what is use of exclusion indicator in access sequence, if we tick this indicator what will happen to pricing procedure..

If you are having more than one condition tables i.e accesss in your access sequence and if you put exclusion indicator in any of the starting tables then system wont search further as it stops searching.
Ex : say you are having condition tables 501, 502,503
and you have put exclusion indicator at 502 . then system will start searching from 501 then next it goes to 502 and it stops there and it wont search further.as you have put exclusion indicator at 502.
But if you have put exclusion indicator to all accesss i.e., conditon tables then system will search from the 1st access and stops at the last access and if any valid condition record is not found in the last record then the system will take the previous conditon table record

In one access sequence there will be somany condition table key combination.. suppose u create condition record for all those key combination...
In sales order when system search for the condition record, system will get the vale from the first key combination itself....so if we mark tht field, system wont check for other key combination.

I can get my text id's at sales document header/item level by simply assigning my defined text id to the text determination procedure.
now, what is the need for having an access sequence where a text abject and text id is maintained??

Define Access Sequences For Determining Texts
In this IMG activity, you define the access sequences which the SAP System uses to determine the texts for a text object.
Afterwards, you specify an access sequence for the text search in the determination procedure for every text type.
You only define access sequences for sales and distribution documents, not for customer master records.
With an access sequence, you define the sequence and the requirements of the search used by the SAP System to find a text.
This allows you, for example, to have the system check whether a text exists in the customer language. If this is not the case, then a text in the sales organisation language can be searched for. If this is also unsuccessful, you can have the system carry out the search using English as the fixed value.
To do this, you make the following specifications for every access sequence:
acc. no (access number)
With the access number, you define the sequence in which the text objects of an access sequence should be read. The element with the lowest access number is read first. If an appropriate text is found, the search is ended. Otherwise, the SAP System checks the element with the next number up.
Text object
Here, you define which text objects should be checked by the SAP System for an access sequence.
In the standard SAP R/3 System, for example, in the access sequence 0001 for the text object sales document header is defined, that the SAP System first searches for a form header text in the preceding document (text object VBBK) and afterwards for a sales note in the customer master record (text object KNVV).
ID (text type)
Here, you define which text type is to be read from the specified text object.
It is recommended to select the same text type for the text to be copied. For example, the text for the form header in the customer master record (text type 0001) should be copied into the text for form header of a sales document (text type 0001).

Problem with access sequence

Hi guys,
We have a typical problem. When i verify a condition type 'A' through MM path, MM-->purchasing >conditions->define price determination process -->define condition types,the accesss sequence shown for the condition type is 'X'. But when i go through the condition type through FI path, Financial Accointing --->Global settings -->Tax on sales and purchase -->Basic settings --> check calculation procedure it is showing the access sequence for the same condition type as 'Y'.
Why is it happening like this? Is it a standard thing? When we use this condition type, which access sequence we should use for maintaining the condition record?

Hi Chintu,
1. The condition that you see in MM customisation is purchasing side Pricing Condition.
2. While the one you see in FI customisation is for Taxation Sale and Purchase.
Both of the above have different pricing schemas.
Incidentally you have a condition type with same name defined in both of them. Hence the access sequence which has to be picked will depend on whether the condition is used in Tax Procidure or Purchasing Pricing Procedure.
So depending on your use of Condition type maintain the respective access sequence.

Hi,
An access sequence is a search strategy with the aid of which the SAP
System searches for valid condition records of a certain condition type.
For example, you can stipulate for a price that the SAP System first
searches for a price for a specific plant, and then for a generally
applicable price.
For condition types for which you wish to maintain conditions with their
own validity period, you must assign an access sequence. With this, you
define which fields the SAP System checks in searching for a valid
condition record.
e.g. When you create condition record (e.g. Purchasing condition record) you enter condition type, system asks you the key combination to enter the entries. These key combinations are nothing but the access sequence. On the basis of combination of condition table it will search record. e.g. when u maintain condition record with acc seq Material/plant combination, it will transfer the same record in PO when u enter same material and plant in the PO.
Example:
An access sequence has been assigned to condition type PB00 so that
prices can be maintained in purchasing info records and contracts.
No access sequence has been assigned to condition type RC00 because it
does not have a validity period of its own. In the standard system, it is
always maintained simultaneously with the price and is valid for the
period of the price.

The Return Active indicator enables you to specify that a return is possible when time sheets are converted into external services (i.e. incorporated in service entry sheets).
If you have selected the activation indicator for the return, you can retrospectively change a time or quantity in a time sheet that you have already incorporated in a service entry sheet. As soon as you convert this changed time sheet into external services, the system generates generates both a service entry sheet with the new data and a return document cancelling the original data. The system sets the Return Indicator in this document.
Where you can use this Indicator
In a time sheet for which you have already created a service entry sheet you subsequently change a specified time or quantity and reconvert the time sheet into an entry sheet for externally performed services. The system then creates both an entry sheet with the new data and an entry sheet in which the original data is cancelled and the returns indicator is selected.
The return indicator cannot be selected manually, but is set only by the system after the conversion of a changed time sheet into external services.
To facilitate the return of time sheets during the service entry process, you must select the relevant Activation Indicator in Customizing for External Services Management.
Source Determination and Default Values -> Specify for Client -> Returns Active.

What to use for remote access server?

Ive used an old 2500 in the past with multiple serial connections to achieve console connections to all my devices in remote offices. Does anyone have recomendations on what to use now a days? I dont want to put in an old 2500, i would reather use something more mondern. Ive seen a lot of devices out there, but I dont know whats good and whats crap. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks

I use an older Cisco 2600XM with an ASYNC 16A module in the AIM slot.
I believe this module will work in most current updated routers.
This module also comes in ASYNC-8A and ASYNC-32A.

Hello, I have a question about the exclusion indicator in IT1017 (PD Profiles. We are upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. This indicator was not available in 4.6C. We are now concerned that users may inadvertently set this indicator and the recipients authorizations will get impacted.
The documentation only states that "This field allows you to exclude branch structures from structural authorizations."
We have found that if the flag is set (and RHPROFL0 runs), the impact to the user is that they can only see their own data. We have also found that, in order to remove the flag you must remove it from IT1017 and re-run RHPROFL0 with the "delete manually maintained authorization profiles" - PD Authorizations flag switched on.
Can anyone help explain, what the exclusion indicator is used for? and it's function?

The exclusion is used to exclude a specific piece of a structural profile you assign to a user. Example: your user has a structural profile to see all HR infotypes within his/her department. However you don't want this user to see the managers data. You can create a separate structural profile that contains the manager's personnel number.
You assign both structural profiles to the user. Either directly "on the user" using transaction OOSB (Table T77UA) where you see an identical exclusion indicator. The "manager" structural profile will have the exclusion indicator set. That way the user has access to department data exclusive the managers data.
If you assign it on the position by IT1017 you set the exlusion indicator there. You will see that if you run RHPROFL0 that T77UA will be updated with the 2 entries for the user and one will automatically have the exclusion indicator set.
The concern that users inadvertently change this indicator should be very small since there should not be very many users that have access to PO13 and/or OOSB in a production environment.

Using Multiple Domain Names to Access Our Portal

We operate one domain corp.company.com but all internal intranet web servers get assigned the address inside.ZZZ. The inside.ZZZ is on our IE exclusion list but company.com is not. Adding company.com seems to be a miserable task so we are looking at adding an alias so our users can access the server at the new inside.ZZZ url. We have DNS pointing the URL to the right server and that seems to be working properly.
Something within the application is redirecting the page to gnwhepdev.corp. company .com (our servers domain address) after the initial login. Since *.corp. company .com is not in the exclusion list, it is considered an outside address and rerouted. We are trying to find some way to pass the alias within the application itself so that we dont need *.corp. company .com in the exclusion list and we can point users to the inside.ZZZ url.
Our team researched this issue and found documentation that supported the use of multiple domain names to access a Enterprise Portal. The documentation that we found is below:

You must have sever proxy servers, each with a different domain name. You then activate the filter mechanism and configure it to work with several proxy servers
We have several questions about the possiblities of being able to set this up and whether it would require another server where Web Dispatcher would need to be installed for this configuration to work properly. Can someone please provide some insight into what needs to be configured and answer the question about the Web Dispatcher? Also, if Web Dispatcher is required, what steps need to be done to configure? If Web Dispatcher is not needed, what will we need to do apart from that to set this up for our Enterprise Portal system?

Access Sequence - Exclusive

Hello Guys,
I have got a question, this might sound a little easy for sap Gurus.
The exclusive indicator prevents the system from reading the
condition records ,if it found value for existing condition
table.It is a control for the system to access condition
record from the database.
EX--:If you assign an exclusive indicator option for a
condition table in access sequence ,and if the system finds
condition records for condition table in access sequence
,then system does not go to the next condition table .
My question is what if we do not check the exclusive, how does it behave??
Will it search all the conditions records and after search which one will it consider??

In this case system will populate all the condition records int he access sequence but will activate only one them with a green signal and others will have yellow signals.
I do not have SAP access right now but it is sure that either system will activate the first one or the last condition record.
It is a SAP standard functionality that only one basic price can be there in a line item,so for this reason other will be deactivated(yellow signal).

I just have a simple question. What if we do not check the exclusive indicator box for the condition tables in the access sequence. What condition record does the system pick? Does it pick the last one, or the best one after going through all the condition tables or the first one it found??

you will get all conditions, if you dont stop the search by the exclusive indicator.
Normally, all conditions are valuable --- if you ask in combination with the exclusive indicator.
There is other customizing, tha will regulate, which of the multiple condition will be active or inactive.

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro last updated to the Mavericks OS. The screen died and I took it into an Apple store and was told replacing the screen and the hardware to repair everything would cost almost as much as buying a new laptop or a cheaper model. I was told that I can use a drive sled to access data I need on my hard drive. How do I remove my hard drive and use a drive sled to get to the information I need? What makes matters more complicated is I need to update my iPhone and my iTunes/App store purchases. How can I accomplish this?
My wife has a late 2008 Macbook Pro as well, which I am assuming I need to run my hard drive. Is there a way to just access just my hard drive without interfering with hers?

the device you need is an External enclosure for a 2.5" (laptop form factor) SATA drive.
A USB-interface enclosure will be slow, but is adequate for this task and for re-purposing as a backup drive later. A firewire-interface drive would be faster, but is harder to find, more expensive, and faster than needed for this purpose.
The drive will mount as an "extra" drive on your wife's Macbook, and you can drag and drop whatever you wish. You could create a separate Account for yourself on her computer, and use Migration Assistant or just copy your stuff over to the new account. Then it would not interfere with her files.
