What is the little plastic piece that comes with my iPod??

What is the little plastic piece that comes with my iPod?? It looks like some kind of dock, but it is oddly shaped. There is nothing about it in the user guide. What is it?

Hi trancelot,
That white plastic piece that comes with your iPod is the adaptor for the iPod Universal Dock.

  • What are the little plastic pieces that come with iPod Touch used for?

One piece is white and the other is clear. Can someone show me how to use them?

The white piece is an adapter that you use when resting your iPod in an iPod dock. The clear piece is a stand that you can put your iPod on when you are charging through you USB cable, or just watching a film, etc. Place it flat on a table, and then place your iPod sideways in the divot.

  • What are the limitations in weblogic that comes with JDeveloper?

    Hi,
What are the limitations in weblogic that comes with JDeveloper?
    Thanks for your help.

Not much. If there is, you can always create your own domain with the servers you want and create a connnection to the admin server of that domain in JDeveloper.

  • What is the version of APEX that comes with DB 11.2.0.2?

What is the version of APEX that comes with DB 11.2.0.2? Is it 4.0?
Where can I confirm this, is there a list of DB features and versions for 11.2.0.2?
Am I correct in thinking there currently a patch for Apex 4.0.2.?
    Thanks
    Will

    Hi Will,
I believe APEX 3.2 is still shipped with Oracle 11g but I could be wrong.
All the documentation regarding 11g r2 can be found at:

The information regarding the patch can be found in Joels Blog:

  • What is the default/factory brightness that comes with a Macbook?

Bought the Macbook in early 2010. Just wondering because I always change it and wanted to know the default/factory setting it comes with when you buy it.

It's best to start a new thread when you have a question. The settings your looking for is under *System Preferences* then go to *Energy Saver*. There you can change the settings so the display never dims.

  • I have the version of iPhoto that comes with my OS when I purchased my MacBook, but now I can't open it, because it says this, "You can't open the application "iPhoto" because it may be damaged or incomplete. Please help I have tons of family photos.

1 - the iPhoto application is an application and does not hole your photos - your photos are in the iPhoto library an dour normal daily backup will back them up so your photos are safe
2 - what exactly does the error message say? You probably need to reinstall the iPhoto application form the original source
3 - note that no version of iPhoto comes with any OS - iPhoto comes with all new Macs but not with any OS and most OS versions can run many different versions of iPhoto

  • Why doesn't the version of Notepad that comes with Java work?

Something is wrong with the version of Notepad that comes with the j2sdk1.4.2. When I click on my desktop icon I get "Java Webstart Application Manager". I highlight "Notepad App" and continue. Notepad opens up I type in my code. Then I click on "Save" and choose my Java folder to save the file. Now at the bottom it says "Files of type... and it seems to me I should be able to save the file as type Java. But all it says is "all files." When I look in my Java folder the file is there but it just says type "file". Isn't it supposed to be saved as a "Java" file?
And I still can't invoke the compiler at the command line nor run my program. But I'm going to try it again.

A java file is a test file with a .java extension. There is nothing special about it.
If you want an editor try eclipse, this edits, compiles, runs, debugs, refactors and much more.

  • Is the single edition app that comes with creative cloud just for apple publishing or can I publish on both apple and android?

Is the single edition app that comes with creative cloud just for apple publishing or can I publish on both apple and android? I'm only seeing information on apple intergration.

You’ll need either a Pro or Enterprise account. And you will have to publish any non-iPad app as multi folio. Single edition, regardless of your plan, is iPad only.

  • Little plastic piece that the nano fits in but what is it for??

Ok, I give up. I feel like I'm on candid camera or something trying to figure out what this random piece of plastic included with the nano is for. The nano fits in one side at a slight angle which is cool, but the underside is configured for something (WHAT??) and is useless for putting the nano in until I figure out what. It definitely doesn't sit on the table.
Go ahead, tell me it's something obvious... I don't care... I just want to know what it is!!!
    iPod Nano (2nd Gen)

Don't worry. It happens to me too, and it's not so obvious. As it is said in this thread, that "random piece of plastic" is an adapter for the universal dock. That means you can use it for plug your iPod Nano into an apple speaker, for example, otherwise you would only plug an iPod (1st, 2nd etc. generation, I mean, "the classical" iPod) on it.
    Greetings.

  • I need to know how to access and use the Blue Tooth device that comes with the Thinkpad W520

Forgive me for being a techo illiterate. But I know that this thing supports Blue Tooth. And one "problem" with it is although it has a DVD and sound card, music and movies have very lousy audibility. Is there something I can do about that? I can barely hear anything on a movie unless I plug in head phones to the computer. But that leaves me stuck in my seat. I'd like to get cordless headsets. And I'm ready to purchase the Plantronics BackBeat 903+ Wireless Stereo Headphones - Mic, Rich Audio, Bass-boost, Voice Alerts, OpenMic, 3-way Earpiece. And have heard that it's compatable with a pc that has Bluetooth capabilities. but could someone get back to me with exactly how I access and use the Blue Tooth device?

I was searching for how to setup the 903+ and my W520 and came to this thread.
    1. The OP was asking about audio and there are updated audio drivers / tweaks to get it louder / install different drivers.
but if you are going to go BT headset....
    2.  What I did for the 903+
Uninstalled the currently installed ThinkPad Bluetooth program. ( I forget the exact name, came stock and was out of date).
    Required reboot.
Activated the Bluetooth with FN + F5 menu.
Downloaded the updated Bluetooth driver from lenovo (search lenovo driver matrix).
Ran the updated Bluetooth driver install.
    Rebooted for good measure.
    Double-clicked the Bluetooth Tray icon.
    Clicked Add A Device.
Turned off my 903+ and continued to hold down the power to enable pairing mode.
Showed up in devices and added it.
Worked for audio. There are probably additional options for enabling the mic.
Hope that helps whoever might find this thread.

  • Does the Windows vista cd that comes with new computers work for MAC?

If you buy a new vista computer, it comes with the vista os on a dvd right? well would this dvd work to install vista on your mac, or is there some sort of security issue?

No it will not, as that DVD is designed only to work on the computer it came with.
"is there some sort of security issue?"
No, but it's a legal issue, as even if it did work, you'd be violating the license agreement that accompanies that copy of Vista.
You would need a retail copy of Vista.
