Phil0124 wrote:
You can copy it to the internal hard drive as long as it fits on it. How big is your library, and how big is your internal HD?
The only thing you do not want to do is over-stuff the internal hard drive. The OS needs some space to operate correctly, so if your iTunes library uses up more than say 80 to 85% of the internal HD's available space it may not be a good idea to transfer it over.
With that said, the internal HD will provide slightly faster access to the library than the external would, but other than that, you can point iTunes to the external drive just fine.

What is the easiest and fastest way for me to get the iOS 5.1 update for my ipad2? I am non tech savvy and am a new user to apple devices.

If you are already running iOS 5 on your iPad go to Setrings>General>aoftware Update and you can update over the air via WiFi. If you are not running iOS 5 you have to connect the iPad to your computer and update via iTunes.
    Instructions here.

  • What is the size and number of documents we can upload to a document library at one time

    HI
what is the size and number of documents we can upload to a document library at one time.
like we have scenario , we developed a custom solution to scan and upload documents to sharepoint sites doc library.
here we face issues when user try to upload 100 documents with the size of each doc 2-3 MB, at one time.
    adil

    Hi Adil,
The maximum number and size of documents to upload in a document library is determined by a setting in Central administration. You can go to Central administration -> Application Management -> Manage Web Applications -> Select the Web Application
-> Click on General Settings in the ribbon. Scroll down and you will see "Maximum Upload Size" section. The maximum value that can be set is 2047 MB.

  • I did backup from my Imac to external hard drive, how can I unzip that backup to my mac

I did backup from my Imac to external hard drive, how can I unzip that backup to my mac again

It may be Time Machine, but Time Machine doesn't store backups in .zip folders. Open Finder and select your backup external disk in the Finder sidebar, under "Devices". If you are using Time Machine, you should see a folder called "Backups.backupdb".
If you are using Time Machine and you want to restore a full Time Machine backup, there are different methods depending on the Mac OS X version you are using. Open  > About this Mac, see Version and tell me what version you are using

Buy an external optical drive such as the Apple USB SuperDrive that is made specifically for that model.
Use the optical drive of your old MBP to clone the DVDs to USB flash drives, then install from the flash drives.
Connect both computers to your local network and then share the optical drive to install the software.
