What is the significance of Party and Service without Party in ID? Help!

Hi Experts,
I often get confused with the Party and Service without Party in Integration directory. What is the difference between these two? When to use Party and When to use Service without party?
Kindly help!
Thanks
Gopal

Hi,
you need to use a party when you want to change some header fields
of your XI message (when communicating in B2B scenarios for example)
with party you can also use IDOC partner profiles other then LS
(like LI, VN)
but in most cases in A2A scenarios you never use the party object

    Hi all,
Please tell me the difference between Service and Service without party  and also let me know what is Business system, Business service and Integration process.
    regards,
    sudha

    Hi Sudha
    <u><b>Party</b></u>
Party is used to represent a Business Partner (doesnt belong to the current landscape) which is defined in B2B Scenarios. So All the systems/services accociated with the Party are referred only as Services.
    <u><b>Service without Party</b></u>
It is used to represent any service within the landscape and is used in A2A communication.

  • Service with party and service without party

    Hi all,
Can any body please suggest me when do we choose service with party and service without party?
We have a scenario where i need to use the webservices provided by the third party Java Based system. i am sure that i need to define Business service as technical details of the system are not available in the SLD. Please do correct me as i am configuring this scenario for the first time.
Any links related to a Web Blog / Thread would be great.
    Thanks and best regards,

    hi
1.we go for service without party when we are having A2A communication.
A2A means application to application communication, it is used when two systems in same landscape try to communicate with each other. Systems in same landscape means both the systems are belongs to same organization or a company.
Normally in A2A communication sender and receiver is inside one organization and developer have freedom to define communication rules .

2.we go for service withparty when we are having B2B communication
B2B means Business to Business  communication .It is used when there is exchange of information between two different Parties or companies or landscape.
When two applications in different companies communicates with each other we call it  B2B Communication.
in case of B2B every party has it own rules which must be followed if we want to communicate between different organization.

  • Error in Service with Party and Service without party scenario

    Hi All,
I  am configuring an external system to customer SAP system scenario.
I have configured the external file system as Service with Party and the receiving SAP system as Service without party.
All the configuration including the "Virtual receiver" set up has been done properly but i am still getting the error "No receiver could be determined".
Can somebody help me on this ?
    Thanks in advance.
    RGds,
    Vasanth.

    Vasanthakumar,
in my previous experiences with internal/external parties communication, I've found out that the best practice is to create an integration scenario and then create the configuration scenario from scenario wizard. It is much simpler and easier.
Briefly, you'll have to create a dummy party/service in order to "wrap" your internal system, since the external party should not receive information regarding internal systems (Business system name, for example).

    Henrique.

  • Party and Service without party

    Hi All,
I totally understand the definition of Party and services, but on an application point of view when do we actually go in for party and when do we go in for service w/o party??? I feel the diff. is minute but there should be an industry std. and I would like to follow it...
My scenario is Idoc communicating to HTTP using XI 3.0..
    Thanks,
    Teresa

    Hi Teresa,
this is more or less a question of organizing your scenarios. Until now I could not experience any difference between "Party" and "Service w/o Party". We use "Service w/o Party" in all internal scenarios, meaning that no external partner is involved. If it comes to a scenario where we need to communicate with external partners then we place it under "Party". That's all about it. I also asked this question on the XI 3.0 education and the answer was the same....

  • What's the difference between Routing and Service Callout in ALSB?

    I am puzzled by that.
    what's the difference between them.
Or what's the situation should use Routing, and that of service callout?

There is little difference between routing and service callout.
Routing is symbolizes the transition of request thread to a response thread starts. (in OSB every invocation of proxy is undertaken by different request and response threads ). So by this definition, there can be only one route node in a pipeline.
Service call out is also used for similar actions as route node , but in pipeline. So service callout can be either in request pipeline (request thread) or in response pipeline (response thread ) . So in a proxy you can have multiple ServiceCallouts but only one route node.
There are some other slight differences.

  • Business system/service Service without party: info needed

    Hi,
I am a newbie in XI world. I have a scenario of interfacing a 3rd party system to R/3 via XI. This system will dump a file to XI which needs to be converted to IDOC for R/3 use and later an outbound interface should send some data in a file format to this 3rd party system.
As per various blogs, I have managed to define business system and basid IR config. Since this a 2 way asyncronous interface,  I wanted to know
1> In XI, do I need to create a separate Buss System for 3rd Party sender interface( legacy->XI->R/3)
and a new Buss system for 3rd party Receiver interface.(R/3->Xi>Legacy). However in R/3 should I can create only one and assign the inbound/outbound IDOC partner profiles. ( But do the names of legacy systems in R/3 and XI have to be same)
2> What is the difference between Party and Service without Party( I saw these in ID). Do I need to define party for my interface scenario. If yes, How?
3> For testing, I wanted XI to pick files from my desktop and then post to R/3. As per various sdn threads, I realise, I need to give the IP of my PC and use Service without party. Since I am new in this area, I do not know how to define this serv-without party for my scenario. Any blogs or threads which define this would be very helpful.
    Appreciate your help and time.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Shirin,
For 3rd party sysytems u can directly configure in ID under bussiness service
we will choose service without party when we are having A2A communication.

communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process. That means we use party only when we r using B2B communcation.for example communication of two diffrent organization who r having different landscape.
The matter of Party comes only when there are number of partners included in the environment. Thats usually happens in B2B systems. The services without party usually happens in normal A2A systems; were normal applications handle the message processing between systems and no multiple partners are interested in same data that are been handled.

Business System : It is registered in SLD,We should have all the technical details to use
it, A business system is something that physicallu exists. generally for R/3 applications
    we use this one.
Business Service : When we don't have all the technical details then we use the business
service, it is mostly used for B2B scenarios.
In ID objects tab in Business service is there, there right click and create the new business service, and fill the details like interface,...
    BUSINESS SERVICE CREATION STEPS:
You can create the Business Service in ID itself. It is an abstract unit and it will act as Business System while exchanging the messages. In ID goto Service Without Party>Choose Business Service>Right Click and say as New>Give Servie Name as your Naming Conventions and choose u r configuration Scenario to adding the same> click on create>It will create the service and u can edit the service>u can find the tabs Receiver,Sender and etc--> Add ur Inbound/Outbound interfaces and corresponding Communication channels.

  • Party & Service without Party

    Hi all,
We have a Party and service without party options in Integration Directory. What is the differece between those two options.

    Hi,
    >><i>Party</i>
Is used to represent a business Partner ( who dosen't belong to the Current company's landscape). It is generally defined in a B2B scenario's. So All the systems/services accociated with the Party are referred only as Services.

  • Difference between party and service

    Hi,
I know  when we are going to  party and service (Normally party means. when we are doing Business to Business ) but what is exact difference  between party and service.. and if possible  definitions  also..
    Thanks
    Babu.

    Babu,
    Refer to url http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/87/1d6e3fefa13042e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    An excerpt
Services without a party are typically used when configuring company-internal processes. Parties (with assigned services) are typically used when configuring cross-company processes.
Also refer to one of your previous forum questions and my response Re: Business System and Business Service Posted: Nov 28, 2007 4:31 PM in response to: BABU
You usually use business system services when configuring internal company processes.
You usually use business services when configuring cross-company processes. In this case, you only make your interfaces known to the business partners involved and either do not make any details about your own system landscape available, or only specific details.
    Hope this helps,
    Mike

  • What is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?

    Hello,
We have created a project as Farm Solution (not sandbox).
Under project properties we can see an option for Assembly Deployment Target : GAC or WebApplication.
I know that GAC will deploy the dll to windows\assemblies and WebApplication will deploy to website/bin folder.
Now, we add a feature to the project; in here we can see a dropdown for scope with options as: Farm; Web; Site; WebApplication. I know that depending upon what option is chosen; the feature can then be activated by going to the respective manage features
option via SharePoint front end UI.
Can you tell me what is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?

    >>Can you tell me what is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?
Feature scope can be decided based on the type of artifacts you will be building
Check the below link for what type of artifacts can be build at different levels of scopes
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms454835(v=office.14).aspx
wrt to Assembly Deployment Target depends on what type of components you are deploying through your solution which will be specified in manifest.xml. There are advantages
if you deploy the components to web application rather GAC like all Apppools will not get recycled, avoiding IIS reset etc. But if you have 3rd party dlls and feature receivers which need to deployed along with the solution then its advisable to deploy to
    GAC

  • What is the significance of having Ver 1 and Ver 2 in a Bal Sheet?

    Hi,
    1. What is the significance of having Version 1 and Version 2 in a Balance Sheet(Income Statement)?
Any real life significance of these versions?
    2. I had a previous question which was not answered, can verify if having version 1 and version 2 in a query addresses that problem:
u201C Is there a way to compare two different income statements (or two Bal Sheets) for say, Year 2005, if Income statement 1 is from R3 but Income statement 2 is from a non-sap system. i.e. to create a variance for them as a means of reconciliation? u201C
If Version 1 and Version 2 in a balance sheet does not deal with this, can you help with it?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    thanks for the response.
Does this versioning process also takes place in Balance Sheet or it is something done only for Income Statements?
Is this the reason why some queries have varaibles to enter Version 1 and Version 2?
If Version 1 and Version 2 are from the same datasource, and you bring all into a DSO, what will be the advantage to separate the Version 1 and Version 2 data different cubes?
To help me get your response well, is the Versioning concept used in addressing the other part of my question:
i.e.  if having version 1 and version 2 in a query addresses that problem:
u201C Is there a way to compare two different income statements (or two Bal Sheets) for say, Year 2005, if Income statement 1 is from R3 but Income statement 2 is from a non-sap system. i.e. to create a variance for them as a means of reconciliation? u201C
If Version 1 and Version 2 in a balance sheet does not deal with this, how do you address this?
    Thanks
