what is the network password for the  ios7?

There is no network password! If you want to connect to a wifi hotspot which is password protected, you have to contact the administrator of the hotspot in order to learn the password. If you are the administrator, you should contact the technician who plugged in your router.if you aren't asking that, let me know so that I can help you!
    Hope I helped!

  • What's your OC doing for you?

I don't really consider myself a die-hard overclocker and although I am pleased to have a cpu that seems to have no objection to it, I am wondering as to what benefit you have found in it. Other than just the fun of tinkering and such, what is your overclock doing for you in practical terms? Is it providing the necessary fps boost in a certain game or does it cut down on your encoding time?
Please share what your benefit is!!!

    Both gaming and encoding time.
Not that I care honestly but I'm usually the 1st person in the next map of a game of BF2.  When dumping the money for these modern video cards you need a fast CPU to feed the video card info, sadly this requires a fast CPU. With the $300-400 or more spent on the video card it doesn't leave much left over for the CPU.  The OC turns the $150 CPU into a $800 dollar one.
As for encoding, every frame per sec is nice.  I use to have dual Athlon MP 2800+ CPU's on an Asus A7M266-D for it, but there weren't that many SMP apps for encoding. (Man those AMD 760 chipsets were starving the CPU for bandwidth for encoding, slow single channel DDR feeding 2 CPU's...  ) Of course as soon as I ditched it SMP has picked up steam with dual core.
I still use Intel for encoding.  P4 Prescott 2.8E at 3.3 on good ole Asus P4C800-E delx, 1GB RAM at 236Mhz, and 6 drive SCSI RAID 0.
and AMD for gaming.  Which is the MSI rig in my sig.
Finally and maybe the most important.  I get alot of the enjoyment from the OC from just doing it and hanging out with clowns like you guys  .  Been overclocking since the first Pentium's and K5's, old habits die hard and I just like pushing it.

  • What are the network requirements for the Remote Panel Server?

What are the network requirements for the Remote Panel Server?
I've been trying for a while now to setup a Remote Panel.  I can connect to my computers remote panel from other computers on my LAN but nowhere else.
When ever I use the web publishing tool it gives me a URL in this format:  http://Computer-Name.Corporate-Name.local:8086/VI-Name.html Apparently this means I have a local DNS server and this URL has no meaning from the public.
When I try connecting with the Operate>>Connect to Remote Panel..., I get this error message:
    "Connecting to remote panel server...
Remote panel connection refused by specified server: Make sure LabVIEW Web Server is enabled on specified server"
I got the same error when I tried to host a remote panel from my laptop at home, on my Wi-Fi.  Is there some network or firewall setting I'm not seting?  Could it be my server or router or private network?
My goal is to be able to host Remote Panels from my laptop while I am travailing internationally, by using 4G mobile internet.  Is that even passable?
    Solved!

    Over_Nyquest
Have you enabled the Remote Panel Server in the Web Server options on the server?

  • What is best network setting for jetpack mifi 5510l

I live in a rural area with poor signal.  No 4G and limited 3G.  We got an antenna that boosts phones from nothing or 1X one bar to 3G and 2-3 bars inside the house.  What is the best network setting for jetpack?  It doesn't seem to work as well.
Automatic and 4g don't work.  I don't know what CDMA Auto or EDVO stand for.
Any suggestions for improving strength would be appreciated.  I know I won't get a great connection but a steady connection sure would be great.

    > What is the best network setting for jetpack?
Not sure what you mean.  The jetpack will automatically configure itself to whatever signal it currently has access to.  Shouldn't have to configure any network settings.
    > I don't know what CDMA Auto or EDVO stand for.
Those are the old 3G networks.
    > Any suggestions for improving strength would be appreciated.
Perform what is known as a Site Survey and evaluate your current environment:
    http://3gstore.com/page/13_will_an_antenna_help_me.html
After you generate some numbers then look up what they mean in the Interpret the Results tab.  You mentioned that you already purchased an antenna so there may not be anything else you can do as the local towers in your area are not good enough to reach inside your home.

  • What is preferred network type for droid razr m

my phone is currently only using 3G instead of 4G...my connection is very poor and/or i get errors showing I am no longer signed into network.
What is the network type I am supposed to be using? What happened to my service connection?

Try setting the network type to LTE/CDMA.  You can also try removing the SIM, power down the phone, resinsert the SIM and then power the phone back up.

  • Advice needed: what does your company log for SAP security role changes?

My client has a situation where for many years, they never logged changes to SAP security roles.  By that I mean, they never logged even basic details, like who requested a change, tested it, approved it, and what changed!!  Sadly their ticketing system is terrible, completely free-form text and not even searchable.
Does anyone here use Word docs, Excel sheets, or some other way to capture security role change details?   What details do you capture?  What about Projects, that involve dozens of changes and testing over several months?
I plan to recommend, at least, they need to use a unique# (a ticket#, or whatever) for every change and update the same in PFCG role desc tab, plus in CTS description of transports... but what about other details, since they have a bad ticketing system?  I spoke with internal audit and change Mgmnt "manager" about it, and they are clueless and will not make recommendations.  It's really weird but they will get into big trouble eventually without any logs for security changes!

Does anyone here use Word docs, Excel sheets, or some other way to capture security role change details? What details do you capture? What about Projects, that involve dozens of changes and testing over several months?
    I have questions:
    a) Do you want to make things straight
    b) Do you want to implement a versioning mechanism
    c) You cannot implement anything technical, but you`re asking about best "paper" practise?
The mentioned scenarios can be well maintained if you use SAP GRC Solutions 10 (Business Role Management)
Task Based, Approvals, Risk Analysis, SOD and role generation and maintenance in a structured way (Business Role Management). Workflow based, staged process with approvals.
PFCG transaction usage will be curtailed to minimum if implemented fully.
Do we really want to do things "outside" PFCG?
    @all:
    a) do you guys use custom approval workflows for roles?
    b) how tight your processes are? how much paperwork, workflow, tickets, requests and incidents you have to go through to change a role?
    c) who is a friend of GRC here, raise your hand
    Cheers Otto
p.s.: very interesting discussion, I would like to learn something here about how it works out there in the wild

  • What is your export process for printing custom-sized books?

I will be printing my first custom-sized book created in Aperture.
Anyone have much experience doing this?
I am assuming that exporting to pdf and then sending that file to print is the process, but I'm wondering if the compression will affect the image quality enough to be concerned for a 9''x9'' book?

    Lots of experience here.
I outsource albums either as single page or double spread. Unfortunately Aperture only allows single page export, not as a full spread (required by some printers).
Unfortunately the Export options are a little limited, so read on
If you click on the Print button for your custom sized book, you'll get a dialog. Choose the PDF button at the bottom and a bunch of options will appear.
If you just want to export a proof for a client to review, you can select Save PDF to Aperture. The files will import as 200dpi JPEGs / TIFFs depending upon the option you choose. You can then export to a sharing service / web album etc.
If you want to export at a different dpi then DON'T choose the Save PDF to folder as JPEG option... again you'll get just 200dpi images. So what you can do is choose the Save as PDF option. When you choose that it will export the whole book as single pages in a PDF, with the embedded JPEGs (fully quality jpeg 12) at 350dpi (I know as I've checked this)....
You can then do 2 things:
    1. For services that require a single pages, run an automator action to run through the PDF and export the images at your desired DPI and change the colour profile (eg sRGB). Your images are then exported to the same folder. Here's the action: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/117989/Save%20PDF%20to%20Folder%20as%20JPEG.zip
    2. For services that require a double page spread instead, run an automator action to run through the PDF, change the colour profile and DPI and then import to Aperture.
What I do is have an entirely separate project called Album Proofs and import all images into there. When the action runs, it will ask where to put the images - place them in Album Proofs. I then have a custom book size that is twice the width of the album you are creating (e.g. if making a 12x9, the size is 24x9) with no margins or spacing. Then create a template album (you can reuse by right clicking and selecting Duplicate Book) that has two images per page, each image taking up EXACTLY half of the page (again no margins or spacing). I then drag the images I imported into this template, then auto-fill unplaced images. Your images are then layed out as spreads... So now what you do is re-export using the Save as PDF print option. Then run the action described in 1 above.
Here's the action: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/117989/Save%20PDF%20to%20Aperture%20as%20JPEG.zip . If it doesn't work use the other action above and just import manually.
    Hope this helps

  • What kind of network required for SMS?

Hi everybody, I have a question concerning SMS:
I travel a lot, and SMS is THE way of keeping communication affordable, and it normally works via the normal mobile network incurring just limited charges.
Just now I read somewhere between the lines of some posts, that the iphone needs the EDGE-network for SMSing. That would be a huge disappointment, probably able to keep me from buying the phone, as it would mean that
    1. in countries with no EDGE network there's no SMS using the iphone at all
    2. in foreign countries where there is, it would require data roaming, causing significant charges, making an SMS pointless.
Can anyone please confirm true or false?
    Thanks!

What you have been told is simply not true: SMS is a voice—rather than data—service and standard voice plans support the transmission and reception of short message service messages across most carrier networks. You do not need an optional data plan or access to a data medium such as EDGE to send and receive these messages.
Some plans bundle a defined number of transmissions and receptions into a monthly voice plan fee. Options for additional included SMS messages or unlimited messaging are widely available.

  • Going Live this week with ELQ/SRM. What's your #1 advice for success?

Thanks for responding to help our Go Live a success!

You and everyone else that takes the time to read, and understand what I said, and can benefit from this, is WELCOME! ; )
By the way, I forgot to mention. I use "Micon" a little terrific freeware program (from VersionTracker) to make (initialize) my custom icons. I also use Graphic Converter to make my own original icons of anything I like. Don't underestimate the value in making your own custom icons-- they really stand out from the "standard old blue".

  • What has your network waited to do until you've gone on vacation?

I lost *2* disks from a RAID 10 array - luckily it was a 14 disk array and they were not part of the same pairing. Although, that was just a day trip to San Antonio, for work, not really a vacation.
The most grievous thing that has happened when I've been on vacation was a power outage at a branch office and I kept getting calls and voicemails wanting to know if they could go buy a UPS and run off that while they waited for the power to come back on....

It always seems like things on my network wait to break until I'm out of reach.
    The latest event:
After just leaving for vacation I got a call from some of my sysadmins that the phone system had gone down. About to get on a 6-hour plane ride to Hawaii I walked them through the troubleshooting steps to attempt to resolve it.
The solution? One of the modules had died and we needed a new one ordered overnight. Luckily my crew was able to install it without me being there, but it definitely put a knot in my stomach for the entire trip. "What else is going to go wrong?"
What disasters seem to have waited until you went on vacation to occur?

  • What's your external drive for iTunes storage?

    I have a portable SmartDisc 60gig FireLight .
It's firewire powered so it goes to sleep with the eMac . It works great but I need something bigger and I guess the desktop drives that cost less are AC powered ?
I didn't like the Maxtor OneTouch III and returned it . The backup software that I guess I didn't need is uninstallable .
    this was on an archived thread ;
Most external hard drives come with fans. I suggest anything from LaCie, SmartDisk, or Western Digital
I suggest LaCie D2 Hard Drive Extreme w/ Triple Interface, SmartDisk CrossFire, or the WD Dual Option.
I use a SmartDisk CrossFire for both my iTunes library as well as my iPhoto library. If you need help moving your iTunes library you might want to look at Knowledge Base Document #301748 explains How to Move Your iTunes Library.
Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Panther eMac

I have a LaCie D2 extreme triple interface and am happy with it. it is well built in a metal casing and came ready formatted for mac so really was just a case of plugging in and going. It also runs off the mains. It has not caused any problems so far. I bought the 160G version because at the time it was all I needed but I would recommend getting the biggest you can afford as it it is more cost effective than having to buy yet another one when you run out of space as I almost have. You never actually get the ammount of free space as the description lets you believe you are getting. eg my 160G actually gave me 147G of free space straight from the box. The only other thing i would have liked is a minimum of two firewire 400 ports as the one gets used up connecting to my macbook leaving nothing with which to daisy chain any other devices.

  • What's your game plan for tomorrow?

How are you going about getting the iPad 2 tomorrow or are you waiting a few days after the rush dies down?
I want to get mine from Sams and im not sure yet if my location will have it tomorrow so I'll have to wait and see but hubby will be picking mine up for me sometime in the next 2 weeks, hopefully sooner.

The increased speed and decreased thickness are nice but not worth the price to me. I have zero interest in the cameras.
Sort of feel the same way. I don't use the camera in the iPod Touch that my wife bought me for Xmas. The 2's look cool and the increased speed would nice.
Over the past week or so - as I've been following some these threads - I almost feel as though I'm back in high school and all the gang is trying to coordinate weekend plans - like well I just talked to Susie and Johnnie and they aren't going the dance until 10:00, but like I was really thinking like maybe we should get there early and like maybe we should go later but like what are you going to wear and like I'm bringing my ... and on and on and on....
I understand the excitement to a point, but for me the whole experience has been so high school! MaybeI I'm just too old and grouchy now. If I decide to purchase the iPad2, I'm betting they will still be available next week and the week after ....

  • What's your favorite case for the MacBook

I normally use Brenthaven cases for my Apple laptops. I am just curious what anyone else uses for their MacBook. I'm looking for more than just a sleeve-type case. I would like to get a good, snug fitting case with some room for storage.
    Thanks.

I use a combination of the Incase neoprene sleeve (black with lime green interior) and the STM Medium Loft bag.
The sleeve is a very good fit and offers good scratch protection for the money. But be sure to remove the little badge from the inside to avoid it scratching the lid, awful idea sewing it inside there.
The more observant amongst you will notice that the Medium Loft bag is designed for the MacBook Pro, i.e. 15.4" screens, but after testing on the display model in the store, the larger bag fits the MacBook much better when inside a sleeve. It's a tight fit getting the MacBook into the Small Loft (13" version) with a sleeve on also. Check out www.standardtm.com.au
The sleeve is available on the Apple store, but although Apple do stock STM bags, I was unable to get this particular one on the store and had to purchase elsewhere.
My two cents. (Or pence, rather.)
