What is wrong with email system?
Ever since Verizon forced this new interface / format on us, I've had nothing but problems accessing and managing email. Can someone please get this problem resolved. It was horrible at the end of last month, then better in January, and now horrible again. I can log in and see my emails, but when I click on them to access, they won't load. (System times out.) Similarly, when I try to delete an email or forward, it's a 50-50 chance that it will happen. It's taking me twice as long to access email, and I'm definitely considering another provider.....
Please revert to the "old days" of a couple of months ago!
My E mail is working fine! I am using IE8 and Windows XP. I have had some problems in the past. Report your problem to "feedback" on E mail page.

What is wrong with this system anywaay???
I went through heck registering and trying to figure out where in the blazes to post something. Like everything else connected with this system, Adobe, pdf, reader, media player, &tc... it's hopelessly overloaded barely to outright non functional and complicated. I hate it, hate it and all else to do with it but it can't really be avoided. I cannot for the life of me understand why it's so prevalent.
But what I went to all this bother to try and find out, is, why is it, how can it be, so popular when it's so royally screwed up?! At least, I must assume it's screwed up because they are constantly, constantly! updating it, updating, updating!!, UPdating!!! sometimes as many as 2 or 3- maybe more, updates in a week. And then it seems to get so bolixxed up that it has to be uninstalled, reloaded, and updated two or three times immediately upon downloading before you can get anything connected weith it to work again! I swear it's about to drive me up a wall with all this updating!
If it's that so impoosibly fouled up that they can't ever get it right, why don't they just flush it down the darn drain and try to come up with something that will work!?! Would somebody please answer me that?First of all, there's no problem with the updates. I load one, and another comes along, I load it and another comes along. I have had them come twice in one day and on two occasions twice in a row, that is I had to add an update to the update I had just updated before the thing was finished.
As for complain to adobe, I would love to. Which Adobe. look at the list and there is an Adobe this, Adobe that, adobe othe and adobe another followed by dobe yet another not to be done before there is an adobe this, that and another. Which is the real adobe???
I tried Googling it hoping to find some one site but they have so surrounded themslves with gobbledegook that it's near impossible for any outsider to get in. It's tougher to get into than a union!
Since I am familiar with forum usage, I had hoped to find some knowledge from these. But, here to they have themselves insulated by overlapping barriers. -
What's wrong with my system? details inside...
hey all.
i'm using the k8t Master 2 FAR board with dual opteron 940 (1.8 ghz) chips and 2 gigs ddr ram, ecc registered 266 mhz. the video card is a 256 meg ati 9600. monitor is a 17 inch samsung lcd. power supply is 400 watts.
when i turn on the system for the very first time, things power up. fans, lights, etc. however, the monitor says "no sync." it's better than n*sync but still not what i want.
monitor is fine. i plugged it into the vga port on my laptop and it worked perfectly.
video card is fine, i plugged it into a different system and it worked perfectly.
now here's the thing: i originally had a refurb motherboard and this is what happened. i called msi and they told me the mobo was probably bad. so, i returned it to new egg and got the same motherboard, but *this one is brand new.* same results, exactly.
the motherboard is not in a case, it's resting on the non-static bag it came in on a wooden table. the psu is grounded through the grounding prong of the plug, which i'm told is all that's technically needed.
what the heck is going on?
thanks all!
renyeah, it's a socket 940 (not the 748 or whatever the other ones are...), but the chips themselves are the 244 i think (1.8 ghz.)
power supply is here (it's easier than trying to explain it...):
http://www.electroseller.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PS_400W-AGPB-1U&Category_Code=_1U
what do you think? will i ever play piano again?? *sniff*

What is wrong with my font? Squares instead of letters - Help!
Can someone tell me what is wrong with my system font? Everytime I need to put my administrator key the login page will appear but with weird glitched font of squared A's all around (see picture). I can't recall that I have done any installations that would mess with it.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards,
BartYou have a bad System Font.
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Once Disk Reports OK, reinstall the OS. -
What is wrong with this subscription?
Hi,
I have read most of the posts about subscription here and still I can't find a satisfactory answer...
Here is my problem:
I've got a 150mins Dominican Republic landlines subscription, which I purchased on the 9 Dec 2010 for a year. During that period (until now) I have never been able to tell when my minutes will restart... the process seems to be random and frankly quite arbitrary. The same subscription was renewed on the 9 Dec 2011 (I've already got a payment receipt for it!), however it is Dec 12 and still I've got no signs of my minutes. What is wrong with your system of subscriptions? How can I work out when each month I'll receive the minutes from the subscription? Why the minutes can not simply be reloaded at the same day each month?
I am looking forward to your assistance.
Regards.I'll gladly explain the minutes reset.
Limited subscriptions are reset based on initial purchase date and time.
Here's how you can find out the exact date and time
1) Open your order history by clicking on this link
2) Locate the first subscription payment (not recurring payment)
3) Click on order ID
(You should see something like this)
This means that subscription minutes are reset every month on the 12th 17:47 GMT
GMT time: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/
I hope this clarified the subscription reset.
Note: If subscription was not reset as expected then please contact customer service:

When I try to send an email either new, or reply on my phone I receive a notification that recepient will not allow relaying. The email will then sit in my outbox. At some point it will send but it is hardly dependable. What is wrong with my settings?
The collum to the right listed similar problems. The solution appears to be that under smtp outgoing settings the user name and password are listed as optional. I have not plugged in the information and it seems to be working. However from my office it always allowed the relaying. The true test will be when I try to respond later from the road.
Thank you for your help. -

I'm trying to add the system date with a Label. What is wrong with the code
import java.util.*;
import javax.swing.*;
public class CurrentDateApplet extends JApplet
Calendar currentCalendar = Calendar.getInstance();
JLabel dateLabel = new JLabel();
JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel();
int dayInteger = currentCalendar.get(Calendar.DATE);
int monthInteger = currentCalendar.get(Calendar.MONTH)+1;
int yearInteger = currentCalendar.get(Calendar.YEAR);
public void init()
mainPanel.add(dateLabel);
setContentPane(mainPanel);
dateLabel.append(currentCalendar.get(Calendar.HOUR) + currentCalendar.get
(Calendar.MINUTE);
}As for what's wrong with the code, it would be easier if you said: it doesn't show the date (it does this instead), it doesn't compile (I get this message) etc.
Anyway I'll assume you want to display the time in a label...
dateLabel.append(currentCalendar.get(Calendar.HOUR) + currentCalendar.get
(Calendar.MINUTE);This won't compile: the parentheses are mismatched, and there is simply no such thing as append(). So we could trydateLabel.setText("" + currentCalendar.get(Calendar.HOUR) + currentCalendar.get(Calendar.MINUTE));This wroks, but looks pretty nasty and it's not how you are supposed to format dates and times. Here's the unofficial party line, nicked from one of jverd's posts:
Calculating Java dates: Take the time to learn how to create and use dates
Formatting a Date Using a Custom Format
Parsing a Date Using a Custom Format
From those links you should be able to find those applicable to times like this: http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.text/FormatTime.html
Using this approach you would end up with something like:import java.text.Format;
import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
import java.util.Date;
import javax.swing.JApplet;
import javax.swing.JLabel;
import javax.swing.JPanel;
public class CurrentDateApplet extends JApplet
private Date date;
private JLabel timeLabel;
private JPanel mainPanel;
public void init()
mainPanel = new JPanel();
timeLabel = new JLabel();
mainPanel.add(timeLabel);
setContentPane(mainPanel);
date = new Date();
Format formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("HH:ss a");
timeLabel.setText(formatter.format(date));

You email address has been removed from your post.
You wouldn't want bad people to send you spam messages for the rest of your life, eh?
Moderator Advice:
If this is the same E2900 that you have mentioned in every one of your other forum posts, then it would seem you need to contact Technical Support and open a proper support request. These forums are NOT techsupport and that system seems so poorly configured that it needs deep analysis. Such investigation cannot be done by using an online forum.
The immediate solution is to log on to the SC of that box and power it down, then boot it back up. At least it will be running after that. -
What's wrong with networking since Leopard?
Hi,
I'm with Mac since years. I was a PC User once and spent hours with all kinds of network troubles. What convinced me with Mac right in the beginning was easy networking: It just worked!
But since Leopard things got worse: I have several MBP's, iMacs, Airport Extreme's and Airport Express's at different places which I installed, and I face the same problems at EVERY place:
- I can't connect to AExtreme for several reasons: timeout, security incompatibility, ...
- Sometimes only two Macs are allowed to connect to one AExtreme
- Airport doesn't find Aiport or any other networks for minutes
- After connecting to the router, can't get an IP (self-assigned IP only) - other PCs get an IP.
- Aiport Extreme crashes (yellow blinking)
- connection loss (even when AExtreme is very close)
Now I know about networking, about configuration, I've done this for years. Whatever I do, problems disappear and appear again, at different times, at different places with different hardware.
What is wrong with Leopard? Such problems remind me of times with Windows98 and stuff like that.What's wrong with networking since Leopard?
on my network and many i have setup there have been no problems with leopard. However there are always teething problems with new operating systems. Thankfully with leopard only a tiny percentage of users experience technical difficulties.
can't connect to AExtreme for several reasons: timeout, security incompatibility,
is it set to use WPA/WPA2
Airport doesn't find Aiport or any other networks for minutes
sometimes my macbook pro takes a while to show up any networks if there are lots in the area this is because it is scanning them all.
After connecting to the router, can't get an IP (self-assigned IP only) - other PCs get an IP.
What kind of router are you using? What happens if you powercycle the router?
# Aiport Extreme crashes (yellow blinking)
# connection loss (even when AExtreme is very close)
Have you tried resetting your AE to default. reinstalling its firmware or checking for a firmware update?
Have you tried changing hte wireless channel your networ is broadcasting on?
What is wrong with Leopard? Such problems remind me of times with Windows98 and stuff like that.
Did you upgrade install your leopard installation or did you do clean (erase) installations?
Have you tried created new network locations? -

So I am not sure what is going on?
Anyone have similar situation?
what did u do to get Safari working again for you?
thanksIf you're running 19.7.4, then you're installation is hosed. Safari 5.1.7 is what ships with that version. If you failed to save the ill-designed installer, then you'll have to waste resources installing again (necessitates DLing the entire 3.6+ GB monstrosity).

I can't figure out what's wrong with this code
First i want this program to allow me to enter a number with the EasyReader class and depending on the number entered it will show that specific line of this peom:
One two buckle your shoe
Three four shut the door
Five six pick up sticks
Seven eight lay them straight
Nine ten this is the end.
The error message i got was an illegal start of expression. I can't figure out why it is giving me this error because i have if (n = 1) || (n = 2) statements. My code is:
public class PoemSeventeen
public static void main(String[] args)
EasyReader console = new EasyReader();
System.out.println("Enter a number for the poem (0 to quit): ");
int n = console.readInt();
if (n = 1) || (n = 2)
System.out.println("One, two, buckle your shoe");
else if (n = 3) || (n = 4)
System.out.println("Three, four, shut the door");
else if (n = 5) || (n = 6)
System.out.println("Five, six, pick up sticks");
else if (n = 7) || (n = 8)
System.out.println("Seven, eight, lay them straight");
else if (n = 9) || (n = 10)
System.out.println("Nine, ten, this is the end");
else if (n = 0)
System.out.println("You may exit now");
else
System.out.println("Put in a number between 0 and 10");
I messed around with a few other thing because i had some weird errors before but now i have narrowed it down to just this 1 error.
The EasyReader class code:

* EasyReader provides simple methods for reading the console and
* for opening and reading text files. All exceptions are handled
* inside the class and are hidden from the user.
* <xmp>
* Example:
* =======
* EasyReader console = new EasyReader();
* System.out.print("Enter input file name: ");
* String fileName = console.readLine();
* EasyReader inFile = new EasyReader(fileName);
* if (inFile.bad())
* System.err.println("Can't open " + fileName);
* System.exit(1);
* String firstLine = inFile.readLine();
* if (!inFile.eof()) // or: if (firstLine != null)
* System.out.println("The first line is : " + firstLine);
* System.out.print("Enter the maximum number of integers to read: ");
* int maxCount = console.readInt();
* int k, count = 0;
* while (count < maxCount && !inFile.eof())
* k = inFile.readInt();
* if (!inFile.eof())
* // process or store this number
* count++;
* inFile.close(); // optional
* System.out.println(count + " numbers read");
* </xmp>
