What is this? Little yellow lock key on the video...I'm unable to open it or copy it everything was fine for 2 weeks...i had this video as a ringtone...(its 20sec long did it myself,so its not copyright protected)

What has happened to the 'little lock icon' that tells me site safe?

There used to be a 'little yellow lock' icon at the bottom of the browser page when I did my banking or when I logged in on ebay etc.. This icon let me know it was safe to use the page/site. When I updated to Firefox 6.0.2. for Windows English the yellow lock icon no longer appears. What has happened to it? Is it there and I need to retrieve some how or have you done away with it...and why?

The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. 
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL. 
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

Nokia 5800 - Screen locking, but not turning off. ...

Had the phone about 2 or 3 months, no real problems so far... About 2 nights ago when i attempted to lock the phone using the keyguard the screen didnt turn off as expected. I still get the small locked symbol in the top right hand corner but the display just stays on and never goes off...
Ive restored factory defualts and updated the firmware but to no avail... any ideas are grealy appreciated

First, Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them.
If that doesn't do it,
This is for a Mac that won't shut down. Launch Activity Monitor (or Process Viewer if you're running a pre-Panther OSX) and see if there are any active applications besides Activity Monitor ( items with icons next to the name), select them, and click Quit Process.
If an app won't quit by clicking Quit, click Force Quit. Then try shutting down again.
If that doesn't work start killing off system-managed programs ( items without icons ) . Be sure to quit only the programs your user account is running; don't quit anything identified as "root" or "nobody" in the User column- and whatever you do, don't quit any of the following : loginwindow, Window Server, ATSServer, or SystemUIServer, which make up the foundation of Mac OS.
Quit one process at a time, and then shut down after each kill until you find success!

p.s.If you install two of a single user licensed third-party application on different computers which are networked, this symptom may occur. If that is the case, a solution is to perform "Erase and Install" for both computers.

What u think about v60...? Is any new or only improvements...?
In my views next update will have some better future like...
1. New home screen with widget support
2. Home screen auto rotations.
3. Improved WLAN performance's .
4. New browser with tabs( I hope)
5. More response in menu
6. Much more better KS all over.
7. Documents support like PDF, DOC, EXEL etc( I hope)
8. Phone memory improvements.
9 Improved cam
10. Music player better performance.

Its end of lifecycle of 5800, Nokia will never post saying that firmware will be stoped.
its based on how stable is the product with last released firmware. And the end of cycle is decided. Nokia will never waste time in fixing each and every very minor bug.
V50 have fixed almost all the bugs in it. If any minor bug which is affecting the function then only next firmware will released.
Customers can not demand for new firmware with added functions, Nokia decides on the market and there future product.

Nokia 5800 volume slider icon problem

Hello everyone I have just bought this phone a couple of days ago and have noticed that when i use the volume keys anywhere else other than when playing music or video back, the volume indicator is nowhere to be seen, the keys still work its just I cant see the slider go up and down . Ive restored my phone to factory settings, reloaded the firmware and still no luck, I did download 1 or 2 themes for it , could that have an effect , thanx in advance

Just tried it on my 5800 and you don't see the volume slider in web, opera etc but the volume adjustment is made. You do see the volume slider in the music or video apps though.
When you use the supplied headphone accessory with the music controls on it and advance the track, you will see a brief scroller on the screen telling you what track you are now listening too. The volume display doesn't come up though.
It doesn't bother me too much at all as I can hear that the volume has been changed.

How do I tell if a site is secure when I'm ordering a product? I'm not seeing the little lock icon. perhaps that was a Microsoft thing.

Nokia 5800 not locking screen automatically

Hello everyone!
As far as I know, you can set up your phone to lock the screen after a period of inactivity, to prevent it from being touched unwantedly. I was able to do it before, but after I did a hard reset, it seems not to work, even though I set the period after which I want it to be locked. Is anyone also having this issue?

Backlight time setting and auto keyguard are 2 separate settings. Did you set the time for backlight or auto keyguard? (Menu-->Settings-->Phone-->Phone management-->Auto Keyguard...)

i want to play movies on my nokia 5800. but it doesnt support avi or mpeg formats. i updated my phone yesterday to version 30.0.011.i wanna know what formats does nokia 5800 supports for videos and movies
my nokia 5800 does not play .rm audio files although it had a built in real media player.......
sometimes it happens tht when i copy more songs.... it copies them in the memory card(e.g) in file manager but does not show all songs in the song list... y is tht

Are you talking about purchasing full-length movies for download? Here's one site: Amazon.com - you have to download their PC software downloader/player first, and then transfer movies to your 5800. To get started, go to their download page for Video on demand.
Buy or find free movies, download using the Unbox Video Player, and then transfer to your 5800 XpressMusic. For help on transferring videos, go here.

Tsup guys, I`m having this new release of nokia s60 5th edition (Nokia 5800 Express Music) but since I bought it last month I`ve started discover some features are not working as I always used to see them to my previous handset (Nokia n73-1). At my previous nokia n73 when I`m on playing music that I`ve store in my handset and then the I receive the sms message its only makes a light beep sound even if I`m on profile that setted another alter tune for sms but in this nokia 5800 when sms comes in the middle of track playback its pause for a time from plyaing the song then start ring the current profile`s sms alter tune then keep on playing the track. On the side of adding sms recipients, if your forwading an sms to more than one person then you`ve started adding recipients by either searching or scrolling you might face some of the contacts doesn`t appear in your list after adding some others even if you do it by search contacts for typing the first alphabets of the recipients you are searching. So in order to get them you`ve to select OK then select the ADD RECIPIENTS again then you will find the contacts that were not seen before. Lastly, on the message writing. When I use the HANDWRITING style, I can write my things well but still up to know I`ve not yet find the area where I can erase the words that I`ve wrotes. Instead I`m supposed to change the keyboard type so as I can get the erease key. Can anybody help me to locate where can I find the erease key when I`m in mode of HANDWRITING style that uses a given special touch-screen pencil. I`m using it which means I`II keep discover many more things that seems these nokia have lack in this model & if there is anybody else found something please don`t hesitate to contribute here too. Nokia 5800 - The phone will hang during restart if...

I had bought this nokia 5800 three week ago. This problem did not occur on the first day. On the second day, after i put in some media files inside the memory card through USB connection (using nokia PC suite), the phone will hang during restart and i need to take out the battery to turn the phone off. This problem keep on happens until i remove the memory card from the phone. Somemore, this problem does not disapear even i remove those media files.
With this problem, i need to remove the memory card evey time i restart the phone and plugin the memory card again after the phone is turned on.
Can anybody help me?
By the way, i would like to ask ---> if i plugin the memory card after the phone is ON, will it harm my phone or the memory card?
The memory card is original card come with the phone.

If this is happening when the MMC is not inserted then the fault almost certainly lies with the memory card somewhere.
A corruption of data can sometimes happen on the MMC when transfering files from pc to phone.
Try the following.
Menu
Applications
File manager
E. Memory Card (select and go into E: drive)
Options
Menory card options
Format
Select Yes
Enter Security code (default is 12345 is not changed)
This will format your memory card, and should delete any corrupted data held on the card.
Note that performing a format on the card will delete all data held on it.

Song titles are greyed out, lock icon on screen in itunes

I'm trying to copy fies to my iPod through iTunes and it seems to be locked. It's successfully connected to iTunes and I see my iPod name/library, however all of the songs are greyed out and theres a lock icon near the bottom of the screen next to the Free 27.13 GB (lock icon next to that).
Is something wrong with my iPod or iTunes? Please help.

That is normal if you are set for auto-syncing the iPod.
If you change it to manual mode, the little lock icon goes away.
