What is the minimum permission required to discover the Farms in the Sahrepoint Server?

What is the minimum permission required to discover the Farms in the SahrePoint Server?
Do I need to have the access to the SharePoint Database?
I want to do this with help of a 3rd Party API.
Thanks
psarroj

Access to SharePoint doesn't necessarily give access to the SharePoint databases.  See Add-SPShellAdmin description.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607596.aspx
Permissions on the databases themselves is often required when accessing SharePoint information programmatically.

  • What is the windows server 2013 license version than I need to install workflow manager 1.0

what is the windows server 2013 license version than I need to install workflow manager 1.0?
enterprise or standard? can I install it on datacenter?
please provide me with the reference.
    thanks

Workflow Manager will work with either SharePoint Enterprise or Standard.  It doesn't work well with Foundations since it depends on User Profiles to pass user identity to the workflow.  And yes you can install it on Windows Server datacenter edition.
Here are the supported platforms for installation
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj193487(v=azure.10).aspx
This article talks about integration with SharePoint and states that Foundation is not supported, but it doesn't differentiate between the Server editions, so any edition will do.

  • What's the "web server" in WAS... ?

A non-SAP colleague of mine bugs me with questions like "what is the web server-part of WAS? It's Apache, right?"
Me being relatively ignorant about these specific down-to-earth technical sides to the WAS, means I have to ask: What IS the "web server" part of WAS...? Is it a brand new built-from-scratch web server, or did SAP bundle a 3rd-party product like Apache into the "basis" system?
    Trond

    Hi Trond,
good question. The SAP Application Server evolved into the SAP Web Application Server back in 2000 with the addition of the Internet Communication Manager (ICM). The ICM support the HTTP protocol (a web sever) and was written complete by SAP. SAP then introduced the SAP J2EE Engine, this to contains support for HTTP.
In a full blown Web AS (ABAP + J2EE), requests are sent to the ICM and then passed to either the ABAP stack (BSP apps) or the passed to the J2EE HTTP port if the request is for a J2EE web app.
So in short, SAP wrote their own Web Server...thus you don't need to purchase 3rd part web servers.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,
    Jeff

  • HT1766 what does 'the activation server is temporarily down' mean?

what does 'the activation server is temporarily down' mean?

That you may have jailbroken your phone. You may have used that computer to jailbreak a phone. You may have a bad hosts file on the computer because of that. There are many reasons, but generally those are the main ones. According to this http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ there are no system outages.

  • How to find what port the admin server is running

how can I find out what port the admin server is running on a server?
    thanks,

    Hi
Go to your domain root folder/config and open config.xml file in any editor. Search for the name of the admin server which is typically like AdminServer and under this tag see if you have a tag by name <listen-port>. If yes, then you should see the port number. If not, it means it is running at default port of 7001.
If you have admin access, i hope when you login you will be giving url like http://adminhost:adminport/console. Now this adminport is the port on which admin server is running. If not, then check config.xml file.
    Thanks

  • When you publish a webpart what should the debugging server be set to?

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy a webpart in Visual Studio.
First of all, it says which local site do you want to use for debugging? Should this be a SharePoint server on your local machine that you are using VS on which will be different from the remote server you deploy to? On my local pc there are 3 web sites
    - SharePoint - 80, SharePoint Central Administration v4 and SharePoint Web Services. Which one should it be?
And if this is what you need to do then, when it comes to deploying the webpart, how does VS know where to deploy it to? Because the server will be elsewhere. Also should it be deployed to the app or web server?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
It is required to do the web part development in the machine with SharePoint Server installed cause we will need to use the SharePoint Object Model in our development,
so please choose a site(you can use the “SharePoint - 80”) in the local server for “What local site do you want to use for debugging” option and the web part solution can be deployed to this site during our development.
    Here is a link about
Create Visual Web Parts in SharePoint 2010:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff597539(v=office.14).aspx
If you want to publish it to other servers, there will be a solution package(.wsp) generated after we publish our solution, we can upload install this solution package
to a specific server as you want.
Deploy solution packages (SharePoint Server 2010)

  • What is the Application Server with less errors in the installation phase?

    Hi all!
According to your experience, what is the trial version that has less problems to install? Is it for Windows or Linux?
    thanks!

    Hi
Unfortunately i haven't tried installing any trial version yet and iam not sure about installation errors
they are not campatible with home PCs
Yes i would agree to this i have seen lot of post in SDN there is some problem with vista home edition on Trial versions
I would always recommand to use JDK1.4.2_16 which is more compatable, with 1.4.2_18 and 1.4.2_19 we are currently having massive stack overflow
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html
Note 716604 - Access to Sun J2SE and recommended J2SE options
when it get in the Import ABAP phase, it took more than 8 hours waiting for it to be concluded and it didn't! It cannot be normal!
It again depends upon the RAM and the virtual Memory you have and provided

  • "Sync Server could not Sync with iPhone". What is the Sync Server?

Whenever I sync iPhone and Windows computer via USB I get a message saying "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone "name" because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone".
    What is wrong?

I used this on a Mac, but it might apply to iTunes in Windows:
I posted the following to iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone "xx" because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone. What does this mean??
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15820680#15820680
I haven't seen it mentioned but the secret is to
    Sync only selected calendars
Select "Remove Calendars" from the popup window
(This is ambigous: from where are the calendars removed?  From the device being synced to)
    Click apply.
Oops!  My memory is already gone stale.  I think I left no calendars selected, then clicked apply.  Then I selected the calendars that I wanted, then clicked apply.
In any case, I had a blank calendar on my iPad and then I had all the updated events that I wanted on my iPad.
Thanks to all who provided some of the essential clues to resolving this problem.

  • What are the gmail server entries (SMTP, IMAP)?

I cannot access my gmail account. the following  IMAP server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Check network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "Incoming Mail Server" field.
Question: what is this "correct information for the Incoming Mail Server"?
    Thanks for your help!

Sorry for being thick but my pop setup in the past didn't seem this complex.
That's because POP isn't that complex, but IMAP is, which is precisely why I don't ever intend to use it, and maybe you shouldn't, either.
Gmail doesn't offer a true IMAP protocol; it's their own unique hybrid. With IMAP, the account is really on the Gmail server and a mirror image is on your Mac in the Mail program. There are very few people who really need an IMAP account, and it does create problems because there's a lot of "chatter" between Mail and the Gmail server to keep everything in sync, and that can slow down your Mac a great deal, depending on the types of messages you send and get, and whatever other applications are running at the same time.
If you use POP email, you can keep all your mail on your Mac, and you can choose to leave your received email on the Gmail server if you like, so that if you ever need to see them again for some reason, you can.
There are people who will disagree with my position, as you'd expect, but in the end it's really your decision as to what works best for you.

  • What about the admin server not working?

    Hello,
I noticed that, even when the admin server is down, the LDAP server nicely serves search, create or modify clients requests. At least the extended operation persistent search works as well.
My question is what does stop working in the DS if the admin server is down?
    - Likely the Server console.
    - SNMP monitoring?
    - Replication?
    - SSL authentication?
    - What else?
My concern is of course Linux ES 3.0 support.
    Thanks for all your answers.

The admin server is just a http server used for administration with the console. Most admin functions can also be done from the command line, so it's really GUI administration that you are losing.

  • What is the web server to support dbconsole of database 11gr2?

I have installed oracle database software 11.2.0.2 on solaris10, and configured the dbconsole for a SID database. All run as expected, such as accessing the web oem console and etc.
I cannot find what the web server in the 11.2.0.2 install to support the dbconsole.
Seems there is no Apache server installed for 11.2.0.2.
Only the following processes are relevant:
    oracle 2226 28792 0 09:38:56 pts/1 0:38 /oracle/.../11.2.0/bin/emagent
    oracle 28792 1286 0 11:36:33 pts/1 1:58 /oracle/../11.2.0/perl/bin/perl /oraclebase/product/11.2.0/bin/emwd.pl
Any idea about the web server in 11.2.0.2?

JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology used in 11.2.0.2 instead of Apache server
