What is the Other yellow stuff - and how do I get rid of it?

I have .18 audio, .02 photos, .01 apps and .21 OTHER? I dont know what that is or how to get rid of it. I saw where some responses said to go to the back or restore factory settings. My question is on what and how? I am very computer illiterate and getting frustrated! Now it is not much, but I don't want it to cause a problem down the road. Also, if my itouch is a 8G, why does it show only 6.5 GB as the capacity? Thanks for any help!!

To reduce "other" sometimes a restore from backup works but many times a restore to factory defaults is required. I would not be concerned until ti gets to 1 GB though.
The difference between the 8 GB iPod total capacity/storage capacity and 6.5 is due to the iOS taking up some of that difference by a lot of it is du to the difference of how BG is calculated. See:

The Other section on your iPod consists of a number of different things, including album artwork, your iPod's software, files you may be storing externally on it, games, and a few other things. However, it can usually include corrupt files from failed sync operations with iTunes. Usually the Other section should only be a small fraction of what's stored on your iPod, usually less than 1 GB.
So it sounds like your iPod may be corrupt, in which case you'll need to connect it to iTunes and restore it to factory settings.

The documentation states the following about this warning number: Current and previous waveforms are not contiguous. Can someone tell me what this means, if it is significant and how I can eliminate the warning?

Are you trying to filter just one waveform or are you combining multiple waveforms together before passing it through the filter? A discontinuous waveform would be one with missing time information...like a skip in the data that could result from adding two together. OR...Possibly it is two waveforms with different delta T's that have been added together and "coerced".

Got this message last night while in rural Georgia and don't know what it means or how to get rid of it.

I had this happen to me once and it just happened again. I have an HTC Incredible II and I live in New York City (don't know if that has anything to do with it). Here is how I fixed it:
Power off phone
Open phone, remove battery and remove SIM card
Replace battery and power on phone.
When the phone comes back on it said something like, No SIM card, this phone will now switch to CDMA mode.
Power off phone
Open phone and replace SIM card.
Power on phone - should be fixed. When I power on it says SIM card detected, this phone will now switch to Global mode. The Vodafone NL is gone and everything seems to be working as usual.
Short version:
1. Power down
2. Remove SIM card
3. Power up
4. Power down
5. Replace SIM card
6. Power up

Well i have over 1,000 songs on iTunes and I have an iPod Nano I would like to restore it with all those songs, only 30 of the songs restored. I think you're confusing restore with sync?
! means that your library can not find the original music file at its last stored location. It is possible this was removed, or deleted. Is the ! happening on your iTunes library on your desktop? If so, did you move anything wrong? Can you manually try to find that song located on your desktop?

In my case, this must be me. My iPhone has a bug - it's not any of the other things that are considered "other". It's just an issue. I've researched for over an hour, reduced every settings imagineable (Other doesn't go down - in fact, it goes up, almost like, because I freed up space, it wants to fill in the remaining space).
