What is the serial number that I need to install this new photoshop product I just bought?
I need help. I purchased a new Adobe photoshop elements 11 from Best Buy and I have all the boxes. I try and install this using the numbers on the back of the inner liner but it keeps saying invalid serial number go back and try again. What am I doing wrong???? JIM
When I bought PSE11 at Best Buy, I think that number on the back of the box (a boxid lets call it) is something that has to be entered into a website to get the serial number. The instructions, Including any website, should all be there if you have all what was in the box.
Best Buy transmits what boxids have been sold in real-time to Adobe from the cash-register, and Adobe checks the boxid you enter into the website with the list of actual sold boxes they’ve gotten from Best Buy, before they will issue the serial number.

I am trying to install CS4 web premium on a new computer and have the serial number/date of purchase for this product, but at the start of installation it wants an old product previously installed and what that serial number is. There's a chance it's on some old computer in a box, but I haven't seen / used a product besides CS4 in years (purchased in 2011) and don't know how I can put it on this new computer & get back to using it without knowing this mystery serial number? It appears you purchased an upgrade version of CS4 and if so you are required to prove that you qualify for using it. This means you need to identify the old version and its serial number - no way around that. You will need to find that mystery version information. If you check your Adobe account online you might find it.

The serial number that you might have is an upgrade version & it will be asking for a previous qualifying version serial number.

It does not magically appear in a new place. It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
I am trying to install Lightroom and I am OK until it asks for a serial number. I purchased Lightroom from B&H and the have entered the seal number on the the B&H invoice. Nothing happens, not all the entry boxes are filled with the serial number that was provided by B&H. I looked for a serial number on and in the box it came in, nada. Serial numnbers are platform specific so you will not be able to use it for the Mac if it was initially designated for a PC. YOu will need to perform a platform swap. See the following for information:

It says I should have been sent an email with the serial number once the product was registered - But I never received this email. If I were you I would first make sure CS6 was deactivated or signed-out. Then download Adobe's cleaner and remove cc, CS6 and any other creative application installed including Creative Cloud desktop application. Then install CS6 and use your CS6 serial number during the install to activate CS6 standard or extended which ever the serial number is for. CS6 Version 13.0 should the be activated. That level of CS6 is extremely bug ridden so be sure to the use CS6 menu Help>Updates to get CS6 updates. Windows should update to version 13.0.1.3 Mac to version 13.0.6. Not Subscription CS6 version 13.1.2...
