Just filling in iTunes Producer and I realise there must be a limit for the Book Description box. Does anyone know the number please?

For SAP; What is the "job description" for the back-up blade?

Dear all,
We have several cases that the back-up blade didn't pick up the workload from the failed/hang blades ( we are using the Ver 49), and I would like to know why. What are the cases that are not applicable to back up blade? Even if I think that the back-up blade picked up the load, I am not 100% sure if that is the case, is there any log that I can see that the queries were switched to the back up blade, how can I confirm this?
The reason I am asking this is, if I have say indexes for the cube ABC in blade 1 and if it's hang/down, how can the back up blade pick up that data and serve to the customer? At the end, if it's not working properly, I can use it as a normal productive blade

BWA is a so-called distributed TREX system. You can read more here:

A backup blade (host) takes over in case of a failure of the master blade. The cases are described here:

The actual switch is pretty fast and usually takes less than a minute (first BWA query needs to load the data into memory of course which add some seconds to the first query execution).
Important: An overloaded blade is NOT down. It's up and running and processing queries (clearly indicated by high CPU load)! Therefore TREX is not switching to the backup blade.

What is the exact description of "in the same network"

in my household i use my devices (Mac, iphone, apple tv, etc) on different floors. if the device support ethernet (ex. apple tv) i use ethernet, because of less radio radiation and more speed.
Often "wake on Lan" for my mac based itunes library not working. The same for itunes wlan syncing and other feature (remote on iphone or connect "computer" on apple tv) . In the most help descriptions i read "the devices have to be in the same network". I tried different configuration:
1) connect my mac via gbit ethernet : problems persists
2) connect my mac via wlan: the problem persists, sometimes it works ,sometimes not. Additional, some application are slow (stream etc.), that normal, because gbit ethernet ping gives <10 ms, wlan ping gives <100 ms.
I "played" with some technical parameters, like radio channel on my airport to reduces possible inferences etc., but no luck
3) connect both ethernet and wlan: the problem seems to be solved, but i "feel" some trouble about the two activated interfaces to the same system (some freeze, who i blame to the double interface, perhaps)
So, what means "in the same network" exactly. Bind to the same hub? in the same WLAN network ? What is the idea behind that? Why not bridging bonjour and wake on lan?

You want to make a quick test, which means only reading 10 rows of source data. Reading 10GB of source data, to then filter
within the pipeline is clearly not going to be quick.
To be clear, changing anything downstream of the source component is a not what you want. This includes Row Sampling, SQL Destination or anything else like that.
The OLE Source will keep reading data (which means downloading it, filling buffers etc) and passing it to the downstream components until it has no more data to work with.
The only way to limit the data you actually read is to change the source criteria, so changing to a SELECT TOP 10 query is the ideal solution as Onur suggests.
Now how you do that is the challenge, especially if you don't want to manually edit lots of packages ....
Nik's whilst valid, seems manual, and I'm not a big fan of adding code like that just to support testing.
Personally I would automate the changing of the package. Starting from my
Exploring packages in code sample, it will loop through packages and tasks and down to data flow tasks. I'd then add a bit of code to check for OLE Source components and change the source SQL statement between SELECT TOP 10 [Col] and SELECT [Col]. I guess
this could be a bit of a learning curve if your not familiar with the API, but well worth the effort. On large projects you often want to make bulk changes, and I find writing quick tools like this the best approach.

In version 11.1.2.3.500, the performance of the GUI has been decreased comparing to previous versions due to the use of the ADF. However, there are parameters in the system that you can change in order to improve the situation. The best approach is to contact an infrastructure consultant who will review the system and edit the OHS/IIS parameters.
Additionally, there is a rumor that version 11.1.2.4 has solved these issues and hopefully a few more.

Does anybody have any advice about updating your book description once the book is live?

I made a careless spelling mistake while filling out the metadata for my children’s ebook. Obviously I quickly changed it and resubmitted my “package”. That was four days ago and the spelling mistake is still there in the book description for all the world to see. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to push this through? It really should only be a 30 second fix yet has turned into a complete nightmare. Please help. Thanks.

The description is one of the metadata fields that you cannot update yourself. You need to contact Apple and ask them to make the change for you. Quote the title, Apple ID, and ISBN of the book, and added description of the exact change needed, or complete replacement text for the description.

Tried with 31 mb file.
It successfully delivers the file but....
The instance never completes successfully in the BPEL Console. If I open the audit tab, it shows the following message

Technically speaking the VM has a restriction according to plattform. W2k is somewhere around 1,2G and Solaris, I believe, 4G.
Say for instance I was on a W2k box I allotted 500+ for my J2EE Engine that would leave me with the possiblity to upload close to 600mb documents max.

One other thing I found... It was still doing the spinning clock and locking up, but it took a while after boot for the problem to crop up.
I pulled the media card and found that there was a media sync folder under Blackberry\System that had some files in there that were pretty big. The artwork file was over 150MB and some other files were largish.
I deleted the entire media sync folder and now it seems to be behaving itself. No more spinning clock and it seems to be slowly returning to normal. (Besides all the messages it deleted during the whole process)
If anyone else runs into this I would say you should clean the folder off the media card along with disabling the sync. Seems the BB still reads that folder and processes it if present.
