What is this? /home/user/public_html/? or What is this?
/var/www/username/?. I see these terms all the time. If i'm using
windows xp, and i have a apache installed on my home computer, my
site folder in a htdocs file, how do i show the correct paths here?
Please can someone help me out? thanks.

They are common locations for site roots on a Linux server.

About a week after I got the phone a small icon with the number 1 appeared in the notification area alongside the new email/message/voicemail icons. It now has a "2" alongside it, it looks like a small round grey/blue globe?
What is it telling me?
How do I deal with it?

WAP Push messages are specially formatted SMS messages that display an alert message to the user, and give the user the option of connecting directly to a particular URL via the mobile phone's WAP browser.
You should be able to see it by going to Messages, bring up the Menu, select View Folder, then select WAP Push Messages and click the message or messages shown.

Whats better for home user, 1 big drive or 2 raid 0 drives?

So I am looking to upgrade from my current 160gig HD and I started reading alot of posts here about raid vs. non raid. I use my mac at home, mainly for photoshop, imovie, itunes, and iweb. For the same price I can buy 1 400gig drive or 2 250 gig ones. I already have a 250gig external FW drive that I back up to daily. So with the cost being the same, is there a really good reason for me not to go with the raid 0 option??

I agree with this review. A two drive RAID does not always win against a two drive setup. In addition, The WD 400GB does not work well with the internal PowerMac G5 bus. It corrupts data overtime. If its on a host adapter it works well but I doubt that is the configuration you want.
You can get two Maxtor MaxLine III 7V300F0 300GB for $127 each at newegg and that gives you 600GB for a very small price compared to larger drive pricing.

That's a server message : ebay's computers, rather than yours.
You could try clearing cache & cookies for ebay in your browser : eg. Safari - Preferences - Privacy
& if you still have problems, restart your modem/router.

Thanks, but I have done that. All the settings on the mini are identical to the iPad 3 & still the mini won't work properly. I'm sure it was something I had to change on servers to get both the Macbook & iPad 3 working, just wish I could remember what!! Any more suggestions welcome! Thanks

After updating to Firefox 18.0.1, I am getting a "User Registration" page. What is this?

When I open Mozilla, I get two windows. It sounds like you're trying to replace a home folder. Replace the contents of the folder instead, or use Migration Assistant.

The best thing to do would be to start over. Use Setup Assistant this time.
Boot into Recovery, launch Disk Utility, and erase the startup volume. This operation will destroy all data on the volume. Quit Disk Utility and install OS X. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
When you reboot, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process. That’s when you transfer the data from one of your backups. For a walkthrough, see here:

Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled on the old system.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.

If a user account is deleted and the data for that account is not deleted, it is placed there. Yes, you can delete the files there.

It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)

I would say the left is too blue on the cool side where the iPhone 4 is more neutral, putting it beside that blue screen makes it possibly look yellow, try comparing to something white.
