What is wrong with my screen? It is blue with bubbles.

Can anyone help me?  I turned in the iPad and it had a blue screen  and watermarks/bubbles on it.

Has the unit EVER been jailbroke?  Has it EVER been dropped?  Did it EVER get excessively wet?  Did you EVER load a pirated developer's version of the IOS?
If "No" to all the above, first try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • What is the best touch screen display to use with a Mac mini?

Hello, forgive me I am not an expert when it comes to technology. I am thinking of changing my work computer system to a Mac mini at the moment as we have limited space and love the design of the Mac mini. We currently have an outdated dell computer linked to an ELO touch screen as part of our till system. I was just wondering if there were any recommended touch screen monitors that work well (not to much driver hassle) with the mini and are thin and easy on the eye.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Many Thanks

  • My MacBook screen is dark blue with the ball of doom what do I do.

I was using my MacBook Pro 4GB RAM using 10.5.7 (OSX) and it suddenly froze. Scared, I force shut it down by pressing the button in the top right corner of the lower part of the MacBook Pro. It did not seem to be doing anything so I closed the screen. A few minutes later I opened it back up and the screen turned a light blue then dark blue. There was also the loading ball of doom. I could not move the loading ball. Whenever I try to close the screen the light on the side of the Mac facing towards you is off. But when the dark blue screen is on its off as well. I am really confused I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

  • Screen gone black/blue with spots of color throughout.

I don't understand it. When I start up my computer, it looks all normal colors, then it just switches to a blackish/blue tint, with spots of green red on my desktop picture. My text is in white (which its set for blue). I have tried calibrating it, checked all through system preferences. Tried a few different techniques duting start up that I've read from other computers having bue tints, but nothing has worked! My extended warranty just expired 2 weeks ago. i have had the computer 3 yrs, and never had this problem before?? Help!!

    Hello,
I have had the problem, that the grafic would shift after a time of 1-2 hours using the computer. I rec. that this would a temp. problem. Because dust inside the computer reduced the effect of cooling and the temp of the grafic card would be too high.
I tried to put some sticks under the computer to give the cooling around and spec from the bottom plate, more effect. This helps. But this should not be a result for the future, only for a moment. If this helps your comp. you have to clean him inside. This is better with assistance by an expert, because the i-mac is not so easy to clean like a tower.
    Kind regards

Have you tried connecting it with an ethernet cord?  It could be a wifi issue.

  • IPod touch crashed with white screen after using Griffin TuneJuice

    Hello all,
I have an iPod touch first generation that has worked flawlessly for about 1,5 years. Recently I bought a Griffin TuneJuice (external battery) to get longer battery life. The salesperson said it should work with the Touch, and it did at first. But later on it did not charge the iPod anymore. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, restarting the iPod and so on.
Suddenly the screen of the iPod went completely white after a reboot. I can not get it to show anything anymore. I have tried resetting (holding power+home for 10 secs), reformatting and restoring, upgrading the firmware to 2.2 but none seems to work.
Googling for the problem it seems everyone who encountered this got it repaired under warranty, which is obviously not a solution for me since it's too old. So what I need to know is from a technical point of view what goes wrong when the screen is blank. The iPod seems to work otherwise (for example, it syncs perfectly with the computer and the "clicks" are playing).
I guess that something must be wrong with the firmware at a lower level than iTunes can repair. Is it possible to repair the firmware by using some lowlevel tool?
Or could this be a hardware problem (the guy in the store suggested the docking connector might have broken or short-circuited). In that case, is there any good guide on how to open and repair an iPod?
From searching different forums it seems the problem is quite common, and I hope that someone smart enough has got the problem and managed to solve it.
    Thankful for any help.

hold the power bottom and the home bottom then it will shut off after that just turn it back on ,then it should work, it may take longer than 10 seconds, you gotta be patient.. because i had the white screen and did this, hope it helps.

  • IMac 21.5 mid 2010 after tone only logo no wheel what's wrong

First I was told that the graphic card was shot by apple repair agent, or the logic board or the LCD screen. Pay my fee for the so called diagnostics.
So step 1 was thinking it could be the GC so I got one and added to the logic board. The reason why, I had the coloured line up and down the screen. I thought from windows PC's when the G/C want. Anyway Got it going with the new G/C. But the out side housing got really warm. So I shut it down and checked the installed logic board. But found nothing as I thought I had crimped a cable. All back together again and now it only boots now and again. I removed the HD and installed one other HD but now it just gives a the tone and the Apple logo only and nothing happens. I have held the option button down and what comes up on the screen is the HD with green little light on the right side front and under that is Macintosh HD. The arrow is pointing to the HD. If i click on the arrow, the screen goes back to the Apple logo again and nothing happens. O yes the HD in it now is from a 21.5 late 2009.
So should I go back add the HD that came with the iMac or buy a new HD as I am sure the way that it was starting up some times and not others.
    John

If I had a external drive I would try it. I cannot get any thing to show on the LCD screen to use Target Disk mode. It will not go into safe mode at all.
When you check the 4 led's on the logic board # 4 doesn't light up. So I went through all what it said to do and still nothing. So I decided to change the graphic card and it booted into my home page. But top side of the housing was hot. So I turned it off. checked every wire, all the connects and made sure all was okay with my eye. Tried booting again and it wouldn't. just the Apple logo and spinning wheel. Next time I tried it booted into my home page again. But this time after the gear wheel stopped I got a blue LCD screen then into my home page. next to try and start it again, Apple logo and spinning wheel only. Changed the HD but nothing now just the logo. So why am I receiving the heat. I think it is from the LED board next to the power board??????????????????????????
All the cables are in the right place and have not been pinched. So I am lost with this one. So I'll remove the HD and put back the HD that came with it.

  • Left side of screen is tinted blue

Alright, I turned my computer off for 5 days. Came back moved some things around and plugged my computer back in, suddenly half my screen is tinted blue with horizontal lines. I tried another cord to see if that was the problem. That didn't solve anything. I tried plugging my monitor into another computer that didn't fix the problem. Sucks that I can't have one HP product that can't break on me.

Sigh, can't even get help on the forums. I guess I'll just go out and get another monitor from a diffrent brand.

  • My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?

My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?
I have a two and half year mac book pro... I've had some issues with the screen looking scrambled when I quit certain applications, but now it's turned into something worse.  I'll be working on my computer and the thing will freeze.  When I force restart, the first screen, the apple logo, will be a blue tint and won't boot up normally.  Then I try safe mood and it will then boot just fine.  But there are blue stripes on my screen.  The screen alternates from a blue tint to normal and if the computer freezes again the screen will become completely blue with black stripes.  I haven't tried reinstalling my software because I don't have the startup discs that came with my computer.  If I was sure that would fix it I would purchase them, but if it's a hardware issue I'm afraid that I'm screwed.  I've been able to successfully get the blue off my screen by putting it to sleep and then waking it up, but that's not working well anymore either.
Does anyone else have experience with this?  Is it the firmware or what?  I have a MacBook Pro from early 2011 and I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    Please help... Thanks!

I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them  the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

  • What is wrong with my Macbook Pro? (distorted screen, beeping, slow)

I have a late 2012 Macbook Pro (13-inch) that I got from Best Buy. It worked perfectly fine for a year, but then went crazy.
First, it started shutting down here and there, and icons bounced a lot in the dock. Then, one day, I googled something and it froze, then flashed a strip of multicolored barcode-like lines. So, I shut it down and it overheated then began to beep 3 times and flash a light.
I brought it in and they just wiped the hard drive. Then, it happened again while I was watching a video only a short time later. I was going to re-seat the RAM myself but the inside of the computer looked all messed up. I took it in and they gave me a new LCD but it has a dead pixel now. It worked fine for 1 month after that.
Then, I was using the laptop on my bed and it shut off randomly a couple of times while I was on Facebook and started beeping. I rebooted it and tried to fix it but it happened again the next day. I brought it back to Best Buy and they said it was hot and sold me a $20 cooling pad.
That worked for a few days, then I was watching TV online and it happened again. I brought it back to Best Buy and they replaced the RAM. Now, I was watching something online and it happened yet again. I was able to reboot and it worked okay now for a couple of hours but it did freeze again and I had to shut it down.
Everytime I go to Best Buy, they tell me "If we have this issue 1 more time, we will replace your computer." But, then, they say the same thing every time and that it's their policy. I have paid for Office now and only have 1 download left. Also, this is ridiculous because I'm a student and I've had my Mac gone for 2 weeks at a time at least 3 or 4 times. When this happens, I get stuck using my iPad and can't use flash so I've spent tons of money of apps for flash and other things to make my iPad functional.
Can somebody just tell me what's wrong with it? It "passes the hardware test" every time and the Geek Squad keeps asking me stupid questions like "Did you check your internet connection and reset your modem?" When I asked them the first time to do a PRAM test, they didn't know what that was and asked me to go on iTunes or clear my cache or something like that.
I have had a bad experience with them altogether. I got my Macbook for $500 because I had a PC before that I paid $700 for and it eventually broke. They were unable to repair that one because the hard drive had failed, although they had previously been convinced that I needed to uninstall my Norton to fix that problem.
Sorry if I'm ranting, but my Macbook is like a child to me (not to sound weird) and I'm sick of this problem. It's working fine at the moment but I know this will happen again randomly like always.

If you're able to boot, launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search, and select the most recent panic log under "System Diagnostic Reports." Post the contents -- the text, please, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID” and "Kernel UUID," two long strings of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report. Please don't post "shutdownStall" or "hang" reports.
If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During startup, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
