What is the largest file it can hold externally?

When trying to transfer a single 4.5GB (DVD5 .img) file to my iPod, I'm told that the destination disk is full. It doesn't matter how much free space I have or if I create an empty folder first.
I've created folders holding a DVD9 worth of VOB files with no problems, but any DVD5 sized single files are not transferrable to my iPod. I have tried x2 .iso and x1 .img files, with the smallest size at 4.3GB (all having the same results).
There must be a maximum file size I can copy onto the iPod, so what is it? Or, are there certain files we can't transfer when using the iPod as an external drive?
Again, each time I have had more than enough space. Any assistance you can offer is greatly appreciated.

It's not an Apple limit it is a windows limit. I have my iPod formatted for apple and can move big files all day long. It's windows FAT32 that limits you. So technically it is Mcrosoft that is stopping your plans for world domination:-> probably because it conflicts with their plans for world domination:->.

I want to buy the app to edit some of my pictures and then upload them to google or flickr directly from my camera to my ipad using a lightning to sd connector. But my Images are 18mp and I see it says up to 12, although I wonder if anyone has tried a higher megapixel rate before without it crashing every 3 mins or something, and thus loosing all their hard work. If anyone has tried it and made it work somehow, please tell me how or why it won't work. This Somewhat Helps, The main Issue is that under the description it says that the Largest megapixel acceptance is 12mp. My camera renders at 18 mp. This would be 5184x3456. What I intend to do is Take a couple of pictures with my camera (Canon T4i), Eject the Sd card(sandisk Extreme 32gb class 10), Use the SD to Lightning adapter(from apple), connect it to my ipad and transfer the images to the pictures app (the preinstalled apple one). Open the Photoshop app select an image and use one of the images from my camera in my ipad to be able to edit and upload. That is it, but if 4096x4096 is all that it accepts then My 5184x3456 image is too big and that would mean that the image will not be accepted by the app. If anything I will have to set my image quality to be lower or to shave off some of the pixels in my pictures, which I would have to use photoshop for, but going to my computer was exactly what i wanted to avoid. Thanks anyway. I guess I will still buy the app and try it out then and if it works I will let you guys know. I was also wondering if anyone had tried it before so I could have some Idea of what would happen, but I guess not so I will be the guinea Pig and try it and if the outcome is positive Get ready to see a whole new way of using your tablet. I will update the results and try to make a video about it if it works. The main test points will be If it accepts the image, and if it doesnt crash and make me lose my files while I was working on them if it crashes.Thanks Guys.

i want to replace the hard drive in my C770US laptop, it came with a 160gb hdd, and i want to put in a 1tb or larger hard drive, im not sure what type of hard drive to buy, the original hard drive was a SATA I, and most HDD available are SATA II and SATA III, and so im wondering, will the SATA II and SATA III hard drives work in a C770US laptop?

What is the max file size that a Adapter Engine [J2SE] can handle ?

We are having a scenario where a 4 GB compressed file needs to be sent across without mapping, I'm trying to explore the possible options to tackle this scenario.
Some of the options, we are considering :
- Sending a file from one Adapter Engine [J2SE] to another Adapter Engine [J2SE] bypassing PI. Adapter Logs will be monitored. What is the maximum file size that can be then handled assuming a standard installation ?
- What is the max file size that Adapter Engine [J2SE] can send through PI without mapping?
Any help with the above options or with any other possible solutions to handle extremely large file transfers will be much appreciated.

j2se is not a good option here
if you have 4gb then you need a copy solution
a) build an proxy that will just copy the file from sender dest to receiver
b) build an adapter that will do the same as proxy)
this way processing of this message will be controlled with SAP PI/XI
it will be as quick as copy & paste of the 4gb file
I did the a) for one of the flow for 300 mb and it works perfectly

Years ago,I noticed my 8100 Powermac couldn't support larger hard drives than 2GB so I had to partition. Now I have a 8600 Mac with a 4GB hard with no partition. What's the largest hard drive size my PowerMac 8600 can support?

What are the largest sized replacement memory cards that can be used in a new macmini 2.6MHz i7 quad core? I see samsung has some 16GB cards and was wondering if the macmini can be jacked up to 32GB instead of the apple store configuration of 2x8GB or 16GB total.

I called Apple Support cause I just purchased my Macmini and found out that it is a memory stick slot issue of some sort. If there were 4 slots instead of two, then you could have 32GB of memory. So it appears to be a board layout issue when apple layed out the processor board they did not allow for enough address bus width for the memory slots cause the intel processor chip will support up to 32GB of memory. Apparently others have tried to put 2x16GB into macminis and have all been unsuccessful thus far. I guess someone could go in and whitewire their processor board but that would be insanely over the top. :-)

An SSD is always a faster storage solution. A regular hard drive will almost ALWAYS be the bottleneck in a system, because it's the only part in a computer that has physical, moving parts. The SSD has no moving parts, so there's much less latency when reading and writing. I have not seen any 7200 rpm 1 TB HDDs. They all are 5400 rpm. I would say that this HDD comes closest to your requirements. Tomorrow, there may be others.
