What is the range for Find my iPhone

What is the range for Find my iPhone

Both devices have to be connected to either WiFi or Cellular and have location services enabled. Find My iPhone does not require that you be close to the phone you're trying to find. If it's connected to a network thousands of miles away, it should still work.

• What are the ranges for correct skin tones using RGB%?

What are the ranges for correct skin tones using RGB%? Used to using a scale from 0 to 255. But with LR it's RGB , I know 100% RGB is white. What do you use for %?

While I whole heartedly agree that we should not be constrained to hard and fast numbers for accurate skin tones ... LR does offer an RGB color readout ... I am assuming they made those percentages available for the user to monitor the breakdown of specific color values for a reason ... so we could have an indication of how a specific color in an image will be reproduced ...
I liken this to using a speedometer ... while many experienced drivers in well tuned vehicles can travel on the highway at the prescribed legal speed limit without really monitoring the readout on the dashboard ... however, there are times when they would like to verify the speed at which they are traveling ... the RGB color percentage readout in LR is no different ... just a source of information to verify you are achieving what you desire ...
Again, going by specific numbers in this instance, I believe, could lead to problems ... there may be times when you may desire or actually need to adjust skin tones ... even though a pleasing WB has been achieved ... the relationship of R, G and B can be used to get you there.
From what I have researched and put into practice with LR the following seems to be a good starting point and the data was borrowed from "the pixelation" blog:
R: highest %
G: middle %
B: lowest %
To get a little more specific. In general,
R: Y + (15-20)
G: average of R and B
B: R – (15-20)
For example, the following values represent common Caucasian skin tones using the rules above:
* R: 80%; G: 70%; B: 60%. R is 20 points higher than B, and G is midway between R and B. That’s perfect.
* R: 86%, G: 78%; B: 70% also reflects a nicely balanced skin tone. Again, G is midway between R and B, and R is 16 points higher than B. This, too, illustrates a great relationship among the colors.

• What is the exception for finding more than one row?

What is the exception if you do a select and get more than one row? no_data_found is the exception for not finding any, what is the exception for finding "too much". Thx

Funnily enough there is a complete list of predefined exceptions in the documentation .

• What is the warranty for a refurbished iPhone sold by AT&T?

Considering purchasing a refurbished iPhone from AT&T. Curiously, I noticed refurbished iPhones are not sold online at the Apple Store...
I'd like to know the official answer for this question, from an Apple representative, or at least referencing a legal document on the Apple site:
"What is the warranty for a refurbished iPhone?"
Also, "Can AppleCare be purchased for a refurbished iPhone?"
Again, I would like Apple's answers to these questions, not AT&T's.
Thanks.

But if the phone is refurbished by Apple, shouldn't it have the same warranty as new, as do refurbished iPods, iPads, and Macbooks?

It is not that simple.. are the walls hollow or solid concrete..?? it is not the thickness of the walls.. but the thickness of material and angle of penetration.. remember wierless is a dead straight line.. Tx to Rx.. so a 30deg angle through concrete is a lot more material than just 6" steel reinforcing is really bad.. at an angle it maybe hard for the wireless to see a gap.
Through standard plasterboard.. rockboard in US I think. walls, with no insulation.. about 15% signal drop on each.. the TC should work ok in standard size house over single floor at least at 2.4ghz .. but the speed will drop as you get further away. Difficult to say more.. that is why apple make the extreme and express and TC can all extend wireless from each other. But all this is only 2.4ghz.
5ghz you will be lucky to get signal through two walls.
2. Can I backup my data to my Time Capsule anywhere in the world using the Internet?
You can access the TC by using BTMM via iCloud in certain circumstances.. we would not recommend backups over internet.. the possiblity of corrupting the whole backup is too high. Just use a 2.5" portable drive.. ML can backup TM to different targets..
3. Can I use the Time Capsule to backup data on my iphone, ipad and ipod?
Not directly.. they do not work with TC.. they work with iTunes.. and you automatically backup to itunes locally or cloud.. then Time Machine backs up the iTunes.
You can access the file and store files on the TC if you use a file browser app. But this is not the intended method of operation of any of those devices.

• What is the range for an Airport Express?

What is the range (physical distance) for an Airport Express?
What is the range (physical distance) for an Airport Extreme?

The range of the AirPort Express is about 150 feet or 50 meters. But, this measurement is taken in free air, with no obstructions like walls or ceilings in the signal path, and no other networks in operation that might interfere with the wireless signal.
In the real world, in a real home, once the signal passes through 3-4 walls, it is about gone. A ceiling will absorb more of the signal than a wall, because it is thicker. So, as much as possible, you want wireless devices to have line-of-sight with the wireless router for best performance.
Bottom line....it is not possible to predict wireless performance in advance of any installation since there are so many variables involved.

• What Is The Range For TC?

What is the maximum useable range for a wireless connection between a MBP and TC? I would want to use mine up to 15 meters (50 ft) and through 2 light wood/plasterboard walls.

15 meters should be fine. My old Airport Express worked well in that range, and the AEBS has a much better range.

• What is the criteria for buying an iphone?

I heard that to buy an iphone you need a contract? Is that true? and what is the meaning of having a contract when buying an iphone? and can one buy an iPhone without a contract?

No you don't need a contract.
A contract is with a mobile network provider to give you monthly calls, text and data.
Yes, you can buy an iPhone without a contract, but without some service (contract or pre-pay) from a mobile network provider, you'll only be able to use it on WiFi, and not make calls, send SMS, or use 3G/4G data away from WiFi.

• What is the range for the newest AirPort / Time Capsule?

I am considering a house remodel which would put my computer in a room away from my router. How far apart can they be and still work effectively?

If you are asking about wireless performance, it is always best to have line-of-sight between the wireless router and computer as much as possible.
Even a thin wall of wallboard and two by fours can absorb up to 30% of the signal, so after a few walls, you may have a seriously degraded signal with slower Internet and much greater chance of intermittent connections.
Range measurements (if you can find them) are typically made in a large open space....like an aircraft hangar with no obstructions in the signal path between the router and computer. It is nice to know that an AirPort might work OK up to about 50 meters or a little over 150 feet, but chances are, the layout of your home is a bit different.
To get a very rough idea of what your performance might be, move the computer to a location that will simulate the number of walls that the signal must pass through in your home and check things out.
If you decide to go ahead with the remodel, you would be very wise to budget for relocation of the wireless router during the process, or plan to run an Ethernet cable from the modem to the new router location.

• What is the warranty for a refurbished iPhone 5 sold by Apple Store in Germany ?

So, I bought iPhone in Germany September 21st 2012 and they have replaced it under the warranty. I got refurbished device today. Is the warranty the same?

Unless things are different in Germany due to consumer protection laws, your replacement iPhone will be carry a warranty of 90 days or the remainder of the original warranty period from your former iPhone, whichever is longer.
Regards.

• How can I use a different Apple ID for Find My iPhone than for iCloud syncing/storage and iTunes purchases?

I use two different Apple ID's for two iPhone 4's and for iTunes on my PC. I use one for purchases and the other for Find My iPhone on both phones. How can I set up iCloud for both phones using each ID for it's user for storage and backup but keep one ID for purchases and one for Find My iPhone on both phones?

To better describe what I am needing:
1. - iPhone 1
2. - iPhone 2
A. - Apple ID #1
B. - Apple ID #2
On 1. I need A for purchases and iCloud and B for Find My iPhone.
On 2. I need A for purchases and B for iCloud and Find My iPhone.
In addition, will iCloud store text messages?

• DO Corp. owned iPhones brick when wiped (employee registered for "Find My iPhone" with their iTunes account)

We issue Corp. owned iPhones to employees. If the employee registers the phone for "Find My iPhone" using their personal iTunes account, if the employee leaves or is terminated and we have to wipe the phone, does the phone brick?

They do not brick, but it would be necessary to either turn off Find My iPhone prior to restoring the device or knowing the Apple ID/password that the Find My iPhone was setup with to turn it off afterwards.
Without this information, the device would be useless.

• What are the settings for apn data and mms for iphone 4 on straight talk?

what are the settings for cellular data network APN DATA and MMS for Straighttalk sims on IPhone 4?I cant send or recieve pictures. My service keeps losin signal constantly saying no service then 1 bar,2 bars,3 bars...then back down to no service. It drops calls.Iv been trying to find out the answer to this problem for 2 weeks!I have no Profile selection in my settings either to do wat its showing online on one website.and have entered numerous diffrent APNs and none have worked!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!

They're asking a question about carrier settings for their iPhone. I think that has everything to do with Apple.
Maybe they did already ask Straight Talk. I've called Straight Talk before... they're not too helpful.
You know, this forum would be much friendlier if people in this forum would quit squabbling, & posting comedic replies, not too mention name calling (like I did), when people are just needing some help.
It's also frustrating that people stick up for the guy who doesn't help, but rather takes the time to post some smart alec reply. Granted, I shouldn't have name-called... some people just frustrate me when they act like that.
Admittedly, there ARE some grey areas when it comes to carrier questions... but let the moderators do their job when someone is asking innappropriate stuff. And if the mods aren't chiming in, then that's a good indication that what the thread is about IS in fact Apple related.

• How to find the Ranges for a field ?

But now I want the ranges structure for the field VBELN (Delivery Document).
I don't know what is it !!!!!
2, Is there any procedure to know the ranges structure for a particular field ?
Regards,
Deepu.K

Hi Deepu,
Using 'Where used list' you can able to find out RANGES tables.
For VEBLN range table is --> CRM_AC_ASSIGN_VBELN
If you using a program defined as shown below.
DATA: r_vbeln type ranges of vbeln.
The above statement also creates ranges structure in Runtime.
Procedure finding range table structures
go to SE37 -> Enter domain or dataelement value
Go to where used list --> search for 'Structures'
After getting all structure --> Click 'SEARCH' butoon in tool bar --> Search for 'RANGES' word
You can get all ranges tables in the search window
If helps plz reward points.
