What is up with iCloud mail today?????

I can't get my mail on icloud today Aug 14, 2012. What is going on? Won't go to my iPhone or MacBook Pro Mail programs, and I can't even access it directly through webmail at iCloud??

DDon't literally mean it lol I payed good money for these I'm just very frustrated with what's happening

I put the icloud mail login address in the browser, it brings up the login screen.
I put the login details in correctly, it says icloud has stopped responding, I always send to Apple.
It restarts and I get the right screen, below, but all of the icons are blurred out. If you hover over them they sometimes indicate what they are but won’t let me launch them.
I am using an Advent Laptop with a Celeron processor with Windows 7 and the browser is Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7. (I know I am expecting a lot of it). All of my software is up to date.
Any ideas? I a not very techy but I'm not afraid to have a go...it communit question. Thanks fr your help.

Does for me, so like I already said, if you're expecting any help, you'll have to be more specific.
Just saying it "doesn't work" is useless if trying to troubleshoot your problem.
What EXACTLY doesn't work?
sending or receiving, or both?
sending or receiving from an iOS device?
sending or receiving from the icloud.com website?
sending or receiving from a desktop email client?
logging on at icloud.com?
if using a desktop email client, which one, on which platform?
do you get any error messages?
if so, what do the error messages say?
if you're using icloud.com, what version of what browser are you using?
what have you done so far to troubleshoot the issue (apart from saying "doesn't work)?

Problems with icloud mail constantly auto-saving - screen freezes. VERY frustrating. running windows 8. same problem through safari, explorer and chrome. Any suggestions to reduce auto save frequency?

approx every 30 seconds the browser freezes and 'saving' appears in the top bar of icloud mail. The cursor starts spinning and then after about 8 secs I can start typing again. I also fiund that about 5-6 times a day my icloud browser tab showing mail just close and return to the main icloud menu page showing icons for mail, calender, notes etc

There is an earlier thread that was answered by an Apple employee that states they are seeing the iMessage and Facetime servers are down. It is unknown when they will return, however it generally is not an extended period of time.

How to use own domainname with iCloud mail

I want to use my own domainname email address with iCloud mail and not the iCloud address.
This is important for my business. Can't use a @icloud.com for business.

Try to delete your account from your device (Settings > iCloud) and then set it up again. This fixes the problem in most cases.

I am running os x 10.7.5, on a macbk, I have been using all the apps fine and not changed anything or run any software updates, suddenly my mail dows not think it can connect with the outgoing server for icloud and requests my password, which I give, but it repeatedly asks again and again. I have tried re-setting all the mail for icloud up again, and it thinks its ok, except the box keeps flagging up can't access outgoing server. I have checked it all a number of times, and I can access the icloud stuff including mail from http when I log in there. No carrier "automatically" unlocks at end of contract - many won't do it at all, even if requested. I don't know what your carrier's policy is since you didn't say what country you're in.
However, if I understand you correctly, you didn't change carriers so it doesn't matter if it was unlocked or not. Try the following steps, as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons for at least 19 seconds until the Apple logo appears
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
3. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
4. Replace SIM card (don't care what Telstra says)
5. Restore phone in iTunes as new, without using a backup
6. Take phone to Apple.

Is anyone having problems with sending mail today?

I am having problems sending mail today (as is my husband). I am using the Mail program with my iMac. I am getting constant requests for passwords and sending my in iCloud account just keeps spinning. My husband received an email I sent him although on my computer it was still in the outbox and spinning. Is this network wide or my ISP.

Are you guys by anychance on Optimum Online? My family is having the same issue; they are able to access all services on their 3G devices, and I can access their accounts from my home, which is not on Optimum -- only having this issue through Optimum's cable internet.

Now with iCloud mail, do I delete my Mac and Me Mail accounts on my devices?

My computer and Iphone had email accounts for Mac mail and Mobileme (I think they are duplicates when mac changed to me and I just left them).
Now with Icloud uploaded and configured for all my devices, it appears that both accounts are there but one appears never to be connected and they both quite often ask for my password in that pop up window. So my questions are.
1. Can I eliminate (delete) one from my Mac Laptops? Which one if the answer is yes.
2. On my Iphone: there is only an Icloud and Mac mail accounts (mobileme never came over). Should I keep both?
Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated as its a bit confusing as to how it all ties together.

iCloud uses your mac mail account. If you haven't already done so, here is the sequence to follow:
1. If you have a Mac, upgrade it to 10.7.2.
2. Upgrade any iDevices to 10.5
3. Go to iCloud.com and follow the process to transfer your mail account to iCloud.
It sounds like you've done most of that. The rejected password issue is due to the fact that iCloud is experiencing some intermittant growing pains problems. It kind of comes and goes. If you've managed to connect once, your solid. Just be a little patient as the iCloud mail service usually comes back fairly quickly.

I am using the mail app on my Macbook Pro with charter email. I click the paperclip. Choose the document. It shows up in my email. I click the paper airplane. Wait. Then get...

Connection Doctor is all green.
Checked the SMPT server list and can't find a problem.
All other emails go through just fine.
I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and stay up date.
I remember this happening when I first got my Mac a few years ago and quit using the mail app. because I couldn't solve it. Now it is just driving me crazy.

i have been unable to access my emails for the past week any body else having this problem i have tried to load it in Safari, chrome & IE and i have the most sucess with IE and i can actually reach the Login page but as soon as i log in it keeps saying cannot conncet to server

Incoming is imap.mail.me.com. Outgoing is smtp.mail.me.com (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864). But if you're setting up iCloud mail on OS X Lion or higher, you go to Settings>iCloud and check Mail. This will add the account with the proper settings.

It's possible that you have corrupt preferences. If you create a new user account and launch mail from there do you get the same behaviour?

Connecting Macbook Pro mail with Icloud mail

I can't get my new macbook pro email to connect with my icloud email. I need to know the correct smtp server name and have no clue how to find it. I have already enabled icloud on the computer and click mail. It would automatically configure for some reason.

You don't, and can't, configure iCloud mail settings manually. Check the Mail box in the iCloud preference pane.

I recently bought a brand new 24 inch iMac and Leopard. Most things were fine until I received an unsolicited email on 28th Nov ...from a

since then mail has gone haywire. I cannot delete this email at all. I cant receive any emails and I work from home and am really desperate as this is causing me major stress.
The waste paper icon has gone from my mail window and although emails are deleted from the working window, the dont go in the waste bin or the waste bin in the dock.When I quit ad reopen Gemma Hindley reappears.
Many times a completely different window appears when I open mail one that I have never seen before and is very difficult to navigate. many of the icons in the mail header bar are non operative with this window.
Other times Mail wont open, or wont quit, or cant send emails, have nt received any since Gemma this email. Then I went through this forum and found that if I
Open mail go to prefs general and switch check mail "manually.
Force quit mail
Open Mail again go to prefs junk mail and turn off spam filtering
This then allowed me to open the usual mail working window and I received that infuriating email again and no other ones at all. I have sent myself emails and so have others but they have not been received by me at all. the above steps allowed me to send emails.
There is obviously a problem with Leopard mail. Whether or not this email has corrupted my mac I don't know. It looks like it is blocking all my incoming emails.
I am not as adept as many of you on this forum, just a simple user trying to earn a living and not able to do so at present. Help greatly appreciated.

For anyone else reading this thread, it is worth knowing that sometimes an email is, or can be, corrupted thereby jamming the works. The solution above is good, but I just wanted to suggest another one.
If the problem arises, go to an online mail access service, such as Mail2Web.com and login to you mail account there and delete the offending message.
Problem solved.
And George, as this is all entirely voluntary, whinging about no takers may not endear people to you. Besides which, a few minutes of searching on Google would have found you a number of solutions.
