What is the life expectancy of the Bionic?

I'm not really looking for an answer to that question, just pondering!  I purchased the Bionic November 2011 and within in the past few weeks I am having hardware problems (along with 4G connectivity).  I am very easy on the phone and it is handled with care. The microphone went out and I received my "like new" replacement that came with a long scratch on the screen and the speaker (ear) made an annoying buzzing sound that would not stop!
So, my second "like new" replacement arrived a few days later and...tada...it will not power up!  And no it is not just me...the same problem happened at the Verizon store.  I will receive my 3rd "like new' replacement within a 2 week span.  I am so tired of having to reinstall apps, accounts and the list goes on.
Anyone else having problems?
Despite the lack of love Verizon gives to the Bionic owners, I continue to love my Bionic (when it works)! And hope that I actually receive a "like new" replacement tomorrow. (And I must say that the customer service/tech support on the telephone have been wonderful)
Is my luck really that bad or is the Bionic nearing its last days?  We shall see!

I was wondering how long the actual device is made to last...the battery life for me has been about 4 hours for me.  My last Droid lasted about a a year and half before the hardware started failing.  Years ago phones lasted several years before falling apart.  I'm just curious to see if I am the only one with problems or is the Bionic known to have issues.  But after receiving all of the replacement phones that are inoperable I'm beginning to think the Bionic is a dyeing breed.
Thanks for the suggestion...I had not thought about contacting Motorola directly.  I did receive the 3rd replacement phone and it too is inoperable.  The folks in the store had no idea how to get it do anything.  All they can do is send me another replacement phone.

  • SQL Management Pack - Page Life Expectancy Alert

We have SCOM 2012 SP1 and SQL Management Pack 6.4.1.0 in our environment.   It seems that the majority of our SQL servers are reporting the Engine Page Life Expectancy error.  However when I look at the performance data, the alerts are triggering
at random times even when according to the performance data, it is not even close to the threshold.  Even on the alert context, the value well above the threshold in most cases.
When I look at the monitor in the Authoring pane, the configuration states the threshold and the interval but it does not state what counter it is looking at.  Not sure if that is normal.
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue.  I am about to disable the monitor since I am not getting consistant alerts
    Thanks!

Please also change the critical alert to a warning through creation of an override for all of these objects.

What is the life expectancy of an airport express?

My guess.....3-4 years would be about average based on forum experience.
I have one that is 6 years old...been running almost 24/7, and have had one fail that was less than 6 weeks old, so averages won't tell you much since any electronic component can fail at any time.
Is something wrong with your Express?

What is the life expectancy of the hp laser jet p3015 printer?

What is the life expectancy of the older base stations (flying saucer/spaceship looking one) and what are the telltale connection signs that it's starting to go?
Apple has never published any life expectancy specifications for any of their routers (or desktops/laptops) that I am aware of. As a rule of thumb, I would consider two years for any consumer electronics that operates 24 x 7 to be a reasonable period. Obviously some experience more or less and it would depend on a number of factors: ambient temperature, electrical circuit stability, area prone to lightening strikes, etc.
Some telltale signs that an AirPort has (or is about to fail):
Status lights are not illuminated or do not match any of the known configurations.
Unit feels cool to the touch after power is applied even after a lengthly (15-30 minutes) period of time.
Unit refuses to intialize, even after performing multiple "factory default" resets.
    Weak or no wireless signal.
    Ethernet port(s) not functioning
    Etc.
Also, are there any compatiility issues with newer models and G5/G4s?
    Three potential issues:
Depending on the version of OS X you are running on these clients, they may not be able to support the latest AirPort Utility required to administer the latest AirPorts. OS X 10.5.7 is the minimum required.
Support for 802.11n connectivity. Most G5 or G4 Apples support 802.11g, some only 802.11b.
Support for WPA2. Not supported if the G5 or G4 is equipped with the Original AirPort Card.

whats the life expectancy of an i pad2 ?

You can expect two years, as Apple will sell you a warranty extension (AppleCare) that'll extend the one year warranty to two. :-)
Odds are good it will last quite a while longer, but it's reasonable to expect 2-3 years. My rule of thumb is that by year three I definitely want a newer version even if I don't need it.
And, keep in mind that there is always a robust market for used Apple gear.

The document here lists the monthly duty cycle at 125,000 to 200,000 pages per month and the devices typically have a one year warranty.  Based on this I would expect at least 1.4 - 2.4 million pages for printer life with appropriate maintenance.

Has your son been calibrating the battery per the user manual schedule?  Has he been using the computer properly? According to the user manual it states in part:"Do not operate your MacBook Pro on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your MacBook Pro. Never push objects into the ventilation openings."

What is the expected useful life of a new iMac?

There are few if any life-limited components in new Macs.
In very approximate terms Macs become unsupported after about five years and functionally obsolete in about seven years. This has held true since about 1984 (my first Mac still works). Buy as much RAM as you can afford.

  • Any way to measure the life expectancy of a PRAM battery?

Is there any way to measure the life expectancy of the PRAM battery through software?   Or must one open the case to determine the left over charge?  I have an iMac 5,1 that thus far is doing well.  But I am well aware the age suggests the PRAM battery may go soon, and I will have a two week period soon where I won't be accessing it, having to leave it off.

I'd love to know if there is something out there to do this. Just spent a few minutes searching and was only able to find something years out of date for the old 1/2 AA G3 PRAM battery, that only works in OS 9.
The best I've seen is to disable automatic time updating, shut down and unplug for several hours, and see if the clock is still on time when you reconnect to power. This seems very imprecise, to say the least, and you will be draining more power from the battery while it's off wall power.
Of course, you can always take it out and measure it with a volt meter, but it would be insane to go through all that just to measure it and put the same one back.
I think the life expectancy of one of the CR2032s, the lithium button battery which I'm supposing your early Intel, circa 2006, uses is around five years.
If this is your model, replacement doesn't look all that painful. My late 2009 21.5 is a total nightmare with 35 steps. Keeps on going even after the logic board is out. Why Apple puts what should be a user replaceable item in such an inaccessible place -- and getting more inaccessible with each new model -- I have no idea. I guess you're just supposed to throw out the computer when the battery dies.

I can't imagine any worse workflow than converting to JPEG to edit text, then back to PDF. Text in a PDF is a vector thing, smooth at all resolutions. And JPEG is made for photos. EVERY conversion to JPEG and back loses quality but how much loss there is will vary.
