What is the offline method of downloading and installing Firefox?

I'd like to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. The catch is, I only have a dialup connection, so online installation is not an option. It would take hours -- or even days. (And I'm charged by the minute.) Is there an offline way to install Firefox where I don't need to remain connected to the Internet? There used to be a manual download option for Firefox. That's how I obtained the version I have now. I used a public access place to download the executable file, took it home on my thumb drive, and then installed Firefox using this file. I looked around the site but couldn't find this manual download option anymore. Or am I missing something here? I'm sure there still are people like me out there. Any help would be appreciated. I'd really like to try the latest version. Thanks in advance.

It does not download additional components, it contains all of the Firefox files.
The Mac file is much larger because it contains the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Firefox.

On opening Firefox 3.6.13 firefox screen suggests downloading latest version. Have downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6.15 (sorry typing error in previous entry). On opening Firefox, screen still shows 3.6.13 as the operating version although "Get info" shows that updating has been done. Thinking I may have made a mistake I have done this twice with the same result. The screen is still telling me to update.

Have you looked through your "data" to see what '''''can''''' be moved over to the D:/ drive? Also you should consider moving the Windows TEMP files over to the D:/ drive.
Also, with WinXP it is a good idea having at least 15% of each logical drive "free" so that the Defrag service can be run; TEMP files cause the most fragmentation on the drive.

Also to be sure you need at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 if not 3 (XP3) as Firefox since version 13.0 will not work on XP1 or older.

This might be happening automatically, but when I shut down and re-start, I get the same message about installing the same update. Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop and close Firefox.

Firefox kept trying to update v. 3.5.?.?, usually failing. So, I went to the website, then downloaded and installed v. 4. But, when I restart my computer, it reverts back to the old version, loses bookmarks added while using v. 4, and again tries to update v. 3.5. When I look in the folder which contains Firefox, "properties" says I have v. 4, even though what is appearing is not.

The iOS version 4.2 downloaded and installed successfully on my phone...only to state at the end that "Your SIM does not seem to be supported. Please insert a supported SIM....". When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts (already mentioned). When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).

What is the current size of download package for Firefox? I have a dial-up connection and clicking the "latest version" link look s like it gets an exe that only manages the installation, so there's got to be more.

The download starts with Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe, but I always have trouble with "setup" programs that appear to be manageable size (this one estimates 45 minutes to download), but once run, starts a ten-hour download.
