Here's the one I used for iOS 7 (guessing it'll work for iOS 8 too):

If you block this, it'll prevent the check for software updates.

I did a lot of trial and error with my previous camera (JVC Full HD Everio) which I got the same results. My newer Canon should be leagues ahead of the JVC, but I really can't tell as of yet. I pressed record on different settings to take pictures with like portrait to see if it would make a difference and when I uploaded them to my computer I found where it shows the BIt rate and it varied. They run at 23 frames per second 1920 x 1080 MOV video files and all the Bit rates are like 36,356 35,414 ,36,521

Manually set project preset...

When you go to export your edited Timeline content, then use
Share
Computer
QuickTime
with Presets = NTSC DV 16:9 - that is going to be customized to 1080p24 (H.264.mov) under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of that preset
The essential settings under the Advanced Button/Video Tab
Video Codec = H.264
Frame Width = 1920
Frame Height = 1080
Frame Rate = 23.976
Field Type = Progressive
Aspect = Square Pixels (1.0)
Now here is where we are going to experiment....
Bitrate
Check Mark next to Limit Data Rate to and type in 36000 before kbps
note the file size of the export as well as the quality of the playback.
Repeat the whole process but in export
Remove the check mark next to Limit Data Rate. The Bitrate field will be disabled.

What is the rationale for naming a DVD in upper case letters with no space?

I went "brain-dead" and named a DVD disk project (the name that appears on the computer desktop when the disk is inserted) using "regular" text, i.e., upper and lower case letters, with spaces between words. Could this result in any repercussions?
Everything works; the DVD plays fine on my mac & pc + DVD players. If something could go wrong, I'll change the name to all caps and use underscores instead of spaces.

Because the Sonic authorcore in Encore has some problems with spaces, I have developed a habit of using the underscore. Now, when it comes ot all Caps, I have not observed an issue.
Most recent Project had Caps and lowercase characters, and it played on all player that ai tested it on.
Even my Assets lack spaces, but again, this is out of habit from doing hundreds of En Projects, so maybe I am being overly cautious?
