What is the vents color of T61 7658-CTO

Does anyone have a T61 7658-CTO laptop? What is the color of vents at the left side? Do all T series have the same vent color, like copper yellow? Thank.

as long as the serial no./model no. displayed in the motherboard bios (which you can see when you enter the bios) matches that on the laptop sticker, then that should USUALLY indicate it is not aftermarket assembly.
So you are experiencing something out of ordinary with your laptop?
FYI, my 7660 T61 14.1 inch widescreen uses an aluminium fin.

T61 7658-CTO PROCESSOR UPGRADE HELP!

Hello Everyone,
I am sorry for not knowing much about computers, but all I have read are forums/etc...
I have a Lenovo T61 7658-CTO, and it came stock with Windows Vista 32bit. I have now upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, and put a 256GB SSD in it. I also upgraded to 8GB of RAM (even though it may have not been necessary). My T61 is out of warranty, so I don't care about mods/alterations. I am hoping to now to upgrade the processor but I could use some help!
The Processor is currently an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7800, 2.60 GHz, 800 MHz Speed Bus, 4 MB L2 Cache Memory (Mfg P/N: 41U5633 , FRU P/N: 42W7848 , CDPOP Merom DC T7800).
If anyone can help me answer the following, I would be greatly appreciative:
1. Can this Processor be Upgraded?
2. Can a Quad Core be put in place of this Duo Core?
3. What is the fastest / most powerful Processor I can buy that would be able to replace my current one?
4. Does anyone recommend any place in NYC that can install the upgrade?

1) Yes, but you'll need a modded (non-Lenovo) BIOS in order to install a Penryn CPU.
2) No.
3) Depends on how far you're willing to go. I've got a X9000 (2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo Extreme) in one of my custom builds, but that's a $250 CPU. You could go with a T9500 which is a 2.6 GHz conventional Core 2 Duo with Penryn core and can be found under $100.
4) You can do it yourself within an hour, trust me. A lot safer than taking it into Best Buy or some random shop...

T61 7658-CTO compatible 2GB RAM stick?

I have a T61 7658-CTO that I'd like to bring up to the maximum 3GB of RAM that will run with Windows Vista 32-bit. Can someone link me to a 2GB stick that will be compatible with one of the existing 1GB ones?
I think this one might be compatible, but I need some a little more hardware savvy to check.

What does the spinning color wheel mean?

Have been getting a spinning color wheel alot lately, is this a problem?

Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab. Select All Processes from the popup menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Now select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?

What are the best Color "Display Settings" for both my Macbook Pro Retina and Thunderbolt Display??

I have recently purchased a Thunderbolt Display for my MBPr (early 2013) and was wondering what were the best settings for both to obtain an equal color and graphic appearance. I want to have them identical for working on graphics and illustrations.

I have the same laptop. There's nothing you really need to do to optimise the system. Perhaps just install the cuda drivers.

Since the update 10.0.7 a color line appears in the mixer at the zero level.

What Do the Render Colors Mean?

I've been working in FinalCut Pro Studio for about a month now, and I would like to know what the colors in the render status bar mean. OK, I know that RED means "unrendered", and I think GREEN means on-the-fly rendering (I think). Does someone have a list of what the various colors mean? Thanks!

T61 7658 CTO Noisy Fan

I've dug through the Lenovo site and discovered that there are two fans listed as replacements for the fan I have thats recently gone noisy.
Toshiba PN 42W2460 and
Furukawa 44C0825
Do I have to tear into my machine to find out which one to use or are they interchangeable?
I can't see prices either.
Suggestions?
BTW, this unit is close to three years old and for the last two has been heavily used often on 12-14 hours a day.

What are the usable colors for SAPALOGO.bmp (wave animation in GUI) ?

Dear experts,
I was trying to set up an own SAPALOGO.bmp - filmstrip with our companys own
elements. The result is okay as far as the animation is concerned (it's got the
same size and number of included pictures as the original), but the colors are
all wrong, including the SAP-Logo, which we didn't replace.
Does anybody have an idea, which colors can be used? I've read some hints
to this topic saying you should use the same palette of color than SAP did,
but I've seen also examples of "customer-sapalogo"s with colors like orange
and yellow which the original does not contain as well.

the bmp I've used has been a 256 color bitmap in the first place but obviously
there are either colors you are not supposed to use at all or the number of added
colors is restricted.
Meanwhile my animation works after reworking it a couple of times, reducing
the number of colors actually used within the margins of a 256 color-bmp.
I'll leave this post open/unanswered since I'm still interested in knowing more
exactly what I'm allowed to do and what I'm not.

What are the right Color Settings and Proof Setup in Photoshop if you design for the web?

This question has come up numerous times, but I still haven't seen a satisfying, final answer. I would like to make sure that what I'm designing in Photoshop in regards to colors, saturation and brightness will be as close as possible as what I'm going to see in my Safari browser once that same page has been developed.
I understand there are going to be differences between monitors and browsers, but if I just could get an almost one to one translation in regards to color/saturation/brightness from my Photoshop file to that same developed HTML page in Safari that would be ideal.
Currently I set my Color Settings to Monitor RGB - Display and my Proof Setup to Monitor RGB. Not sure if these settings are correct.
Curious to hear your thoughts and advice.

if AdobeRGB is the more professional working space, then why not use that profile?
on the web (and in unmanaged and broken work flows) sRGB is the safest profile (source space)
just open your tagged Adobe RGB and tagged ProPhoto RGB document (use the embedded profile in each document)
and go to View> Proof Setup: Monitor RGB (notice the loss in saturation? that's how most of the people on the Internet will be viewing your color, assuming you have a standard-gamut monitor like most people)
always CONVERT to sRGB for the World Wide Web

anyone who recommends "disable color management in Photoshop" -- set Working RGB to "Monitor RGB" -- AND MOST UNBELIEVABLY -- "Don't color manage this document" (ignore embedded profiles) ------ is pretty mixed up (in my opinion)

I know -- dumb question. But I keep seeing the lights changes from green to orange to white-ish. Can someone explain or give me the right URL to get a list of these things?
