What is the oldest PS file type that can be opened in CS5?

I have a lot of work that was created in PS 7.0. I want to get the latest version. What is the oldest file type that can be opened in CS5?

You will have no problem with files created with PS7.
I have files from PS3 that still open!

  • What is the maximum excel file size that can be converted to pdf?

Currently I am trying to convert a excel file of 37 mb by using pdf generator. And it fails with the exception as java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space; nested exception is: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.
    Waiting someone help! T_T

Open in PS and print to the Adobe PDF printer. However, a 448MB TIFF seems huge. At 200 dpi and 24 bit color (millions of colors) that leaves you with a 61inX61in graphic. Even at 600dpi, that is 20X20.
For us to help you, please indicate exactly how you are trying to convert from PhotoShop. For Acrobat, are you trying to open the TIFF in Acrobat directly? Is the TIFF a single sheet, or multiple sheet? There are a lot of unanswered questions for us.
One of the limitations on file size is the size of the temporary PS file that is created in the PDF creation process. This PS file is created in the TEMP folder that is limited by MS. So you might try emptying the TEMP folder.

  • What are the differences in file types?

what are the differences in file types?    HOW DO i CONVERT TXT TO A FILE TYPE THAT PLAYS MUSIC/VIDEO?

Every file on a computer is ultimately just a big collection of zeros and ones. Files with the .txt extension typically contain just text. If opened with a suitable program such as Notepad the text will be readable. Try to push the same file into a different application and you may get nonsense or crash the software. Well written software will attempt to validate the internal structure of the file it is given and reject anything it doesn't know how to handle. There are multiple audio file formats. Transcoding an audio file from one audio format to another is possible. Changing a text file into audio isn't possible unless it wasn't really a text file in the first place.

  • What is the list of file prefixes that make a file appear first in the finder?

    Hi!
    I was just curious :
What is the list of file prefixes that make a file appear first in the finder?
For example, files and folders whose names start with "A" will appear before files whose names start with "B",
but what about a list of characters for files and folders before the letter "A"?
I'm doing some file organisation, and I need certain things to appear at the top of the list.
I have noticed that the character-prefixes "0" and "(" seem to make things appear before "A"
I would like a complete list if there is one available.
    Thank you!

Pretty much any number or a space character. Punctuation does too, in theory, but I'd advise to limit it to hyphens and underscores. Periods are OK in the middle of file names but you won't be able to start a file name with one at the Finder level since that would actually hide the file.

  • What is the oldest generation of iPad that will still allow me to run IOS8 and allow for future IOS updates?

Buying a used iPad... what is the oldest generation of iPad that will still allow me to run IOS8 and allow for future IOS updates?
    Thanks

An iPad 2 will do it...for awhile. Realize that it's seemingly on it's last legs as far as iOS updates go and performance will not be great enough for today's demanding games. Also realize that a big part of running apps smoothly is how much system RAM (the memory area that the apps actually run in) the device has. The iPad 2 has 512 MB which is adequate for most apps but not for some. The iPads above the iPad 2 all have 1 GB of system RAM and the iPad Air 2 has 2 GB.
The time will come when the iPad 2 can no longer be updated past a certain iOS version (as the iPad 1 is) so it will be more difficult to keep up with apps that you want to be using. This will eventually happen to ALL devices so you'll have to judge if you want to be at the tail-end of iOS updates or at least have a bigger buffer with a newer iPad.

we are a creative design studio, we need to use apple mac pro server , so we can make more than a different user to use at the same time doing different activities, on different screens, is it possible?what is the max. no. of users that can work efficient.
Appreciate your support and if possible , how to do this?

If you want to work with Mac OS X, you need one computer per simultaneous user.
What you are describing, " Multiple simultaneous logins to a single computer" is not avialable on a regular Mac of any description, unless you decide to use Unix tools instead of Mac OS X.
Server will happily store files for many, many users and provide them to multiple (up to hundreds) of computers at "near hard Drive" speeds over Gigabit Ethernet. It can make the File Sharing part easy.

  • What is the maximum number of columns that can be displayed by sqlplus?

    Hello,
    Questions:
Is there a limit on what sqlplus can display?
What is the maximum number of columns that can be displayed by sqlplus?
I cannot find anything on this in my search. I checked the limits page:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14357/apa.htm#sthref3658
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16604/apa.htm#i635278
It does not specify any column limits; however, I'm thinking it is tied to LINESIZE which is system dependent.
    Please confirm if true.
    Thanks!

Received answer directly from SQL*Plus Development:
"sqlplus does not have a limit on the number of columns it displays."
They created a table with more than 256 columns with data and had no problem retrieving the data.

A comma-delimited list of expressions can contain no more than 1000 expressions. A comma-delimited list of sets of expressions can contain any number of sets, but each set can contain no more than 1000 expressions.
The following are some valid expression lists in conditions:
    (10, 20, 40)
    ('SCOTT', 'BLAKE', 'TAYLOR')
    ( ('Guy', 'Himuro', 'GHIMURO'),('Karen', 'Colmenares', 'KCOLMENA') )

  • What is the maximum number of addresses that can be sent in a group mailing

Can anyone tell me the maximum number of addresses that can be sent as a group mailing?
    Thanks.

"Does Mail complain when you try to send a message to several recipients at once? You might be surprised to know that Mail actually has no limit on the number of recipients to whom you can send a message! So, what's going on here?
Chances are it's your Internet Service Provider (ISP) that's preventing your message from being sent. Your ISP might do this, for example, to deter folks who send unsolicited bulk commercial email (such as "spam" or "Junk mail") to a large number of addresses.
If this happens to you, contact your ISP and ask them if they enforce a limit on how many recipients each email message can have. If there is a limit, you can either send your message to fewer people, or divide your recipient list into multiple sets and send the same message in batches (each time to a different set of recipients). "
    Brilliant! Thanks.

  • What is the max number of contacts that can be added to an email?

I'm sometimes sent emails with 1-200 contacts added in. If I try to 'respond to all' iMail just won't send the email back.
What is the maximum number of contacts that iMail can cope with? Is there a workaround for a larger number?
    Many thanks
    Steve

I'm not sure the point of it as I use a BT push pop3 account?
The point is that these kinds of restrictions are set by your email provider, i.e., Comcast, GMail, etc., not by the Mail application client.
If BT means British Telecom, ask them.

  • What is the best audio file type to use when ripping CD's?

Very new to this. When I rip my CD's to my computer, what file type should I use? Pros and Cons of each if you could too please? Thanks!

The best bitrate and encoder is the one that suits you best.

Apple Lossless will give excellent sound quality, but at a file size that is much larger than mp3 or aac, so the trade off here is not as many songs will fit on your iPod.

You should probably start by encoding a piece of music you are familiar with, in either mp3 or aac at something like 192kbps, listen to it, then try again at different bit rates, both lower and higher, to see if you can hear a difference in sound quality.

If you can’t hear the difference in sound quality between various bitrates, then the lower one will suffice, and you can store more songs on your iPod. Try this in both encoding formats. You could encode the same song several times in iTunes under a slightly different name (just edit the song in iTunes and add the bitrate after the song title), transfer these songs to your iPod and do some comparative listening. Then you can make an informed decision about which format/bitrate is best for you.

Yes it’s time consuming, but much better to rip your cds at decent sound quality now, rather than decide much later that you are not satisfied, and have to rip them again.

And incidentally, a song of the same length, encoded at the same bitrate, gives an almost identical file size whether it be encoded in aac or mp3.

Where the space saving issue comes in is because many people say that if you encode a song at 128kbps in aac format, then the sound quality is as good as the same song encoded at 160 or 192kbps in mp3 format, therefor using the aac version gives a smaller file size and allows you to store more songs on your iPod.

It's very subjective and you shouldn't let anyone tell you what to use.

Let your ears be your guide.

  • What's the oldest version of Tomcat that supports JSTL?

I'm stuck with Tomcat 3.3 for this project I'm working on. Is there any version of JSTL that can be made to work with this dinosaur?

Did you try what is suggested in the readme file?
    COMPATIBILITY
The 1.0 version of the Standard Taglib has been tested under Tomcat 4.0.4
and should work in any compliant JSP 1.2 container.  To use this
distribution on earlier versions of Tomcat (such as 4.0.3), however, you
may need to work around a container bug that prevents JAXP 1.2 classes
    from loading successfully.
To do this, you should to replace the JAXP 1.2 JAR files included with
this distribution (in the 'lib' directory) with older XML-related JAR
files. To obtain these older, unsupported libraries, you can download the
    file named
         jakarta-taglibs-standard-oldxml-compat.tar.gz
    or
         jakarta-taglibs-standard-oldxml-compat.zip
from the same directory from which you downloaded this distribution
    (http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-taglibs/releases/standard/).
Once you have obtained these files, install them (crimson.jar and
xalan.jar) into your WEB-INF/lib directory in place of the following files
    from this distribution:  jaxp-api.jar, dom.jar, sax.jar, xercesImpl.jar,
    and the newer xalan.jar.
Note that upgrading to Tomcat 4.0.4 is recommended and that we provide
these older libraries as a temporary convenience for those who have not
    yet upgraded.Good luck,
    evnafets
