Illustrator is not working as it should...
I want them to compare the original size and date of creation with what I have installed on my computer... I have installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect the files has been modified or renamed on my laptop by an external unauthorized user causing the malfunction of the application. 
Customer services does not support CS3 anymore and the updates / patches in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the forums for support...
Presently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the swatch panel, it does not fill as it should a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license the swatch seems to fill the new form but when the filter that the swatch has is persistence in the next filling object created even though a different color is being used as a fill (X)... Help in the creation of a swatch over the internet just complicate the issue.
That's why I would like to know whether updates on my product are being received or files are being replaced without my knowledge...

    I saw your post today. 
    Moving the hosts file to the desktop will make it part of a roaming profile?  That's means that activation will occur from any computer that are part and available of my microsoft local network.  How can I make sure that the program I access is the one located on my local C drive and not in a roaming profile in maybe a cloud environment or from an unknown equipment with access to my network without authorization. I have only 1 laptop where I install locally the CS3 suit
    My host file has not entries on it and even when trying to copy to the desktop the activation can not be completed, same problem.  Days ago I used the trial option instead of the activation, after trying to activate the whole product as you mentioned in your reply, the trial period remaining got back to the original 30 days.
    I have recently noticed that I have a roaming profile with a workspace file different to the one I have on my local disk (3 files basic, panel and type).  On the roaming profile I see a directory for adobe illustrator CS3 settings \ workspaces \ AIWSPrefs file which has different entries than the one I have at the local drive.  Normally I do not customize a lot the workspace or safe the setting used, I load the brushes, swatches, etc manually from the location they are on my local drive so the swatches and brushes directories on the roaming profile are empty instead. Adobe Eureka and Kuler palettes exists on the basic local file not in the roaming one.
    The directories on my roaming profile are:
    Acrobat
    Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings

    I purchased from Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5 Student Edition. The deal Adobe had promised was a free upgrade to CS6 as soon as it became available to do so, if i bought the package before a stated date, i did so and installed it. My question is how (or when) do i access my free download of CS6 versions of the software contained within Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5. My pruchase of the product hinged on this promised free upgrade so it is very important to me to find out how/when i can expect the download.

    There is some confusion about the word "discount." As used in the blog post, in general there are no "discounts" for upgrades, there is the upgrade price and there is full price. But, also in the blog post, there is a special "discount upgrade" if you choose to upgrade to CS5.5 today (prior to Dec. 31, 2011), which is 20% off the regular upgrade. However, Peter used the word "discount" to distinguish between upgrade pricing and full price. It's probably a good idea to avoid using that word there because of the potential for confusion.

    You will be able to upgrade to CS6 at upgrade pricing. Not the 20% discount, but it is "discounted" from the full price of CS6.
    I'm still using CS2 Illustrator and Photoshop, for the little work I do in those programs, they're fine. But if I want to upgrade them to CS6 I have to pay the full amount of an upgrade, with no discount... or will I have to pay for CS6 in full for both of these programs?
    You will have to pay the full price (not the "full amount of an upgrade," whatever that means).
    If you elect to upgrade to CS5.5 prior to Dec. 31 of this year, however, then then you can pay the discounted upgrade price to upgrade to CS5.5 (well, CS5 since Photoshop CS5.5 doesn't exist), and then you can pay the CS6 upgrade price in March/April. So you can pay for no upgrades (full price) or two upgrades (one of which is 20% off).
    At the moment I can upgrade CS2, photoshop and Illustrator for €240 each, to CS5. So wouldn't I just be able to do that now and then buy the CS6 upgrade at a much later date perhaps just before CS7 comes out?
    Yes, you can do that.
    If CS6 has the tools to basically go "File>Export>Epub" and I get a fully working epub file without having to trash about in code afterwards or make complex tagging in InDesign, then I'll be buying it.
    It looks like EPUB is evolving pretty fast, so even if ID CS6 fully supports what you want out of EPUB on Day 1, I bet you'll need to be prepared to postprocess it on Day 2. Or at least long before Day 200.

  • Creative Suite 2 Premium for Mac download problem

    I have Creative Suite 2 Premium for Mac and have tried to install it and have been directed to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/ to download a version that will work. According to the install PDF there should be 7 files to download, I can only see 5. There appear to be 2 files missing for the premium version where can I find these please? I've been sent to the forums by a member of the Adobe live chat team.

    That PDF is dated June 2005. I assume it has not been updated for the re-packaged non-activation CS2 downloads, which were made available in Dec 2012.
    Try downloading and installing what's there and see if anything's missing once you've finished installing.
    Or have you already done that? If so, can you be specific about what is definitely missing and we'll try lobbying Adobe to fill in the gaps.

    I have purchased and used Adobe Products for 25+ years and I own CS6 Design Standard outright. 
    I  had previously  subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud  but did not renew the annual subscription. 
    The CS6 Design Standard serial number is listed in my Adobe user account.    I have run the the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaning tool, uninstalled  the Adobe Creative Cloud App and all other CC apps from my iMac.  I reinstalled  fresh copies of the CS6 software two different times, first from  my CS6 DVD disk and then from the  Adobe Download page.  During each installation of CS6, all seemed to run normally and I was prompted to enter the license number and it was accepted.  However, when trying to open the software after completing the installation, I am being prevented from doing so without renewing the Creative Cloud  subscription. 
    Who knows of a solution to this problem? 
    Contacting Adobe’s Chat support and Customer Support portal has not resulted in a solution, even though they have confirmed the license number as being accurate and linked to my account.  After weeks of waiting on their responses, yesterday I was told to go to the Forums to find a solution….Please Help Me….Thanks

  • Serial number provided from Adobe comes up invalid for Creative suite Design Premium S&T

    Hello can you please help. After going through the process of receiving a serial number for my Adobe Student and Teacher edition of Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Mac OS (to use in the UK) I am getting an invalid error trying to activate it. My Computer system is Mac OS X 10.68 and I am not sure what to do now. Their are no letters within the serial number and have only recently been issued with it so im at a bit of a dead end here.

    You need to talk to/ chat with support via web or phone. Nobody can do anything about serial number issues here, much less on a weekend.

    I have had no joy from adobe support or their customer services.  Myself and my student colleague purchased the student edition and have nothing but problems in trying to install this product on XP.
    We so far have carried out all the support requests, such as running the clean up file, deleting folders on the c drive and uninstall.
    WE are desperate to use photoshop.  PLEASE can someone help??????????

    Where did you get the student version? If it was through your school, you should ask the IT folks there.
    It may be an issue with not having anti-virus disabled or some such thing.

    I couldn't open up my adobe programs since apparently i have version 10.9.4 version on my mac and these programs can only be used for versions 10.4.11 to 10.5.4.

    My experience in trying to speak to someone with a 'Extremely Thick Accent' was very unpleasant and aggrivating ... and ended up 'going no where.'

    In short, NO.
    I was hoping that the 7.4.1 update would allow it to work, but it has caused more problems than it is worth.If you do actually get it to work you will see the TC in finder (under Shared) when connected to the internet outside of your home network. What I have found though is that the 7.4.1 firmware update has made using the internet at home almost impossible.
    I have tried Hamachi but it is not reliable.
    I have settled with Dropbox so my files are synced between my home machine and laptop.
