What is the most demaming develop dba out for as oracle 10g?

I am look into develop a dba to sale, what is the most demaming database out
there for company small to mid business?

OcpJames,
As I understand it you want to develop an HR application for resale. I developed a HR/Personnel Management System a long time ago. It took a long time to develop mostly due to the many layers of reporting and government regulation that must be accounted for, and was a hard sell. I'm sure by now that has gotten even worse with Sarbanes/Oxley, etc. In addition many states having differing regulations and reporting. I would be extremely surprised if any company would risk running their HR system on a remote server or would use a remote DBA due to the risk involved, since they are directly responsible under the law. However, you might be able to find a niche market where you can fill a need, and that is certainly what I would aim for. Study the marketplace and determine what that would be, try to find a customer that will work with you and go for it.
Keep Smiling,
Bob R

    Sorry for my typo. Ofice 2008 will continue to run on Leopard and Leopard includes Safari 5.0.6. A G4 s an old machine and you will not get much speed when surfing the internet.
    Leopard is no longer avilable from Apple, and costs around $200 on eBay or Amazon.

  • What is the most secure password transfer method for POP3 supported by Thunderbird?

    I will receive eMail from a POP3-Server that support encrypted transfer of passwords with the SASL-Methods "SCRAM-SHA-1" and "SCRAM-SHA-256" (successful tested with the command line tool 'mpop') but Thunderbird say that the Server does not support encrypted transfer of Passwords. I think in real Thunderbird does not support the strong Methods offered by the POP3-Server.
    What is the most secure method for Password transfer on POP3 that is supported by Thunderbird?

  • What are the steps to be carried out for  installing 0cca_cc1 - business

    Hi All,
    what are the steps to be done for 0cca_cc1 for installation of business content and then how is the data extracted from r/3?
      - how to install nor use the standard queries and there are 2 update rules how to activate them too? for 0cca_cc1.
    Pls let me know the url for standard datasource for 0cca_cc1
    Thanks
    Pooja

    Goto source system (e.g. R/3). Execute RSA5 transaction.CLick on SAP and press + symbol on the top. then press find to get your datasource. press activate datasource. This will activate your datasource. In RSA6 you will get the activated datasource.
    Then in BI side you replicate your datasources and the installed datasource will be visible. Then create the data flow if not installed.
    Delta is relatively a big topic. Refer following:
    /people/swapna.gollakota/blog/2007/12/27/how-does-a-datasource-communicates-delta-with-bw
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2004/12/23/logistic-cockpit-delta-mechanism--episode-two-v3-update-when-some-problems-can-occur
    What you need to do from your end is create init infopackage, load the data. Once done create delta infopackage and load the data. If you are in 7.x then need to create DTP accordingly.
    But just remember the datasource should be delta capable. In infopackage when you get only full option then you can say the datasource is not delta capable.

  • What is the most useful vst/audio-unit for recording bass guitar?

    Hey, I'm fairly new to logic and I've been searching for a program that I can use with a bass guitar and get some cool effects going, but I have no idea what they are called I mean something like absynth, but less crazy, more for just recording a standard bass line, with combinations of effects like absynth.
    Sorry if i don't make sense!

    I'm not entirely sure what you mean (Absynth applies some pretty extreme treatment to audio), but I'd suggest you'd want to use Logic's compressor and EQ for starters. Chorus, flanging or phasing can be useful, although they can muddy the sound, particularly if used in the context of a song arrangement, so careful usage is required.
    Reverb and delay are not often applied to bass guitar, unless you're talking about solo work, in which case they may be very effective. There are other Logic plug-ins that will produce more extreme fx, like autofilter, ringshifter, tremelo etc.
    And don't forget about the amp simulations and guitar pedal sims if you're on Logic 9 (try these first if you haven't already).
    The best thing is to experiment

  • What is the most recent stable release of Oracle Coherence?

    What is the most recent stable release(or versions) of Oracle Coherence?

    We are using 3.5.1 with Patch1.
    You will need to download Patch1 from MetaLink (and hence need an OracleID).
    Continuous Queries don't work in 3.5.1 and there are a number of other small bugs.
    I understand there are a few problems with Coherence*Web in 3.5.1.p1 (but we aren't using that).
    Here's the patch1 list (its 2521 that was an issue for us) :
    Issue COH-2569: CacheFactory and CacheFactoryBuilder do not respect CacheFactory.setConfigurableCacheFactory()
    Issue COH-2568: CacheFactoryBuilder doesn't check the configurable-cache-factory-config element when the non-default URI is passed to getFactory
    Issue COH-2548: ClassNotFoundException can occur if multiple web applications are deployed when using application or EAR scoped cluster nodes
    Issue COH-2547: NPE in Daemon.isGuarded()
    Issue COH-2543: The optimistic locking mode does not reject updates to sessions that have been concurrently invalidated
    Issue COH-2524: Multiple DefaultConfigurableCacheFactory instances fail returning NamedCaches on the same service
    Issue COH-2521: CQC does does not propagate asynchronous events
    Issue COH-2515: ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException in SafeSortedMap
    Issue COH-2495: Time to expand off-heap partitions when loading the cache is very slow with initial-size=1MB

  • What is the most effective way to write Statement to catch and reverse errors during query excution?

    Hello my friends:
    I am wondering what is the most effective way to deal with errors, specifically in a
    Stored Procedure.
    I wrote something like this:
    BEGIN TRY
    BEGIN TRANSACTION
    /*My statements goes in here*/
    IF ERROR_NUMBER() = 0 -- Do I need this line?
    COMMIT TRANSACTION;
    END TRY
    BEGIN CATCH
    IF ERROR_NUMBER() > 0 --Do I need this line?
    ROLLBACK TRANSACTION;
    END CATCH;
    It would make sense using the if Statement when attempting to log errors.
    Just too many variations.
    Thanks

  • What's the most recent Mini I can install Leopard On

    I need Classic + Rosetta. What is the most recent Mini I can really put Leopard (OS 5.x)  on? Not that it shipps with, but will actually install and work. Or can copy onto from a clone which will run?
    TIA,
    Bill

    Three options:
    1.  Purchase the Late-2005 Mac Mini (PowerMac10,2).  This was the last PowerPC Mac Mini that can run the Classic Environment in Tiger; so it does not need Rosetta.
    2.  Purchase the Mid-2010 Mac Mini (macmini4,1).  This model comes with Snow Leopard, which is the last version of OS X to allow Rosetta.  Rosetta must be optionally installed. For Word 5.1, see below.
    3.  Purchase the Mid-2011 Mac Mini (Macmini5.1).  This model comes with Lion, but if you follow the work of newfoundglory in this thread, you can downgrade (or dual-partition) this model to Snow Leopard (for Word 5.1, see below):
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17829389#17829389
    For the younger folk reading this thread, the OP is among the few remaining purists that loved Microsoft Word 5.1 on the Mac.  A little bit of history:
    Until the Mac was developed and released, Microsoft was almost exclusively an Operating System and Programming software company (Multiplan being the first and sole applications software exception at that time).
    Steve Jobs recruited Bill Gates and Microsoft to set up a programming team to build applications for the Mac, then in development.  Out of the effort came Word 1.0 (yes, Word was originally written exclusively for the Mac).
    This program was ultimately refined until version 5.1.  Then  with the release of version 6, Mac users were horrifed as the program had been "window-fied" and it was never as pure a Mac program since...
    Now back to our originally program, already in progress:
    You can run Word 5.1 on an Intel Mac in a Classic emulator program known as SheepShaver (and its cousin, Chubby Bunny).  I use SheepShaver to run Classic Word Perfect, among other Classic apps.
    Here is a recent post I made about this Classic emulator:
    With the newer Intel Macs, you have to run a Classic emulator such as SheepShaver, which requires you to extract the Mac ROMs from your older Classic Mac and then install Mac OS 9.
    A related program is Chubby Bunny, which comes bundled with all of that included.

  • Laptop editing with Premiere Pro CS4: what are the most important specs

    Laptop Editing: What are the MOST important specs?
    Hello everybody, I have been a long time lurker, but I decided to join in and share my voice.
    I've been editing, for a while now, various projects of various lenghts shot on my HV20, on an IMac using Adobe Premiere Pro. Actually, I bought the CS4 Extended Production Suite last year  thinking that it made sense to be able to edit, do the coloring and effects+ sound all within the same suite.
    AND, it came with OnLocation, wich is, I think, a fantastic tool. I really want to be able to record and monitor my future shoots using OnLocation. I've seen how useful monitors and scopes are on set, and the idea of being able to shoot in HD and actually checking the focus on something larger than a few inches is very appealling!
    So a laptop is in my future. Now, what are the most important specs?
    I could buy 1) a barely used Macbook pro early 08- 17" HD led display ,4g Ram ddr2 ,nvidia 8600M GT 512 VRAM ,800Mhz BUS, 200G 7200HD
    and have enough money left to buy an Apple Display 30" refurb
    OR 2) a new Macbook pro 17, 4 g Ram ddr3, 512 VRAm, 4g Ram ddr3, double procsessors 9400M+9600M GT 512 VRAM, 1066 BUS, 500G 7200HD
    and wait for a second display!
    Plus, of course, a portable External Scratch Drive on the Express Card. Now, if that fast drive is handling the footage, could'nt I settle for a 5400HD in the laptop,, they seem much less prone to problems-clicking noise, heat-than the 7200, especially in the new unibody model. Is 800 versus 1066 BUS a terrible trade-off? In terms of secondary displays , I've heard less than lukewarm things about the new Apple 24 LED (glossy is no-no for me).
    My intentions are to make documentaries and short fictions as well. I make a living as an actor so I don't need to be performing as a director/editor business wise!
    I do want to explore that side of the craft, in a professional and enjoyable way though. I know that, in addition to the laptop, I will get a MacPro in a few years.
    Thanks a lot for the inputs!

    Successful video editing (as compared to tear your hair out video editing) requires at least two hard drives... one for all software and one for all data... some people use 3 drives, with data on one and scratch files on the 3rd drive
    I'm not sure about software, but everything I've ever read in this forum says 5400 is NOT fast enough for the data drive
    If you want to edit video... you have to buy the hardware that works

    CPU, RAM, bus speed, system HD, external HD, graphics - basically in that order
    You should think in terms of purchasing for maximum future use. In that regard the new 17" MacBookPro is the way to go. The specs are significantly better than the early '08 MacBook and you will be much happier in the long run with performance, software support and longevity.
    If you really need a large display, consider a 24" Dell, HP, NEC, etc. in the $200-$300 price range to stay within your total budget. You will be pleasantly surprised how good they are.
    You could start out with the 5400rpm system HD - you can replace it anytime with a 7200rpm drive if necessary for hardly any more $ than it would cost in the first place; and replacing it does NOT void your warranty. But you WILL want/need a good external FW800 or eSATA drive (for eSATA you will need an eSATA expressCard/34 however) no matter what.
    One other thought, if your primary use will be with an external display, and you don't actually need eSATA capability (FW800 will do you just fine at this point), then the 15" 2.66GHz or 2.8GHz MacBookPro models will be just fine at a significantly lower cost than the 17" model.

  • The future of java and what is the most necessary skill to learn

    hi, friends,
    This is a serious question, so please answer seriously.
    1. The future of java
    Are there any future for java? What I mean are: are there any jobs for java developer in the future? are there any chances for new java company to survive?
    2. What is the most needed skill in so many java technology?
    There are so many sections in java technology. so what is the most needed one for one to find a job? what is the most promising section for one to build a company.
    Thank your very much!

    It's a lousy question really.
    1) There are very few companies you'd call a 'java company'. There are companies that use java, but they also by and large use C++, DBMS systems, and a whole host of other technologies. If java died, they'd switch to whatever technology killed it. Any decent programmer is flexible enough to learn a new language in a matter of weeks. It's the ability to work with the theory behind the code rather than the knowledge of syntax that's important.
    2) It depends entirely on what you're doing. Working with a company where databases are key? Then you need Oracle, or SQL. Working with web technology? Perl, JSP, PHP, stuff like that is what you want. Working in high performance application design? You need C++. Graphics? Take a look at OpenGL or Java3d.
    The most promising section to build a company? If there was a straight answer to that 1000 companies would have sprung up already and filled the niche.
    Basically, if you want a successful career in programming, don't become a java programmer, become a programmer full stop. If you think you'll be working with java when you retire in 40-odd years you're mistaken. You need to grasp the basic concepts of application and algorithm design, and be quick to learn new technologies and evaluate them against what exists already.
    It can take 3 years to go from complete newbie to fluent in a single programming language. It can then take less than 3 days to become fluent in another.

  • What is the most efficent way to create both a standard and HD DVD

    Hi,
    I'm just getting into HD video editing, and I have relatives who will be several years behind me. I will be making HD DVD's for myself to use, but I will also need to make standard DVD's to send to my relatives.I am assuming that the HD DVD's I create will not play in a standard DVD player. I may be wrong. However, If this is correct, is there a particular point in the process of working with Encore where I can make that choice, create the DVD, and then go back and alter it in order to create the other type without destroying and having to redo everything that was done up to that point?

    Thank you Hunt. Being ahead of most of the rest of the world and getting the best technology out there can be a pain sometimes. Reading through Jon Geddes' article left me scratching my head several times, and some of it went way over my head, but I'll keep at it, until it sinks in. Some language, terms, and shorthand, I'm sure are simple to understand to a lot of people, but I'm not in that catagory. I'll just keep working at it.

    Subject: what is the most efficent way to create both a standard and HD DVD
    I would edit the Project in HD in PrPro. The BD authoring part will be straight workflow.
    For the SD DVD-Video, you have a few choices. You can Export to DV-AVI Type II for Import into a new Encore Project for the DVD. Some feel that PrPro does not do a good job at down-rezing from HD to SD. For a workflow that will likely yield better quality, see this http://www.precomposed.com/blog/2009/07/hd-to-sd-dvd-best-methods/. If you have PrPro/Encore CS4, then Jeff Bellune's /thread/487134?tstart=0 might be useful to you. Just follow the links to the tutorial.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
