What is the multiplexing sequency for the DAQ cards?

I have a PCMCIA DAQ card (AI-16E-4). How does the multiplexing work on the that card?
In my setup I connect the same signal to channel 0 and channel 3 (differential termination). I notice that the acquisition of channel 0 is delayed by what appears to be half of the time increment between samples.
Does that sound right? I would have expected channel 3 to be delayed. Is there a way to know how the delay works?
Thanks,
Jerome.

Hi Jerome,
The multiplexer(mux) on your card will sample all of the channels in order. That is, channel 0 will be sampled first, and the channel 1, and so on. What happens is the mux will then take all of those samples and send that information to the ADC. With Traditional DAQ, the convert of all channels will be done as quickly as possible between sample clocks.
I hope this helps. Have a Great Day!

  • How SCXI modules are multiplexed into one Channel of the DAQ card?

    Hi all,
    I am Sirisha from Hyderabad.
I am a new to NI hardware.
    take the below mentioned senario.
Suppose i am using SCXI-1000 chassis with SCXI-1520 and 3 SCXI-1102 modules and PCI-6070E DAQ card.
now i know that if i connect the DAQ card to the SCXI chassis through sh-6868 cable and 1349 adapter, all channels of SCXI modules are multiplxed into the 0th channel of DAQ card.
Here i want the detailed explanation of theory of multiplexion on how all the scxi channels go to 0th channel of DAQ card
    Thanks in advance
    regards
    Preetam

    Sirisha,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
Here is a KnowledgeBase article entitled "How Are SCXI Channels Multiplexed While Having Other Inputs On The DAQ Card?"
There is a little more specific information about multiplexed mode here.

    Hi Lionel,
As a general rule of thumb, the ATI Rage 128 Pro will not support a 20" LCD. That being said, there are reports of it doing just that (possibly the edition that went into the cube).
I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of the Cube, so I can't give you authoritative information on it.

  • Can I develop a data acquisition app without the DAQ card installed?

    I'm new to LabView.
I would like to build a simple data acquisition app (graphical display and logging). I would prefer to build this on my desktop, and then install/run it on a laptop.
I'm not sure how to work this as the DAQ card and driver are not installed on my desktop. Is there a (hopefully) simple way to configure a data source in labview so that the app will automatically (or at least easily) connect to the existing driver?
At the end of the day I don't want to install the complete dev system on my cheap little laptop just for this one application.
    TIA,
    Michael

yes you can develop an application without having a daq card installed. You still will use the same functions in labVIEW. If you are using labVIEW 6.1 they are under the data acquisition palette in the block diagram. If you are using LV7 there are now two types of data acquisition functions. Traditional NI Daq (before lv 7) and new Daq MX. The daq functions are under the NI Measurements palette in LV7. If you are new to LV I suggest you use the daq assistant on the bottom of the palette. This will allow you to easily configure what you want, the drawback is that you will need to use this on the computer that has the card. So try the traditionaly nidaq functions. They will allow you to develop without the card. hope this helps.

  • How to program the daq card to route signals?

    Hi,
I would like to program the daq card to route signals, for example from DIO0 to
DIO1. All this should happen without Labview, directly on the board. Is this possible?
What I want to do, is to get a lot of signals as inputs and output those
signals as they are. Sometimes I need to take one signal through Labview
and make some modifications to it. If I route all the signals through Windows
and Labview will propably cause latency, so I would like to do this at the lowest
    level as possible.
Currently I'm using PCI-DAQ 6025E, but this card might not be sufficient for our
needs, so if this is possible with some other card, please share your information.
All information on this matter is highly appreciated.

Oops!. I just noticed that I accidentally posted this question to the wrong forum.
I posted a new one to "multifunction DAQ", so if you have something to say about
    this matter, then go here

  • How do I know the daq card is collecting data i.e. has been triggered trigger

I want to alert the user that the daq card is collecting data after he pushes the trigger switch.  I wish to update a message text box when it has been triggered.  Thanks,  PCI-6221 37 pin

You could use something like this, to ensure that at some specific point in your code a string indicator on the front panel is updated.  After placing the string indicator, right click on it go to Create>>Proprety Node>>Text>>Text.  The string indicator will update to the input of this property node when this sequence structure is reached.  Does that help?

  • How to run VI without the DAQ card connected to the labtop

This may be a silly question but I want to have the answer and couldn't find the answer for spending time in searching in the web.
I want to run the VI that controls the intruments in my labtop. The VI was run in a destop that has a DAQ card in the PC (a PCI card).  I know it is possible to run it without errors (without a DAQ card) in my labtop . Anyone knows how to do it? I used labview 7.1. Thanks,
    Jun

If you are using DAQmx and if the DAQ card is supported, you can add a simulated device in MAX.

  • What is the best card to implement a protolo CAN

    Hello
I am an insider in Labview.
I need implement a protocol by CAN.
The reading will be done through a board controlled by Labview.
The communications are basic, to test an electronic board
What is the best card to implement a protolo CAN?

    Hi,
There are a lot of CAN cards that you can use with your application. I advise you to have a look at www.ni.com/can .
What kind of cards do you want to use ? PCI cards ? PXI cards ?  What is the speed you want to reach ? How many ports do you want ?
As you can see there are a lot of parameters that depend on your application and what you want to do.
    Best regards,

I have been trying to read some threads, but I cannot find out any info on what would be the best card for my MSI K9a2 CF ver 1 motherboard. I would like to up grade but I don't want to buy a new system.
I was thinking about the an Nvidia 460GT 768mb
    MSI K9A2 CF motherboard
    AMD Phenom X4 940
    Corsair XMS 6400 4gb
    Corsair 750 watt power supply

My question is my Corsair has only one 12v rail at 60 amps. The MSI says it requires two. I don't think my powersupply would be able to handle this card?
That refers to 2 PCIe 6 pin power connectors not +12V rails on the PSU.

  • What is the $50 card givin by BB for pre orders

I'm a littlconfused on this and got 2 different answers
    Is it A or B
A, iPhone 5 pre order 16gb is $200. I paid 50 down and got a $50 BB card.  So my remaining balance is $150 to pick up the phone.  I can use that $50 Bb card when I pick up the new phone and have to pay $100 out of pocket correct since I'musing the $50 card.
    Or is it B
B, pre ordered payed $50 down got a $50Bb car.  My balance is still 150 to pick up the phone and give BB the $50 card back as like a holding for the pre order and I have to pay $150 out of pocket
Help me out here to understand this
    Thanks

B is closer, but neither is completely accurate. Here's how it works:
(Ignoring tax) the phone will be $200. You purchase a $50 gift card in order to do a pre-order. When you pick up the phone your total will be $200 for the phone, minus the $50 you pay with the gift card, for a balance due of $150.

  • What is the DAQ resolution

I output 1.00v analog value on one analog channel and acquire it immediately. But the value I got is 1.0045. I wonder how I can determine the error tolerance of the DAQ borad.
The DAQ borad I use is PXI 6030. Resolution is 16 bit.
    Thanks

The online Accuracy Calculator was setup to
address this type of question: http://www.ni.com/measurements/accuracy/
The accuracy you can expect will be improved by averaging your readings, using a range that most tightly fits your signal, and calibrating your board often.
You should have an external calibration performed on your device at least once a year. http://www.ni.com/calibration
    You can also
perform an internal self-calibration as often as you like. Here is a KnowledgeBase entry about self-calibration in LabVIEW.
The link to the Application Note talks about
    self-calibration using NI-DAQ functions.

  • DKA790GX Platinum - What's the best card that will work with hybrid crossfire?

Hi everyone. I know this board is a bit old now but I've set it up for my kids to play oldish games and it occurred to me that video cards from that era might be inexpensive these days. What's the best possible card to use with the on-board card for its hybrid crossfire? Would it be better to just get a separate standalone card? If so what's the best that will work with this board? I'm completely out of the loop these days on tech and have no idea what will even be compatible anymore.

Good news! I resolved my graphics issues without buying a new card. It all came down to a little logic. It used to work just fine. The game it's installed off the same disc as before, and there us no noticeable change in the install media. The hardware has not changed unless there has been some sort of electrical damage I cannot see. I had however updated my drivers many times over the last few years, and always from the AMD website.
I installed the latest MSI drivers for my onboard graphics and voila, it works!
All graphical glitches are now gone, though it runs a but slower.
I may still buy a new card. I'm favouring the HD4870x2 as the top of my motherboard's era or the slightly newer HD5770 which some reviews say is equivalent in performance. The latter uses the same GPU and shaders as the 6770 and is considerably cheaper.
If I go with NVidia it seems the best card in my price range is the 440GT.
Thanks, everyone, for all the advice!
i'd say the 790GX chipset would run a saphire radeon HD5770 card fine i have 1 of them on a different maufactures board that uses the AMD 690GX chipset and i have put both my HD5770's in that with crossfire on and had no issues at all just to try it out!
and the AMD 690GX is a lower more old chipset then the one your board has so i wouldnt see any issues with the board not accepting the HD 5770 cards at all!
i like the saphire branded ones better as they run much cooler and quieter then a stock card!

  • What is the Procurement Card's technology

    Hi,
I need a add a DFF in the procurement card's page.
But it doesn't look like either OAF or forms.
What is the technology behind procurement cards?
Is it possible to add DFF in those pages?
Its urgent please reply as soon as possible.
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Prasanna

I have done some research... This is calling following functions
function Name: Verify Open Card Transactions
    Web HTML tab: OracleON.IC
    Parameters: Y=Q1*200*AP_CARD_INQUIRIES*200*AP_EXP_FEED_DISTS_OPEN**]
    function type: SSWA pl/sql functions
Here in this function definition OracleON.IC is a pl/sql procedure.
Anybody have any idea, how this works?
how it displays a webpage? and
Is it possible to add a DFF to this page.
    Thanks,
    Prasanna
