What is the need of Message Type
Hello every one,
I am new to XI but i have involved in XI project. I am having a question like we need DATA TYPE as it contain the whole structure we need MESSAGE INTERFACE as it will say whether the communication is SYN ,ASYN , INBOUND , OUTBOUND or ABSTRACT. But Why we need this MESSAGE TYPE, what is the use of this. Please don't show me the links. I hope there is a specific purpose for MESSAGE TYPE. Help me out to figure out that purpose
THANKS IN ADVANCE

hi,
Interface editor: The Interface editor provides us to create
Data types
Message types
Message Interfaces
Data type: To define the structure or schema as how many fields and what fields are required by the application system. Basically a .XSD file can also be imported in Integration Repository using External Definitions available in Integration Repository. Data types are the abstract in nature that are not fixed to an element.
Message types: A message type is an envelope which encapsulates data type. Message type corresponds to the root of the XML message.
Message interfaces: The basic purpose of message interface is used to define the direction of data flow i.e. whether inbound or outbound.
It also defines the mode of transport whether Synchronous or Asynchronous mode.

What is the difference between message type and element
hi,
When we create a new variable in BPEL we get the option to create 'simple', 'message type', 'element'
I would like to know what is the difference between message type and element.
thanks
YatanA message is part of the service and is usually assigned to one of the operations in the wsdl. For example getPhoneNumer() operation may have an input message of personInput and output of phoneNum. These messages would have a type...maybe of string or decimal or a complex type with multiple values.
An element is typically a complex type that could be defined in an xsd file.
When you create a variable in the bpel, you can declare it as a message or a simple type or an element. As I understand it, the simple types are pre-defined in the schema namespace such as string, decimal, date, etc.
The elements are defined in the xsd files or wsdls and can be a combination of strings, dates, etc or other stuff as well.
The messages are defined in the wsdl as part of the input/output but they are typically assigned a type just like other variables you create. -
What is the need for movement type 107

What's the purpose of message type ADRMAS
Hello,
I want to distribute customer master data using message type DEBMAS. I read something about message type ADRMAS. Why should I also use type ADRMAS because DEBMAS already contains address data?
Regards, JanHi,
you may look to notes [384462|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/384462] and [306275|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/306275].
In short.
Business Address Services (BAS) has defined a central point for handling and storing adress data.
Starting with ERP release 4.5B, customer/vendor master data has integrated the BAS functionality in order to provide a consolidated handling of address data instead of a specific handling.
As a result, KNA1, KNVK still contain address data for historical and compatibility reasons BUT the real accurate address handling is within BAS tables.
The second consequence is that the address is now distributed with its own idoc types : ADRMAS, ADR2MAS, ADR3MAS.
So for accuracy reasons, you should distribute ADRMAS AND DEBMAS.
Hope this helps

What is the need of creating partner functions for sales document type.
Hi SAP (SD-GURUS),
Actually we create partner functions before creating customer ex: sold to party, ship to party, bill to party, and payer.
These partner functions are going to be copied into sales order while processing sales order.
Again what is the need of creating partner functions for sales document type.
Thanks&Regards
sreenivas peruruThere are some Partners you could enter at Sales ORder Level. E.g. Sales Person, Employee Responsible, Forwarding Agent, Broker, etc.
Thus these partner Determination need to be carried out at Sales Order Level & not at Customer Master level.
So we have to configure partner Determination for various levels e.g. Customer Master, Sales Order, Delivery level etc...
Hope this helps...
THanks,

What is the need of creating New order type in PO
Dear Experts,
I have a doubt in MM, what is the need of creating New Order Types? Please explain with Business scenario. Thanking you,
Regards,
Elangovan.AHi Elangovan
Whenever you have a doubt like this...
--- just verify the config settings for your parameter (order type here).
---Also check whether authorizations can be given for this ?
---Do you need it for specific analysis ? Are there standard reports/listings available ?
So, some of the uses of order type are:
1) What are the parameters controlled by order type ?
It controls the number ranges and screen layouts etc. So, if you want to have different set of number ranges and different screen settings, then you may need a new order type.
2) Authorizations can be controlled with order type.
3) You can also use it in analysis/listings

What is the need of ALE/ IDOC
Hi All,
What is the need of ALE/ IDoc and why we go for ALE?IDOC with conditions
Let me know the answers if anyone have the solution
Regards'
RameshALE (Application Linking and Enabling)
Ale Technology is SAPs technology to support distributed yet integrated processes across several SAP systems.
IDocs (Intermediate Documents) are the crux of ALE. These are the documents with the help of which data is exchanged between SAP R/3 and non-R/3 systems. As the name suggests, these documents act as intermediate storage of information, which can be sent bi-directionally. Message types are responsible for creation of Idocs.
IDocs
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
Outbound Process
Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

Need of message type in ALE-IDOC
Hi,
Please tell me need of message type in ALE_IDOC and its functioning. Also why it is required.Let me know its exact role.
Thanks.Hi,
Message types (required for sending the data across participating systems)relate to the structure of the data called an IDOC (Intermediate Document).Message types provide the format of the data, which can be exchanged betweenSAP and non-SAP systems. ALE supports over 200 message types in R/3.

What is the difference between Condition Type PB00 and PBXX
Hallow all,
Can anybody please explain, What is the Difference between Condition type PB00 and PBXX in Materials Management Pricing?
And also please explain control or Application of both on Price determination ??
Thanks in Advance !!!!!Hi,
PB00 condition type is used for automatic pricing in PO
PBXX condition type is used for manual pricing in PO
In Pricing access sequence play a vital role . If you need pricing automatic in the PO, you have use of Access Sequences and Schema Group of Vendor. You can see the difference in both standard condition type PB00 and PBXX, where as PB00 is assigned to Access sequence(0002)but in case of PBXX no access sequense assigned.

There
> are a couple of sites out there that use both flash and
shockwave.
Of the examples you showed, I saw Flash (Adobe Flash),
Shockwave (Adobe
Director), and JavaScript, but never a combination on the
same site. (It
might make sense to combine Flash with JavaScript or
Shockwave with
JavaScript, but not really to combine Flash with Shockwave.)
> I am looking ot get somethign like this started and need

> getting pointed in the right direction.
Any of the above technologies will do it. You could also use
a Java
applet or even a .NET solution of some kind, so the choice
you take will
depend largely on what platform you want to support and code
for. This sort
of project will require significant amounts of custom
programming. My
personal approach would be to use Flash, mainly because of
the popularity of
the plugin. The Shockwave example looks beautiful, and I
started out years
ago using Director, but fewer people nowadays have the
Shockwave plugin
installed. It doesn't look like any of the sites shown use 3D
modeling,
which is the only relevant feature that Shockwave has over
the other
approaches. JavaScript (probably some Ajax approach) would
work -- as
seen -- but then you're dealing with compatibility issues
among various
JavaScript implementations in the great variety of browsers
out there.
Flash minimizes that, in my opinion.
All you really "need" to produce what you've seen is Flash
and some sort
of database back end (MySQL, say), which means you'll need a
bit of
middleware (PHP, ASP, Cold Fusion, etc.) to act as your
ambassador between
Flash and the database.

In the RFC, I have created a Non-class based exceptino anf raising it using the "Raise" command.

Is their a special way to raise the excpetion in rfc so as to populate the Exceptoin message type in PI completely?
