What is wrong with my ipod nano 4th gen?
My ipod nano 4th gen's screen is white. its been white for about 3 years. I've reset, and restored it many times, nothing works. I have no idea what i should with it. I'm thinking about selling it, but only if somebody is able to fix it or get it fixed... Please help????

I have an 8gb 4th gen ipod touch that I purchased in December 2011. I charged it completely last night after doing a full reset, and by morning the battery was only at half charge. I've turned off all unnecessary services, no apps were running, no music/video play, just in sleep mode. Still the battery drained down at least 50%.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Have you found a way to extend the battery charge?Try this:

You did not say if the iPod was in airplane mode. That helps a lot. With iOD 5, the battery does drain faster than before. -
what is up with the iPod nano 7th gen. I just had a second one die. both after only 3 weeks of useage... both dead since Jan 10th 2013.
this is an answer I just gave to someone else.
i'm going to ask you to try something I just did to fix a maybe simular problem that worked..... but I don't know why yet........make sure your iPod in plugged into your computer (mine is a Mac) and iTunes is turned on. My iPod was also "dead" but had been plugged into my computer for a couple of hours (but not lit up in any way). Then (in desperation) I held down all the buttons, the on/off (on top right), the small Home botton at the bottom of the face, and the volume/pause buttons (left side). For whatever reasons my iPod came back to life in a needs restoring mode ....and asked me to restore it in the itunes like "new' iPod connected mode. Since I have a Mac I also had to give permission to do a download by entering my computer password. If you have to do the same have that password ready. Then it did a restore software download. Everything previously on the iPod was erased and had to be re-synced, but I was just thankful to get it up and restored again.
Give this a shot and I hope it works for you.....but why? I don't know yet, I need more questions answered. -

What is wrong with my ipod touch 2nd gen?
Ive had this iPod since mid 2010. It's running iOS 4.2.1 and it's not jailbroken. A few months ago I encountered a problem with it. It started to fast forward my songs and pause them and skip them as if it had a mind of it's own. I thought it was a one off and it never really happened after that. Yesterday something happened to it which forced it into recovery mode and I had to restore it to factory settings. Today I added some new songs onto it and I starte listening and all I could hear was music and no singing, then I could faintly hear the singing. I thought there was something wrong with the song so I changed it and it was the same with the next one. I've tried 3 different sets of heaphones which all work on other devices so it's not the headphones. So my iPod has kind of turned into a karaoke machine but with some songs it works ok for a while but then messes up. Also I've noticed that the fastforwarding thing has become much much worse after I restored it.
I'm really stuck. What should I do? Everything else works fine on it. All my apps are ok. Just the music player is stuffed. Could the headphone jack be broken? It worked fine yesterday before I restored it. Should I restore it again? I've already tried restarting and resetting it and neither of them worked. Also I don't have much space left on it, should I take off the movie that ive got on it? Maybe the memory is kind of choked up as well? Thanks for any help guys. As I said pretty much everything works fine on it and I'm trying to not buy a new iPod if I can help it. Oh and sometimes when I'm typing and press the backspace button once or twice it goes and deletes everything on it's own. Things run slow-ish as well. Anyway to improve that?
Oh and may I also add when I can hear the singing in the songs sometimes it's normal, sometimes it sounds like they're singing underwater, sometimes it sounds like they're singing live, sometimes it sounds like they're robots...it's not how the songs are meant to sound. They didn't sound like that before and they don't sound like that on my laptop. I have a problem with the headset of my ipod nano 4th gen. the right side don't have a sound. It comes in and out. what do I need to do.. I am using the original headset eversince. I tool it to a Apple Mac Cennter and Taked with a Service Center Rep. And he told me that they can't do anything because they don't repair the ipod they didn;t even look at it. They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod. -
When I plug in my iPod nano 4th gen to iTunes and click on my iPod, I can see a graph showing how much space is available on my iPod and what it is being taken up by. A lot of space is taken up by 'other'. What is this? I have a big iTunes library, with about 2000 songs, so I don't want all this space taken up by something I don't know what it is. How can I get rid of it?

does anybody know what is wrong with the ipod when error 1437 is reportedduring the restore cycle?
Double check the connections on each end to make sure they are nice and snug. If possible, plug the Nano into another existing USB 2.0 port.
Also, with the iPod still connected, try resetting it. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or the Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Then try restoring the iPod again.

What's wrong with my iPod's Cover Flow??
I have an iPod Touch 3rd Gen, 32Gb, and recently updated to IOS 5.
Since then, the iPod's cover flow feature is extremely slow, doesn't flow smoothly, and crashes after a few (15-20) seconds.
Today I noted something else: some album covers appear pixelated and blurry, even though HD. Those covers looked just fine until now.
As a side note, I have in use 30 of the 32 Gb (that's a lot of music, I know). Could this be related? I never had those problems before IOS 5, though.

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use a previously formatted iPod Nano (4th Gen) with a Mac that has XP Bootcamped on to it. If the Nano is placed in manually manage music with the original computer it was formatted with, will it be able to accept music, movies, podcasts, etc from the windows on the Mac or will they still be incompatible?

That macsales.com link is interesting but I'm not in the US (I'm in Croatia), and all those brands are supidly expensive here, that $80 esata docking station is almost $200 here... bahh. For that price I may as well buy a whole new 3TB external disk, I want to dock the old one to save money.
