What is this Apple part number: 661-4999?

I was wondering if this can be used to remove the 09 logic board and install the 2010 logic board which is the same, except for the efi firmware to enable westmere on the 09..
Thanks and have a great day!

I wouldn't be so sure about believing that, because that engineer could very well lose his/her job for telling you something like that. Steve Jobs missed his calling as an intelligence officer during the cold war. That, or he's off his meds again. Actually, if some of the stories about the guy are true, I wouldn't be surprised if he's actually a mild paranoid schizophrenic, or at least a bipolar who gets a little paranoid when they have a long manic phase. But I digress.
And contrary to some people's egos, I don't make it a habit of memorizing the various things people here have done with their systems. I pointed out the heatsink thing because a long shaft 3mm hex screwdriver isn't exactly the sort of thing people tend to have in their home toolkits. If you do, then go buy yourself a cookie. When I made that post, you were just another random person on these forums, and 5 minutes after I'm done posting this, odds are I will have forgotten who you are again due to making absolutely no effort to retain that information.
And Apple has been known to completely redesign things because of some need. Look at the new Mac Mini for example. And even the older Mac Minis looked completely different inside over the years. iMac logic boards have changed quite a bit between 2007 and 2009. MacBook and MacBook Pro boards are the same way. Plus, you've seen the processor trays on the 09 models. Tell me, where exactly are they going to stick another 1-2 memory banks? There isn't enough real estate on that board for any more RAM. Maybe if they took the dual CPU version, just moved both CPUs to one side, but then you'd create a thermal buildup in one area, not to mention screw with the weight distribution of the tray when removing it.
Someone is either giving you bad info or risking their job. Neither of which really does a lot to vouch for the person's credibility. I wouldn't go making any plans until I've actually seen the boards for myself.

  • What product is Apple part number MF366ll/a

Found a part number and can not seem to find out which product it is.  Any ideas as to where to find products listed by part number?

Are you asking about an iPad or some other Apple device. There doesn't appear to be an Apple MF366 device. Where are you reading the model number?
You can see the model number in Settings>General>About>Model. The model number has a two-letter code, a number and some more letters. The last part stands for the country/region. The first letter can be "F" (refurbished), "M" (normal retail), or "P" (personalized / engraved). For example MC605B is the model MC605 and B is for the region.

  • What is this apple part # 922-8903

I'm working on repairing a Mac Pro I was given and was looking at part sites to find the parts I need, and there is one that I am not sure I need, and can't find the answer anywhere. Does anyone know what this is? It would seem that it is some sort of 22 watt power adapter, but I am unaware of where this would be located, (maybe a part I need?)
    922-8903 "SVC,ADAPTER,22W,WW-US/EUR/JP/LA/AUS"

Looks like an Airport Base Station power supply: http://www.mac-pro.com/Apple-Airport-Base-Station-A1202-12V-Power-Supply.

It must be PA3513U-1M2G. You must check if this module is compatible with your notebook model. I think so.
Anyway I recommend you to buy high quality product like Kingston modules.

  • What is the correct part number for dvi to vga adapter for macbook pro model A1260

Can someone tell me the Apple part number for the DVI to VGA adapter that came with a Macbook Pro model A1260? (Early 2008)
My adapter has reached the end of useful life.
    Thanks!

You have a MacBook Pro 15" Early 2009 (MacBook Pro 4,1)
The Mac's port is a Dual-link DVI (VGA, Composite and S-video with adapter)
The DVI connector  connects to the Dual link-DVI port, thus you need a DVI to VGA adapter.

You also can search the Apple store online for the part, but it's so basic and simple that paying more for Apple's version is just for looks.

  • What is the keyboard part number for Portege Z30-A-1E5?

    Hello,
I want the Toshiba Portege Z30-A-1E5, but it is apparently only available to buy from German and Austrian vendors with the QWERTZ keyboard. I would like to buy one and swap over the keyboard to either AZERTY or QWERTY (UK).
However I spoke with a company that does this and they cannot confirm that they can get a part unless I can provide them with a keyboard part number (they also can't give me a quote without it), but this number does not seem to be easy to get a hold of without actually having the computer and taking the keyboard off and looking underneath! I feel a bit nervous spending so much money when there is a chance that I won't be able to swap the keyboard over.
So my question is, can anybody tell me what the keyboard part number is for the portege z30-a-1e5?
Any assistance would be much appreciated!!!!!
    Kate

    Hi Kate
Im wondering why you want to purchase a Portege Z30-A-1E5 which isnt available in UK?
The notebooks are preinstalled with a Windows system in different languages. In case of Portege Z30-A-1E5 available in Germany, the system language would be German.
Also the keyboard supports different layout.
Portege Z30-A-1E5 was equipped with an i7 CPU, 512GB SSD drive and 16GB RAM.
Very similar notebook Portege Z30-A-1D6 was released in UK. Its preinstalled with Windows system in English language and English keyboard layout.
Of course the hardware specifications are a little bit lower (256GB SSD drive and 8GB RAM) but I think this could be upgraded much easier as to replace the keyboard.
However, in case you would purchase the Portege Z30-A-1E5, I recommend you to contact the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country for keyboard replacement. The guys could order the right keyboard from Toshiba and could perform the replacement.
Just one note: the replacement should be done by authorized service provider because of warranty validity. The replacement must be performed by authorized engineer to keep the warranty valid.

  • What is the correct part number for the ac-charger for hp mini 110-1191eo (part vj213ea#uuw)?

I need to find the correct part number for the ac-charger for hp mini 110-1191eo (part vj213ea#uuw).
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Good question.
    That I don't have a definite 100% answer to.
It probably is OK. Wattage is what it is rated at. More wattage is probably a good thing, and I have read that = or - .5v is not supposed to be an issue.
You can do a google search of the part number for your power adapter and see if they still carry it, if you are concerned.

  • What is the motherboard part number for DV3-2232TX (VZ462PA)?

My DV3-2232TX is not booting - and only flashing the Scroll and Caps Lock lights 4 times in a cycle.
From searching, this means the graphics card is broken, but it also seems it's built into the motherboard on this model.
It's out of warranty so I would rather just try and repair it myself with a replacement part, as I suspect any HP repairer will charge like a wounded bull for the service.
I can't, however, find the correct part number to order it!

  • What is the correct part number for an iPhone 3g battery

It seems there are many different APN's for iPhone batteries.  What are the proper part numbers for the 3G and 3Gs?  Does it matter what the iOS is?

The only supported source for iPhone batteries is Apple. Take it to an Apple store and they will replace the battery for $79. There are no officially supported batteries available from other sources; all of them are aftermarket replacements. The version of iOS doesn't matter. If you really want to install an aftermarket battery go by the reputation of the seller; that's the best you can hope for. Note that if you replace it yourself Apple will no longer service or support your phone.

  • What does this apple id is disabled, cannot redeem codes mean?

i've been trying to redeem my gift card and i keep getting the message "this apple id is disbled, cannot redeem codes" i tried resetting my password and everything. Whats wrong? Helpppp!

Sorry but I don't.  This error happens all the time on PC when people try to create an iCloud account on their PC, but rarely happens on a Mac.  I recall reading a post once that going to System Preferences>Users & Groups and adding the ID (If not already there) solved this problem for someone, but I can't confirm that this works.  I guess you could try.
You may have to try contacting Apple support on this one: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

  • What is this Apple Application Support program?

Alright, I'm running iTunes on the following systems:
    Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
    Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
    Windows 7 32-bit RC
Linux Sabayon (after some mods to the iTunes code; yes it's possible to run iTunes on Linux)
I just upgraded to this new version of iTunes, and as I was uninstalling the unnecessary crap that comes with iTunes (Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Suppport, etc.), I ran across a new entry that said "Apple Application Support". What is this? I searched Apple's website, and nothing of great significance comes up.

Hey you're lucky you got it. My fresh install of iTunes 9 installed without it and now it won't run.

  • Apple part number for Firewire power cable

I'm going to install the Sonnet Tango 2.0 card in my Beige G4 and I've noticed there is a type of floppy power connection for the card. Looking through the service manual (page 60) there is the exact cable I would need. Anybody knows where I could get a rare cable like this (one that long). Seems like its going to be finding a needle in a haystack, but with the right part number it can surely make the search easy. Thanks!

    http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tango_express.html
    you mean this card?
It's hard to tell from the picture, but is that the same size power plug as on a 5.25-inch hard drive? Those cables are pretty standard and you could find them at most computer supply stores. You might need a Y-splitter to chain from one of the other internal plugs if they are all in use.
Not sure if these are the correct ones or not, maybe you can find the ones that fit on this site, if one isn't long enough you can chain together two:
    http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5fid=925&sku=27397
    http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5fid=925&sku=20413
The floppy drive power plug is smaller I think.
