This means your device need to be connected with your carrier network. In other words, SIM card need to be inserted and device should be turned on and connected.

  • What are the best devices to use in my car to listen to music on my 3rd gen iPod Nano?

What are the best devices on the market today to use in my car to listen to music on my 3rd Gen iPod nano?  I currently use the Monster device that plugs into the electrical adapter (former cigarrette lighter!) in the car.  It's a pain in the neck to manually search for unused FM stations on a long trip. I want something that automatically searches for unsused FM stations or, better yet, that will allow me to somehow connect the iPod into the CD player or directly to the radio itself.  I have a 2004 Toyota Highlander.
Any suggestions for quality after-market products from the Forum?

If you have files with the .m4v or .m4a extension its better to change them to .mp4. The M4 extensions will sometimes download in the browser instead of playing.
A usefull free app for file conversion is Miro...

It can quickly convert to all the formats you need to load for html5 playback: MP4, OGG, WebM
If you include these three, fallback to flash will only be required for Internet Explorer V 8 and older. V 9 is supposed to support html5 but I haven't actually seen any proof of this.
Players like flowplayer and JWLongtail are convenient because the control bar icon be customized. This lets you get away from the nasty looking QT control bar.

  • What's the difference between EQ off and flat?

What is the difference between EQ off and flat? Are all the frequency's at the same place as if it were flat?

OFF uses iTunes EQ settings, if any.
FLAT overrides iTunes EQ settings, if any
    Close.
In Flat, if a song has a preset EQ set in iTunes, it
will use that preset, otherwise it does not use any
    EQ.
In Off, the EQ is not used at all.
Page 28 of the very fine manual for 2n Gen nano:
    Using the Equalizer
You can use equalizer presets to change the sound on iPod nano to suit a particular music genre or style. For example, to make rock music sound better, set the equalizer to Rock. To use the equalizer to change the sound on iPod nano:
Choose Settings > EQ and choose an equalizer preset.
If you assigned an equalizer preset to a song in iTunes and the iPod nano equalizer is set to Off, the song plays using the iTunes setting. See iTunes Help for more information.
Hmmmm...? There's nano's EQ and iTunes' EQ...

  • What is the latest device software?

hi, can you please tell me what is the latest device software official relase for bb 9900 ?

Change logs are the responsibility of the carriers to release, and so many of them just never do so. In general, a later OS level would be "better" than an older one, as it would contain bug fixes and new features/functions that are absent in the older version. But, nothing more exact than that can be provided...it is up to you to choose the OS level you desire to operate on.
    Good luck!

what is the slot0: device on the MSFC used for? I can use the bootflash: device but there is no success operation with the slot0:

    You need to reference sup-slot0:.
The slot0: is nothing but the external PCMCIA memory card connected to the switch. So if you have external PCMCIA card inserted in the Switch, only then you can see the result with slot0:
The above solution is based on the assumption that you are native IOS on the switch. In Hybrid mode one cannot access the slot0:

  • HT4203 what is the difference between turning off "enable 3G" and "cellular data"

what is the difference between turning off "enable 3G" and "cellular data"?

Turning enable 3G off turns 3G network access off. This does not prevent the iPhone from internet access via your carrier's EDGE or GPRS network which is much slower.
Turning Cellular Data off turns cellular data off completely. No internet access via your carrier's cellular network.

  • What is the network device / brand / model can do this !

I'm not sure I would want to put all of that on one product and rely on it solely.
Getting 2 products to share the load might be a better option rather than having a single device do all the work.
Its your call but throwing it out there so you are aware this is then your sole internet 'hub' if you like, this goes down so does email, internet, vpn, filtering, load balancing, the lot.
Unless you are planning on getting 2 to load balance these.

Hello Folks .. network experts and consultants.
I did a lot of research for this and i found a lot of products from many vendros, but each product does only one or two jobs. my business environment requires me to have this all for about 150 users,  so i need your help
What is the device that can provide do following Jobs.Multiple wan load balancingInternet content / URL / keywords filtering  ( Without annual license )Firewall / anti phishing / anti-spamVPN Because i am sure that most of us in the situation that requires this.

  • What is the lastest Device OS for an 8310

Our company has about 30 8310 on a BES server (4.1.6 rollout 1).   Reading though the docs it states that some parts work better when the hand held decives are at version 4.5.  I looked and our phones are 4.2.X  What is the lastest version of the phone OS and where can it download from?  ALso can it be pushed though the BES Server?
    Thanks,
    Jon

greasy--I didn't see what carrier your devices are on.
But if you want to load the most recent officially released OS to the devices, it is fine. The OS's are not carrier dependent.
Here is the link to latest version, with full instructions, step by step. Follow the instructions as posted and in order as posted and you will be fine.

  • BBM Across Platform, what about the older devices?

Yes, as we all heard is that bbm is coming to android and Iphone. We all know that BB10 does not us BIS and the older devicec need BIS to operate to the full, why can blackberry not open this to all so that i can bbm without BIS on my older device? yesBIS is nice but what about the people that want to use their older phones like the BB10.
Only some features work without BIS, like the excample whatsapp, browser but all the good stuff like Blackberry world are blocked as well as Blackberry Protect, Facebook and so i can go on ....
Let the people that want BIS get it like that and the other that want it without BIS get it like that then Blackberre will be more flexible.
Cant they see they will now loose more customers to the other platforms where they can keep the people on the older native devices ....Please Blackberry UNBLOCK US ....

Yes, 1.19GB of "other" is normal.  Normal is a little over 1GB.

  • What is the earliest device to realistically test iPhone apps on?

I am aware that many of the older devices do not have camera's or flash.  However, if a dev creates a 'generic' app that does not utilize those features, what device should he/she realistically  'target' for his app development?  We can set our Deployment for iOS 3.1 or whatever, but at the end of the day, that may not make much sense without having some factual statitstic's to rely on.
I would like to purchase an older 'device' to test app's on, such as a 2nd gen iPod (running iOS 3.1), to test with.  But, not knowing how many of those devices are still being used, is that a good device to purchase and test with?  I'd hate to purchase one only to discover that I should have purchased a later model.
All comments and suggestions are most welcome.
    Thanks.

Do you want to test 3.1.x regardless of device ...or...just non-camera devices regardless of iOS version? Which of those meets your definition of 'broader audience'?
I just want to test on non-camera/torch devices.  My original app is a gratuity calculator which includes a flashlight and a magnifying glass.  As mentioned above, the Lite version will only have the gratutity calculator.  So, my Lite goal is to reach as many folks as I can with that particular configuration.

You can build an app that detects flash and camera and hides them (UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities), but to also do 3.x gets complicated. You may want to build an app that doesn't go below 4.x, and deals with camera/flash missing and simply find someone to test for you. The current simulator has neither
Glad you brought this up because I set the 'Capabilities' to Camera only and the app would not even run on my iP4.  All Xcode4 said was 'Finished running on ...'.  Re-booting both my iMac and Xcode did nothing to change this.  Never figured that out, but because I am targeting only the iP4, I am no longer worried about this, so I removed those build specs. My current Deployment target is 4.0, but I can change that.  Thanks for your comments in this regard.
    I appreciate the help.
