What is the maximum number of physical link we can bind to a ether-channel and port-channel

Hi,
I was studying about port-channel & ether-channel and found that, it can be bind up-to 8 ports. So maximum number, we can have of 8 ports or more ?
For binding we should have minimum of 2 ports or 1 ports will work ? For load-balancing purpose, is the port no. would be in a bundle of 2,4 and 8 ?
Thanks

Hi Kathik,
I have gone through one document. It's saying the below mentioned things :

Re: What is the maximum number of etherchannels we can have?
The maximum number of Etherchannels varies from platform to platform. The maximum number of ports in an etherchannel is either 8 ro 16 depending on the platform. The minimum number of ports in an etherchannel bundle is 1.

Re: What is the maximum number of etherchannels we can have?
Etherchannels is a Cisco term. Other vendors call them 802.3ad trunks. It's common to see something like this in datasheets:
48 ports 10/100/1000 Mbit/s
802.3ad:
Maximum of 32 groups
Maximum of 8 ports per group

1 For the 3550 series switch, when source-MAC address forwarding is used, load distribution based on the source and destination IP address is also enabled for routed IP traffic. All routed IP traffic chooses a port based on the source and destination IP address.
2 For the 6500 series switches that run Cisco IOS, MPLS layer 2 information can also be used for load balancing MPLS packets.

  • What's the maximum number of Apple TVs that can be displayed in the AirPlay list?

We have 50 conference rooms all on the same network and are considering equiping each one with an Apple TV for AirPlay Mirroring our iPad 2s to the rooms projector, or TV. What is the maximum number of Apple TVs that can be displayed in the AirPlay menu to select the correct Apple TV for the conference room being used?

From what you're saying it sounds as though you wouldn't want to Airplay to all AppleTVs at once, just identify them when that specific room in use?
This is one of those uncharted territories wheer most domestic users will not require such a set up - Apple provide no official info about this, but they'd be your best source to ask.

    Hi,
Can anyone explain what is the max number of line items that v can enter in an order....
or if i want to increase the number of line items than the max where it is controlled.
Because my mm counter part is facing this in the PO he could make only 9999,the problem is when posting...the accounting document is not getting generated bcas of exceeding the limit.

    hi,
this is my personal experiance that we can enter at the most 499 line items in SALES ORDER.
This is because for every line item there will be 2 financial entries, debit and credit. and 1 FI document can have at the most 999 line items (which we can not increase without KEY fromSAP)
If we divide 999 by 2 then it comes to 499.50 so you can enter at the most 499 line items in Sales order.

  • What is the maximum number of matching entires that can be included in a filter ?

I have created a message filter for "junk".
I seem to have added one too many entries and now it does not filter any new "junk" entries.
I have deleted some of the new entries and added them again, only to find they are not filtered.

You may be right about CLI vs GUI differences...
Call me a geek - but I wanted to see what would happen when my system hit the limit. So I saved all open documents, used a loop to create 40 passwordless accounts, then set up a login item so that on login, FUS would be invoked to log in to the next sequential uid.
When I came back (some time later), the system was logged in to the 40th user, and with a few exceptions, things seemed to be working ok...
The most obvious problem was that SystemUIServer was crashed in most of the users. I'm not sure when that started, but at some point after so many logins, it wasn't possible to launch the SystemUIServer, meaning no FUS menu (among other things). Other programmes launched and worked ok, though a bit sluggish (I had 7 swap files at that point, where it is rare for me to have more than two). But "Terminal.app" worked fine, and FUS was possible via command line so that wasn't a big problem, and the few other accounts I switched over to check were in a similar state.
The "Accounts" pref pane seems to be limited to showing 42 accounts (I had several accounts prior to creating the 40 test accounts), but the FUS menu (viewed from an account where SystemUIServer hadn't crashed) showed them all. I forgot to check the "Login Window".
Of course, there may be other things that don't work under these conditions that I didn't stumble across, but depending on whether or not SystemUIServer is required, and probably load and RAM availability, it looks like it is possible to squeeze at least 40 logins at once on a system.
And again, this obviously isn't "official" in any way.

  • What is the maximum number of user accounts that can be logged in at once?

How many users can be logged in at once, using Fast User Switching (FUS)?
Ideally, I'd like an "official" answer from Apple, or if someone can refer me to "official" Apple documentation that answers this question, that would be fine.
I think the answer is 10 but need to know for sure.
    Thanks in advance!

  • What is the maximum number of files that Finder can display in a directory?

When displaying systems in an Active Directory domain, Finder only displays some of the systems.
I presume that Finder is treating the list of SMB/CIFS systems as if they were entries in a file directory. The number of systems that should appear in the list is around 10,000 but only about half of these are displayed in Finder.
Is there a way to increase the number of systems displayed in Finder?

Yes, I am working with a Windows Active Directory domain.
When using Finder>Network> to display systems in an Active Directory domain, it fails to display all of the systems. Is there a Finder limitation that causes this?
When the system was originally brought online, only the local systems that were members of the Active Directory domain were displayed. Over time, the number of systems that have been "discovered" has increased. The entries are maintained in ascending alphabetical order. Currently, only systems with names beginnig with A through M are listed.
This creates a bit of a problem for our Technical Publications group as all of the systems in our facility start with the letter T.
Does Finder have a limit on how many entries that it can display for a given directory?
Is the list of Active Directory systems being maintained in memory and, hence, limited by memory resources?
Is there a way to filter the list?

  • What is the maximum number of text characters

Probably has been asked before, but what is the maximum number of text characters that can be used in a song title and still be burned to a disk. TIA

Are the files tucked away in some deeply nested folder. I've not used Toast (being a PC) but my experience of other burning software suggests that it is usually designed to truncate the filenames to meet the specification of the format it is using. Also I believe "Red Book" is the audio standard so the output will simply be a number of audio tracks with the accompanying index. Filenames on the output end should be irrelevant, unless you've enabled CD Text which is not Red Book standard, and again Toast should enforce any field limits. Perhaps Toast is having trouble reading the files rather than a problem writing them. I assume the files are on an internal drive and you are not trying to burn DRM'd files.
Use a rewritable disc and clone a small audio file multiple times, giving them filenames of 40,45,50,55 etc. characters then try to burn them in a list of increasing length of filename - see which one Toast hangs on.

  • What is the maximum number of characters in an Oracle 10G Instance Name

    All,
Can I know what is the maximum number of characters in an oracle 10g instance name under AIX? Is it 7 characters or 8 characters?
    regards
    Santhosh

One should really make the difference between db_name and instance_name: if instance_name default value is db_name it can be different
(even on a non RAC database).
For example with Oracle 10.2.0.4 you can create a database named DB78 with instance_name=DB12345678:
    $ uname -a
    Linux lx01.localdomain 2.6.18-92.el5 #1 SMP Fri May 23 22:17:30 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

    oracle    6353     1  0 20:30 ?        00:00:01 ora_smon_DB12345678

    $ export ORACLE_SID=DB12345678

  • What is the maximum number of columns that can be displayed by sqlplus?

    Hello,
    Questions:
Is there a limit on what sqlplus can display?
What is the maximum number of columns that can be displayed by sqlplus?
I cannot find anything on this in my search. I checked the limits page:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14357/apa.htm#sthref3658
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16604/apa.htm#i635278
It does not specify any column limits; however, I'm thinking it is tied to LINESIZE which is system dependent.
    Please confirm if true.
    Thanks!

Received answer directly from SQL*Plus Development:
"sqlplus does not have a limit on the number of columns it displays."
They created a table with more than 256 columns with data and had no problem retrieving the data.

  • TS1503 what is the maximum number of pictures I can store and keep on my iPhone 3G?

What is the maximum number of pictures I can store (and keep indefinitely) on my iPhone 3GS (8GB)?

It is a balancing act between your photos and everything else you have on the device (apps, mail, messages, etc.), so there is no specific "number" we can give you. Just keep track of your available memory, and make sure you back up your photos regularly so if you reach the maximum memory capacity, you can delete the oldest ones without worrying that they are not saved somewhere else:

What is the maximum number of photos in an iphoto book?

Depends on the theme and the page layouts you - choose - a book has a maximum of 100 pages and as far as I have seen the most photos on a page is 16 - so 1600 would be the Max if you used 100 pages of 16 photos each
