What is this box?

I get this box every once and a while while working. I am promted to type into this
box and out comes a character from an Asian alphebet. I get a few different choices.
I cannot rid the program of the box unless I close the program. The box follows me
to the saving or opening boxes also. What is it and how can I get rid of it.

  • 3D extrude: what caused this box?

    Whats the cause of that grey box in the 3D extrude below?  I've selected all so that you can see all there is in there; the top is before 3D, bottom is the same object, after 3D.
    There is a raster texture in this group of stuff, but its bounding box is *just* beyond the letterforms. IOW, not nearly as large as this gray box you see below. Thank you for any ideas on this!

    OK I got it!
    You are correct it is caused by the texture.
    First I embedded the image that I used as texture
    2 I copied the outline text group and paste in front or back (turn the visibilty of the ouline text group, that is on top, off.)
    3 select the outline text directly over the texture image and ungroup it
    4. while the ungrouped text is still selected maake it a compound path even though it says it already is
    5. select thie compound path copy of the text and the image and make it a clipping mask
    6 Turn on the visibility of the text on top and give it the fill you want and set the blending mode to Multiply
    7 you can select both copies of the text now (you can group them if you wish but do not have to)
    8. Apply your 3D Effect>Bevel and Extrude and you will get this
    I believed wha cause this was that the text was not ungrouped and perhaps an opacity mask was made instead of a clipping path.
    This is with an opacity mask and the outlined text is not removed.
    I am pretty sure it is the Opacity mask when grouped with the overlaying text set to multiply.

I'd like to finalize it 1080 hd and have tried several times, but just before it's finished, a message box pops up saying it can't be done because "File already open with with write permission."  What does this mean?  All files are closed; this iMovie project is the only thing open.  Does it mean one of the song files from iTunes? And should I just settle for saving it as a "large" file, which is what I'm trying right now?

    Yes, you can use GarageBand loops for commercial purposes. Here's the Apple Doc:

    (Basically the only thing it excludes is to re-distribute the loops as loops.)
    I don't know about the YouTube form, maybe you just fill in "Apple Loops", they certainly have come across this before.

    Unchecked items will not play unless specifically clicked on.  They will not be included on shuffle and will not be synced to ipods.

    Thanks Jeff but I don't think that's it.
    It's not like a plug for a hole, it's about 4" x 3/4" and has a long hole in the middle. Looks like the ipod is meant to sit inside of it and have the cord plugged in but the ipod cannot stand up or lie flat in it. Perhaps it's some sort of adaptor, clicks into something, maybe that the old thicker ipod sat in but it does not fit in the dock of the old ipod, the new one sits in there just fine.
    I'm stumped as to what it could be that Apple thought we were all going to need it.

    Ask Linksys. If you reset the extender it presumably lost the username and password it was supposed to service.  I'd just supply the name and password and move on.

    Hi Eileen,
    With iOS 7, the devices have become more sensitive to the type of cable that is being used to charge the device. I have found that with my iPhone 4, once I upgraded to iOS 7, it became a little more sensitive to even my iPad charger. It doesn't always recognize it if I just plug it in, but if I slide it in slowly until I hear the charging tone, then I can push it the rest of the way in, and everything works as it should.
    Any chance the cable is bent or frayed? How long have you had the device and cable? If it is under a year old, take it into the Apple Store (device and cable) so you can show them what is happening. They should replace your cable.

    I did a search on my system and found the Photoshop has a fastcore plug-in.  Creative Cloud includes a subscription version of CS6 version 13.1.2.   I do not know if you installed that or not.  The cc un-install may have done something.  You may need to use Adobe Cleaner then Install The Perpetual CS6 version of Photoshop  CS6 version 13.0.6 Mac or Photoshop  CS6 version 13.0.1.3 PC and not the subscription CS6 extended version 13.1.2.  Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6   If you need to download the CS6 installer Download CS6 products.
    You may also be able to recover your cs6 using an old system backup
    fastcore.8bx on my system...
