What is this file, and is it safe, and/or can it be deleted?

File ID & it's malware-free status:
FOUND IN WINDOWS HOST PROCESS:
 "C:\windows\system32\RunDll32.exe"
"C:\ProgramFiles\HP\HPOfficejet4620series\bin\HPStatusBL.dll",
RunDLLEntry+SERIALNUMBER_____________+;CONNECTION=USB;MONITOR=1;
Q: Is my pc activity and/or files being remotely monitored, or is this a valid pre-load load file for the HP printer waiting to be connected?
(I don't leave it plugged in)
After being seriously hacked a yea ago- I'm just rather paranoid, so now I question and try to learn about every process, even though it's probably harmless. Bear with my ignorance and tell me what this is, should it be there is it safe, and should or can it be deleted safely?
thnx

You are welcome, gsc.

You are right -- acceptance is certainly part of it.

  • What are shortest file names for outlook express and PSE11 to import photos pls

what are shortest file names for outlook express and PSE11 to import photos pls

Hi, Troubled. The size of the file name is pretty much irrelevant here to PSE, but to answer your question directly, you will be able to import a file that has only a single character as its file name (plus the file name needs to have the required extension, such as .jpg)

  • This file appears to be damaged and cannt be opened?!?!?!?!

I bought an ibook G3 from ebay last year....and its been going good....until now....i write a lot of my stories on my ibook (that i hope will become novels) and i tried to open two of my files but the following message came up...."This file appears to be damaged and cannot be opened." Is there anyway I can reopen these files? Please help....

Have you started up in OS 9 and tried opening them there?
If that doesn't work, you may want to try posting in the AppleWorks Forum. If there is a way to retrieve the files, maybe someone there will know how to do it.

  • Does any one know what the matrix.dms is? And why it is in my picture folder? When I open this file the unarchiver takes over and I see my entire hard drive when I scroll down I see the matrix.dms file with in the unarchiver.

Hello everyone. Does anyone know that the matrix.dms file is? And why it may have came to be in my picture folder? When I opened the file the unarchiver took over, then I saw my files in the unarchiver window. I then scrolled down and I saw the same matrix.dms file within the unarchiver window. I made a video of what saw when I tried to open the file, so as to aide in your understanding of reason for my perplexion at this file. Thank you for your help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QeWH9hRnro&feature=youtu.be

    Hi EMT-B,
It sounds like you have done all the troubleshooting needed to narrow down your issue with the iPhone camera to hardware. Based on the information you have provided, it appears your iPhone needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.

  • What is this file and why can't I do anything with it?

I found this file in All my Files today and it's bugging me a bit. It seems to be a Pixelmator file with the same creation date as the file before with, giving me the impression they're linked somehow. The mystery file, however, doesn't have a location, is bigger than the other file (247 KB compared to 161 KB) and can't be opened.
Does anyone know what it is and how I can remove it?

It's an entry in the Spotlight index, not a file.
Select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Spotlight ▹ Privacy. The list of items excluded from Spotlight indexing is shown (it may be empty.) Click the plus (+) icon to add an item to the list. Select your boot volume (under DEVICES) and add it to the list. Then remove it from the list by selecting it and clicking the minus (-) icon.
Spotlight will rebuild the index. If you try to do a Spotlight search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, a pulsing dot will appear in the icon. When the dot disappears, the indexing is complete. Try the search again.

About once a week to two weeks I receive notification through my anti-virus that this file has been changed. It appears to be part of Firefox. What is it and what does it do?
    Thank you.

thank you thank you for taking an interest. this is so frustrating.
i only have apple keyboard, mighty mouse, and 20 inch cinema display connected. this morning took out memory and tried to boot up with individual pairs in the first bank. first the (2)256, the (2) 1g, and then the other (2) 1g modules. everytime I get the weird fuzzy wheel under the logo after a while, black screen flashes, then grey apple logo fuzzy screen then black forever.
I ran tiger updates this morn. still will only boot to safe mode. then tried to run leopard disk to install it
will not boot from leopard disk.
tried safe boot, then doulble click install leopard, restart, then the saga repeats with the pixely red square around the wheel.
these are fresh drives with only what came on instll disk loaded.
thanks again for taking an interest.
i love this system(well at least i did). I want to install leopard on my powerbook too but am terrified to do so right now since it is working and I have work to do. Can't afford to have no computer to do my work on...self employment is great?!
This is making me crazy. I anxiously await your words of wisdom.

  • What is this file in my plugins directory?

hello, brand new mac user here
listed under /Library/Internet Plug-Ins is this file:
    nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt
which under 'kind' it's listed as document... it's a mere 2KB in size and was last modified in the late evening when i first got my mac (mini) when i was updating and seting up all my stuff
does anyone know exactly what it is?
call me paranoid, but i find that file highly suspicious!
    tia

some digging up shows a little more information about this file:
Note: A bug in the current version of Netscape 6 for Mac OS X causes it not to see the QuickTime plug-in unless a file is copied from the OS X Internet Plugins folder to the Netscape 6 components folder. The file is"nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt" and the NS6 components folder is usually: /Applications/Mozilla1.0/Mozilla1.0.app/Contents/MacOS/Components/ After the file is copied, Netscape 6 must be told to refresh its components list. This can be done either by deleting the xpti.dat file and restarting Netscape, or by issuing the JavaScript command: navigator.plugins.refresh().
from an old copy of the developer.apple.com documentation stored on the wayback machine at
    http://web.archive.org/web/20080830022454/http://developer.apple.com/documentati on/QuickTime/QT6WhatsNew/Chap1/chapter_1_section_57.html
now if that's accurate and it's something to do with netscape why in the world do i have this? i haven't installed anything asides from upgrades and mavericks on that date mentioned in the OP
i'm using safari... as for netscape, wow haven't touched that thing in a very long time
