What is the significance of the spinning wheel next to FACES under Library

There is a spinning icon next to FACES - what is it. I have not initiated faces in iPhoto...

They are necessary and you cannot remove them.
Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things,, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

Sorry missed that you already tried to reset the network. About the only thing you haven't tried is Restore from Backup or last resort Restore to New. Just remember to backup your iPod to your iTunes/computer before you restore or you will loose stuff, photos, contacts, music etc. If Restore to new does not solve it you may have a hardware issue, contact your Apple store or Apple Genius Bar to have your iPod evaluated. TS2570 I have the gray screen problem with the white apple and spinning wheel

I have the gray screen problem when it boots to the white apple and spinning wheel, but when I tried safe booting and doing the fsck thing I think I only made it worse, because it now starts, the safe mode progress bar comes on, (no matter if I press any keys or not) and after a minute shuts down again by itself. I also tried the command option, p, r thing and that did not work either, only brought me to the gray screen with the white apple, spinning wheel, and bar, and it promptly shut down. I am thinking more and more that I need the disk, but im not sure I have it. is it possible to order a new one online or is there another thing I can try? there is not an apple store nearby, and ereasing my data is not an option.
Also Im not sure what my exact opporating system is, but I did buy and download mountainlion in August so It is pretty new

What is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?

We have created a project as Farm Solution (not sandbox).
Under project properties we can see an option for Assembly Deployment Target : GAC or WebApplication.
I know that GAC will deploy the dll to windows\assemblies and WebApplication will deploy to website/bin folder.
Now, we add a feature to the project; in here we can see a dropdown for scope with options as: Farm; Web; Site; WebApplication. I know that depending upon what option is chosen; the feature can then be activated by going to the respective manage features
option via SharePoint front end UI.
Can you tell me what is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?

Feature scope can be decided based on the type of artifacts you will be building

wrt to Assembly Deployment Target depends on what type of components you are deploying through your solution which will be specified in manifest.xml. There are advantages
if you deploy the components to web application rather GAC like all Apppools will not get recycled, avoiding IIS reset etc. But if you have 3rd party dlls and feature receivers which need to deployed along with the solution then its advisable to deploy to

Can anybody please let me know what is the significance of the letter "-p" in the JRE installables as i could see that till JRE 1.6.0_13 the name for the Window offline installable has -p {for eg: jre-6u12-windows-i586-p.exe} where as for the higher version i.e 1.6.0_14 onwards there is no letter "-p" {for eg: jre-6u14-windows-i586.exe} .

Will you please tell me the significance of the several letters and numbers in the serial number of my sound card. It is: MASB046755000468S.
I am expecting that it will reveal the model family, the sub classification amongst that family, retail or OEM, date of manufacture, batch, and other interesting details. In case they are of siginificance, other markings on the card are E-G03-05-3757 (B)
Also the Revision is shown as A00. Is that the earliest version? Are their higher revision numbers than this?

The full series OnDemand was a big selling point for me, but the reality has turned out to less than perfect to say the least. I can remember a while back trying to watch The Sopranos from the start of season 1, but they don't have the episodes on long enough for you to watch them. After a while, they take the 1st episodes off and expect you to watch from mid-way through, without watching from the start of the season, not something I want to do.
I've given up trying to watch whole seasons with onDemand, and only use the catch-up service for documentries, Eastenders and the odd comedy show.

Currently there are some dblinks in my database(with dblink names different from the database).
My concern is,
If i make global_names=TRUE, then all my earlier dblinks with that database will not work.
and if I DONOT make global_names= TRUE, then i will not be able to work with Oracle CDC/Streams with the database.
I am looking to find out any work around to overcome this deadlock type of situation.
I would be very thankful if you can give some idea to come out of this problem.

Wheel next to faces will not stop spinning

So iPhoto was merrily plugging along when, the other day, I noticed that the update wheel next to faces began to spin...and spin...and spin. I quit iPhoto and, much to my chagrin, the wheel returned.
The wheel continues to persist, even after I have wiped out all my faces. There's an empty corkboard and yet the wheel continues to spin. It did the initial scan fine, yet persists with the updating wheel.
Very frustrating! I think other people have mentioned the problem to some degree, but I'm posting my experience (and unsuccessful fix attempts)
Any advice???
I have attempted the following "fixes":
Trashed the two faces db files and allow faces to rebuild.
Trashed the iphoto plist preferences files
Rebuilt the entire iphoto library from automatic backup.
Repaired disk permissions.

well looking at this thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2123582&start=275&tstart=0) i could solve the problem, but partially.
what i did:
1- got the iPhoto library rid of movies by exporting them to another folder.
2- reindexed iPhoto library with iPhoto Library Manager.
it worked right away.
but after finding a lot of photos to have the faces on it confirmed, iPhoto quit suggesting faces - although there are still a great lot of photos yet to have their faces confirmed.

Macbook stuck at the apple logo and spinning wheel.

I have an macbook pro 13inch (2009) and when the laptop starts it gets stuck at the apple logo and the spinning wheel.
I have tried resetting the SMC and the NVRam or PRam, but this didn't help. The recovery mode doesn't start either.
The only thing that does work is safe mode. I can boot my laptop normally in safe mode, but when i restart it, it's the same thing. Stuck at the spinning wheel.
In safe mode i did a hdd controll but it didn't show any errors.
Please help!

That suggests that there is a third party application that is the problem. Look for same.

My iMac wouldn't load past the Apple Logo or Spinning wheel. Not it is stuck on the OSX Utilities page?!?!

I have a 2010 iMac.
I have had not one problem with my mac since getting it as a gift, yet since I updated to the newest update. 10.8.2 or something along this, my Mac began to work really slow, and all of a sudden it should down today.
I tried to turn it back on and it was stuck on the white screen with the apple logo, the spinning wheel and occasionally the loading bar underneath.
I have used many forums including this, to try and find a solution. I finally got on to the OSX Utilities page, however, i can't wipe my hard drive clean, can't uninstall my operating system.
It's basically stuck on this page.
I'm a complete novice with Macs really, its used mostly for University work and research.

Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine. Might also apply to new machines the first 90 days. BTW, the AppleCare Protection Plan's the best insurance policy available for desktop machines. Get it if you don't have it before contacting Apple.
Fixing the locked disk w/Mountain Lion installed is something they should be able to rectify.

What is the significance of the "Arch" in Arch Linux?

Why is this distribution called Arch Linux? What does the "Arch" part mean? Surely there must be a reason, for the developers could have easily named this distribution "Bridge Linux" or "Trapezoid Linux" for that matter.

I came across the well-known term "arch-enemy" in a book and clued in that "arch" means "the primary", "the principal", the one that comes first among others. What is the significance of the parameter INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT

I am reading the documentation of BAPI that creates Quotes, Orders etc.,
In these BAPIs there is an import parameter INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT
(Internal Item Number Assignment)
In the documentation regarding this parameter it says as follows:
Default
Space, which means that you have tried to create an order with external item numbering.
What I have noticed is that, if I don't give any value then this parameter gets a SPACE as default value.
If I send an item number manually and run quote create (BAPI_QUOTATION_CREATEFROMDATA2) or order create (BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2) bapis, then it creates the quote or order with that item number, other wise it automatically generates an Item number.
However, what I don't understand is that what other values this parameter
'INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT' can have, since the doc doesnt explain it properly.
Any feedback will be highly appreciated.
