What is the port for localhost???

I am trying to attach a debugger to Netbeans. I have entered localhost for the host name, and 92 as the port. But when I try to step into me app, the localhost connection is refused. I am using:
http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Netbeans/FaqDebuggingRemote
as a reference doc to attach the debugger.
thanks

I am trying to attach a debugger to Netbeans. I have

localhost connection is refused. There is no one "localhost" port, there are lots of them.
The key thing is having a listener running on that port on your local machine.
If you open a command shell and type "netstat -a -b", you'll get to see all the active ports on your machine and the executable that's listening.
Netbeans is an IDE that may or may not have an app server that's hosting your app running inside it. What app server are you running? If it's Tomcat, the usual default port is 8080 for the app. It might be 8888 for debugging. It'll be something else for another app.
See if netstat can help you.

  • What is the port for on the left of the w500 between the eathernet and video monitor connection?

There is a port on the left side of the w500 that is next to the video monitor connector. It looks like an HDMI port but is square on one side. So I do not think it is hdmi. What is that port called and what is it for?
I want to hook up the computer to a tv for the kids to watch netflix.

    Hello mate,
It's a DisplayPort (that's its name) It's like an HDMI port but it's different
All you need to plug your tv is a cable DisplayPort to HDMI and it's all good. You normally won't have sound because the port is for video only. You will need to plug a cable from your audio out to your tv.

    Hi All,
What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following clients are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?
    Client Type
Port range  and Protocol required for Audio
Port range and Protocol required for
    Video
Port range and Protocol required for
    A/Vconferencing
    Windows Desktop   Client
    Windows mobile App
    Iphone
    Ipad
    Andriod phone
    Andriod Tablet
    MAC desktop client
    Please advise. Many Thanks.

Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports.  :)
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx
You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings.  I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.
Elan's got the best writeup for Windows clients here:
    http://www.shudnow.net/2013/02/16/enabling-qos-for-lync-server-2013-and-various-clients-part-1/
However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part.  Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings.  You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

  • What prevents being able to change a the port for a website?

On the Web service in Server Admin I noticed that if I change the PORT for certain virtual domains from 80 to ANYTHING (like 8080, or 443) when I save, the Server Admin reports the error:
"A service has encounted an error."
And it does not accept the change. But only on 3 of my 5 domains!
What's odd is I have 5 completely different domains listed under Sites (all are root domains, no host names; eg, x1.com ... x5.com), and I can change the website's port for the 1st and the 4th domains in the list only.
    The websites all work.
Anyone guess why some websites I can change the port, and others I cannot?
(Note: I started off with all websites saying the IP was x.y.x.z. I also tried to change that, and the same two websites that i can change the port will let me change the Ip to "any", and the ones that I can't change the port won't let me change the IP to 'any' either.
One off thing -- maybe related -- is that when I successfully change, say, the port on domain #1 or domain #4, after I click "save" it refreshes the screen, Server Admin has skipped to show the info on last domain.
My servers are all hosted out of their own subdirectories of the /library/websever/documents directory.
Another idea is, is there a manual way I can change JUST the port setting to see if th service can operate that way?

    PS The server is 10.3.9

  • What are the announcements for renting VPS?

What are the announcements for renting VPS? For details, understand VPS and make the choice of rental; for Taiwan VPS and Hong Kong VPS, without records, unlimited contents, wider range, and more efficient experience. Your server will show its excellence with the advantages.
Most station agents become less inclined to virtual hosting, for national space, domain name records are needed, which waste the time; for overseas hosting such as Korea hosting, US hosting, no records, but slower speed than national space; therefore, more and more station agents prefer servers, but because the price of servers are too high, they turn their focus on VPS.
    The following are the announcements:
    1.Open remote desktop lander:
    Start-run-mstsc or start-procedure-nearby-remote desktop connect
    2.Several conditions for account halt:
First, client side login cause account halt
Second, certain account quits the remote control in midway when it runs routine
Third, certain routine is restricted by synchronous operation of system administrator.
    3. Not install the third party firewall
If you need firewall, please use windows firewall, the third party firewall in VPS will cause system collapse and data loss, the system automatically obtains the newest windows patches and install itself, which do not require human operation. Installing system patches in VPS sometimes will heavily lead to VPS collapse and data loss.
Do not modify remote desktop port.
Because of the specialty of VPS system, default remote desktop port is 3389, do not modify randomly, or the remote connection will be out of work.
    4. Except some special conditions that user registration is needed for certain procedure, when the remote connection has been close down, do not forget logout user to save memory resource, and prevent the loading connection next time, if it happens, reboot VPS.
    5. VPS has been set with relative security when it was paid, with high security. It suggests that do not open firewall randomly, if you open it by your own, the following ports should be opened: 21(FTP), 3389(remote connection), 80(website http), 3306(MySQL), 1433(SQL Server). Timely check whether there is suspicious account or system log, download 360 safety guard to avoid these files and process.
    6. Try not to modify registry hand-actuated, ensure the reboot of VPS. Modify remote ports please add the modified port in firewall first, and then reboot.
7.Modify IIS installation files, backup these files, and then modify them with the software that can keep the file layout, prevent these files from destroying IIS.
8.Website service of VPS and FTP service of IIS are default to open hand-actuated, set Web Publishing Service as automatically if you are station agent. If you often use FTP service of IIS, please set FTP Publishing Service as automatically, i.e. reboot it automatically. If you use serv-u, tick all the system service terms. In the terms of security and resource consumption , it suggests that those users who seldom use FTP do not set it as automatically.

    Hi there
"So for ALL the apps, the annual monthly fee is £46.88, but you can rent occasionally for £70.32 pm.... ?" Correct
£17.58 single app plan requires an annual commit - it's £27.34 for the month-to-month plan without annual commit.

  • What is the fix for some applications repeatedly asking permission to accept incoming connections?

What is the fix for some applications repeatedly asking permission to accept incoming connections?
On every restart, AutoPairs and Epson Event Manager asks me to reject or agree to allow incoming connections. It is very aggravating and time-wasting. I know other Mac users who have the identical problem with other applications on their Macs.
Isn't there some way to make my Mac understand that "Yes" means "Yes" once and for all?
I am presently running Yosemite, but this was a problem with prior OS X versions too.
    Respectfully,
    Nate

This is a comment on why you might, or might not, want to use the built-in Application Firewall.
The firewall blocks incoming network traffic, regardless of origin, on a per-application basis. By default it's off, and when turned on, it allows applications digitally signed by Apple, and only those applications, to listen on the network. It does not block outgoing traffic, nor can it distinguish between different sources of incoming traffic, nor does it filter traffic by content.
No matter how it's configured, the firewall is not, as some imagine, a malware filter. If that's what you expect it to do, forget it. All it will do is bombard you with pointless alerts.
Consider some scenarios in which you may expect the firewall to be useful.
    1. You enable file sharing, and you allow guest access to certain folders. That means you want people on your local network, but not outsiders, to be able to access those shared folders without having to enter a password. In the default configuration, the firewall will allow that to happen. The router prevents outsiders from accessing the shares, whether the application firewall is on or off. But if your computer is portable and you connect it to an untrusted network such as a public hotspot, the firewall will still allow access to anyone, which is not what you want. It does not protect you in this scenario.
    2. You unknowingly install a trojan that steals your data and uploads it to a remote server. The firewall, no matter how it's configured, will not block that outgoing traffic. It does nothing to protect you from that threat.
    3. A more likely scenario: The web browser or the router is compromised by an attacker. The attack redirects all web traffic to a bogus server. The firewall does not protect you from this threat.
    4. You're running a public web server. Your router forwards TCP connection requests on port 80 to your Mac, and the connections are accepted by the built-in web server, which is codesigned by Apple. The application firewall, still configured as above, allows this to happen. An attacker hacks into the system and tries to hijack port 80 and replace the built-in web server with one that he controls. The good news here is that the firewall does protect you; it blocks incoming connections to the malicious server and alerts you. But the bad news is that you've been rooted. The attacker who can do all this can just as easily turn off the firewall, in which case it doesn't protect you after all.
    5. You're running a Minecraft server on the local network. It listens on a high-numbered port. You, as administrator, have reconfigured the firewall to pass this traffic. An attacker is able to log in to a standard account on the server. He figures out how to crash Minecraft, or he just waits for you to quit it, and then he binds his own, malicious, Minecraft server to the same port. The firewall blocks his server, and because he's not an administrator, he can't do anything about it. In this scenario, the security is genuine.
    6. Here is a more realistic scenario in which you might have reason to enable the firewall. Your MacBook has sharing services enabled. You want those services to be available to others on a home or office network. When you're on those networks, the firewall should be off. When you move to an untrusted network, you can either turn off all the services, or enable the firewall with a non-default configuration to block them. Blocking is easier: one click instead of several.

  • CSA : what are the port used

    Hi,
I'm trying a lab about CSA.
In the LAN, there is policy with the firewall.
So I want to know what are the port used bye the CSA MC and agent. (From MC to Agent and from Agent to MC.
Is there any link to more document ?
    Best regards

It's in the readme file on the downloads page.
    3. Port Usage Information
This section explains which ports are used for communication by the product.
Web Browser to CSA MC communication uses port 443 (https).
Cisco Security Agent to Management Center communication occurs over port 5401
Port 443 is used by default if port 5401 is not available.
Port 80 is also required for agent kit caching.
Analysis Jobs to CSA MC communication occurs over port 5401.
