Can anyone tell me if I can use a hard drive larger than a 120 size on the 3000 C200 laptop? SATA OR SATA2?

In order to install Lion you have to have Snow Leopard and then update to 10.6.8:

Personally I suggest that you stop at Snow Leopard. It still is the most efficient OS that Apple has devised and it still works great. Go to the Lions only if there are feature that you really need. There may be a price to pay in slower performance though.

What is the latest OS I can use with a mac G5 with a dual 2.3 Ghz PowerPC G5 processor? Everything on my computer has been running so slowly in the last few weeks. Have I finally outgrown OS 10.4.11? Would there be some other problem that would sudden make all my speed take a nose dive? I have 8.5 gigs of RAM... Please advise!

First open Console in Applications>Utilities, see if you have reapeating messages.
How much Free Space do you have on the Hard Drive?
At this point I think you should get Applejack...

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

In theory: How big is your hard drive? Practically, not that large or it will become difficult to handle. If you need to create a large document then you should use Word from Office 2011 for OS X or Adobe InDesign.

I want to buy the app to edit some of my pictures and then upload them to google or flickr directly from my camera to my ipad using a lightning to sd connector. This Somewhat Helps, The main Issue is that under the description it says that the Largest megapixel acceptance is 12mp. My camera renders at 18 mp. This would be 5184x3456. What I intend to do is Take a couple of pictures with my camera (Canon T4i), Eject the Sd card(sandisk Extreme 32gb class 10), Use the SD to Lightning adapter(from apple), connect it to my ipad and transfer the images to the pictures app (the preinstalled apple one). Open the Photoshop app select an image and use one of the images from my camera in my ipad to be able to edit and upload. That is it, but if 4096x4096 is all that it accepts then My 5184x3456 image is too big and that would mean that the image will not be accepted by the app. If anything I will have to set my image quality to be lower or to shave off some of the pixels in my pictures, which I would have to use photoshop for, but going to my computer was exactly what i wanted to avoid. Thanks anyway. I guess I will still buy the app and try it out then and if it works I will let you guys know. I was also wondering if anyone had tried it before so I could have some Idea of what would happen, but I guess not so I will be the guinea Pig and try it and if the outcome is positive Get ready to see a whole new way of using your tablet. I will update the results and try to make a video about it if it works. The main test points will be If it accepts the image, and if it doesnt crash and make me lose my files while I was working on them if it crashes.Thanks Guys.

That depends on where you are and what carrier you want to use.

K7T pro (MS 6330) what is the highest CPU I can use?

I currently have a Duron 650 and the manual says that I can go up to ~1.3 Ghz. However, the CPU compatibility chart has an N/A beside anything higher than 1.2, even if it has a 100 FSB.
So my questions are: what is my limit, am I limited by a 250 watt power supply, does Athlon Thunderbird have much over the Duron, and will I see much difference from my 650 Duron?

An Athlon XP could run in your board but it would only run at about 75% of it's clock speed due to the fact your board doesn't support 266MHz FSB.
Officially you should only use a Duron1300 or old Athlon 1400/200 if you could still find one.
A 250w PSU could limit you depending on the rest of your hardware and the exact model/ratings of this PSU.

What is the largest file it can hold externally?

When trying to transfer a single 4.5GB (DVD5 .img) file to my iPod, I'm told that the destination disk is full. It doesn't matter how much free space I have or if I create an empty folder first.
I've created folders holding a DVD9 worth of VOB files with no problems, but any DVD5 sized single files are not transferrable to my iPod. I have tried x2 .iso and x1 .img files, with the smallest size at 4.3GB (all having the same results).
There must be a maximum file size I can copy onto the iPod, so what is it? Or, are there certain files we can't transfer when using the iPod as an external drive?
Again, each time I have had more than enough space. Any assistance you can offer is greatly appreciated.

It's not an Apple limit it is a windows limit. I have my iPod formatted for apple and can move big files all day long. It's windows FAT32 that limits you. So technically it is Mcrosoft that is stopping your plans for world domination:-> probably because it conflicts with their plans for world domination:->.

Been seduced by the SSD, its not a logical decision, I know. Problem is I cant afford one with a high cap. Take into account I am only using 54GB of my 150GB drive. This is just a short term change(larger drives will come later when prices drop), but I do want it to work well and startup and run quickly. Oh, Intel G2 X25M. I plan to have a bootable drive and TimeMachine partition on the old drive.
If I got an 80GB drive and put the old drive into a firewire case what would be some operational concerns or ways to make the system work better?
I assume SL OX would take up less space, any other ways to manage the overall GB's like 'CleanMyMac'?

ok thats different, you can make your book boot from an external drive, however with what you are wanting especially staying with a ssd you can go as big or small you wont notice the speed difference that is the great thing about ssd however knowing that you want to store files and such i would highly recommend you go with at least the 80gb, keeping in mind that you need your boot files on this. Thats the facts in my opinion though i would stay with a sata drive either a high rpm. SSD are highly overpriced as of now.

Another side note when it comes to SSD your not going to notice a huge difference unless the program is a freakin beast that you are trying to load, honestly it only makes up a few seconds here and there. They dont really have a great advantage yet having one is more for bragging rights. Yes i agree its SLIGHTLY faster, but compare Say you have a 640gb sata drive thats more space than you can ever really need on a notebook or the most 256 SSD (another note the bigger the sata drive the faster they read im not sure of the technical terms but i can also explain it if you need me too) but to me id go with the much larger sata drive you will notice a performance increase and battery life as well.

What's the maximum RAM logic can use?

As we all know, the Mac Pros can sport up to 16 gig of RAM. The question is.... how much ram can Logic use?
I use piles of samples so i'd love to stick 8 gig in the mac pro (that i haven't bought yet)
Is it pointless to spend all that cash?
If it can only use 4 gig currently, (as i hear most apps do)
has anyone heard of plans to upgrade logic to use more?

I'm pretty sure that the MAC I have right (Dual 1.8 G5) now will use up to 8 gigs.. I have 5.5 in there right now. I'll try tonight and see if I can max the usage up to 5.

What is the largest HDD that is compatible with a MBP early 2011 15"?

My current storage setup is one 256 GB SSD as the boot drive in the original location for the hard drive. I then removed the SuperDrive and put my original hard drive in an optibay. I have since run out of storage (lots of audio samples etc.) and I'm looking at a 3TB internal hard drive. Or around that size anyway.

Have a look at this article to give you an idea on your negotiated link speed when you install a hard drive in your optical drive bay.
installing a SATA III hard drive will not give you any issues - it might give you a negotiated link speed of 3GB/s instead of 6GB/s.
