they both produce exact quality pictures there is no difference but
1) n958gb pictures may look blurry because of dirt and finger prints as there is NO lens protection
2) Autofocus in night mode is back in v15 software for n95 8gb
If you want to buy phone for camera then i'd say n95-1
As lens protection is a MUST

When you intend to save a website on a CD you have to publish to a folder on your desktop first.
iWeb creates an index.html file and a folder, or more folders, with your Site name(s).
Check that you've done that.
The index.html file and these folders you copy to the CD.
You either open the index.html file in your browser or one of the webpages inside the Site folder.
And yes, MSIE does not play nice. That's not iWeb faults.
And use websafe fonts. Or make sure the fonts you use on your Mac are also on the PC. Otherwise a substitute font will be used.
And viewing webpages from a folder is no guarantee for succes. Webpages are designed to be viewed thru a webserver. So use Personal Webserver or publish them anyway.

Is there a way to record whats on your computer screen without a camera?

I have to do an assignment and it require me to insert a video of youtube onto a powerpoint presentation. I was unsure of what programs to use for this so i thought that there might be away to film my computer while i watch the yourtube video. What is your view of regularly (weekly) running maintenance utilities/programs

I’m getting mixed messages on whether its necessary to run maintenance utilities/programs as a protective agent or only if something goes wrong. I was told by Micromat that I should run Techtools Pro 6 weekly especially on the volume rebuild and the Cocktail people told me I should run their program at least weekly to keep my iMac clean, efficient and prevent trouble. I’ve had others, such as Dave Nanian, the maker of SuperDuper that he only runs say Disk Warrior if there’s a problem. I don’t want to do something that is unnecessary and may cause potential problems if its not necessary but if there’s value in it I certainly don’t mind.
I just like to get some feedback from other Mac users.

Thanks. Yes SuperDuper saved my bacon on more than one occassion. Last week I was running Techtools Pro, which I had used for ten years and the final thing I went to run, Volume Rebuild, completely blew my drive. I had to do a complete reformat and I decided to get rid of TTP’s edrive so I just created one partition and cloned my system back from SuperDuper. Whew! It works perfectly now. However, after last weeks incident I’m nervous to run these things especially TTP as they are aware of this problem in 6 cases but they don’t know what’s causing it. I said but your software is meant to prevent and help us recover from a fatal disk error and it couldn’t the destruction was so severe. The disk was renamed disks07 and it sure was no longer bootable.

I shall be visiting Albania in October. I want to take my Apple Macbook Pro with me but am advised to use a Line/Power Conditioner due to fluctuating electricity. What is your view and what do you recommend? Many thanks in advance.

Many thanks for your speedy response. First of all, I must point out that I'm a Brit and a technophobe. This may explain my possibly foolish questions and answers. I don't need a voltage converter but do need some kind of surge protector. I've lived in India so have experienced first hand the devastating impact of fluctuating electricity. I said I needed a line conditioner because according to the recommended guide book: "The electricity supply in Albania is theoretically 220 volts AC. In practice it is often very much lower. Laptop batteries are usually resilient enough to cope with power spikes, but if you are travelling with sensitive equipment which could be damaged by voltage surges or brownouts, you should obtain a line conditioner......." I checked on google and two recommended ones were APC Surgearrest 3020J and Tripp-Lite SK 12OUSB. I don't remember seeing Targus, Belkin or Kensington mentioned. What I'm really looking for is a good efficient one which is small enough to carry with me on any trip to a country with a dicy electricity supply. The price is less important. As you rightly said, it's important not to cut corners with electricity. My main concern is protecting my UK bought Mac. I'd be really grateful for your advice. I don't have a clue what to buy. It's a great idea to go ahead and roll out any of the Fusion Middleware products (including FI). By doing this you not only move towards a more SOA-based architecture but you are also preparing your environment for Fusion APPLICATIONS which are built on the Fusion Middleware tech stack.
By going ahead and using Fusion Middleware, your transition to Fusion Apps (if you so choose to move in that direction) will be a lot easier.

points. Should I put this into Excel? There are no cursors, or zoom
capabilities, and so on in Excel.
Using a graph in LV is very slow when loaded down with this much data.
Frankly a scope is easier for viewing waveforms. A scopelike utility
for Windows?

Is there any neat shareware out there?

There are a large number of analysis packages on the market that can display very large datasets. The one to choose depends largely on the nature of the data and what you want to do with it after you have loaded it in. Wandering down the software aisle at your local Staples you will find at least two or three.
With datsets the size you are contemplating, a major feature to look for is a zoom function that initially shows the entire waveform but lets you narrow in on the data you want to see.
DIGRESSION ALERT
Actually, this sort of algorithm isn't to hard to code. I wrote a viewer once that allowed you to view datasets of arbitrarily large size (in V3 I think... though it may have been in V4). The code initally presented an overview of the entire dataset
by decimating it down to a size that LV could display rapidly. As the user zoomed in using the cursors (not LV's graph zoom) the code would extract the selected portion of the data, redecimate it if necessary and redraw the display. (Which by the way is all the fancy packages really do anyway.)
The tricky part is selecting a decimation function that retains the overall shape of the data.

USB Mass Storage is the possibility to use your phone as a simple flash memory without the need of any additional drivers and apps, just plug it to you PC and write/read/copy the data.
UPnP is a something like a Wi-Fi protocol which allows u to view you images or listen to music on a compatible devices (PC, TV, music centers etc) over the air.

Time for me to weigh in, and like GeraldRose, I have way too many to list, so I will explain why I like them so much!
Superbad - I also find this to be one of the funniest movies I have ever encountered. To top it off, I know a dude irl (well from online) who looks totally like McLovin. Classic.
The Changeling (1980) - Good, older creepy movie. George C. Scott delivers a sharp performance as a man entangled in a mystery that truly affects his life. One of the few movies as a kid that scared the dickens out of me, without showing anything really.
Say Anything - I am a hard core John Cusack fan, and I loved him as Lloyd Dobler in this movie. It also was my introduction to Lili Taylor, who I came to adore in later roles. This might seem like a teenage love movie, but it is so much more. I highly recommend!
Dogfight - The late River Phoenix and Lili Taylor are a delight in this film. Set in the 60's Phoenix plays a marine on weekend leave, who is on a mission to find the ugliest date for a contest with his fellow servicemen - a "Dogfight". He stumbles upon Rose, (Taylor) who is not exactly how he first assesses her. A bittersweet love story.
The Princess Bride - Robin Wright Penn, Mandy Patinkin, Carey Elwes, and Billy Crystal are just a few of the stars in this crowd pleaser. It follows the story of Buttercup and her love for Westley. This is not your traditional love story, but full of laughs and action!
Empire Records - A genuinely guilty pleasure, full of great music and laughs. Rory Cochranes turn as Lucas is brilliant. Also, one of my other faves Ethan Embry (then Ethan Randall) makes the role of Mark his own. First thing that I ever saw Seth Green in...he cracks me up.

G10 Aperture RAW conversion: what are your impressions?

When you compare photos that were photographed at ISO 100 they all do a good job. When you stat going up in the ISO is where I think Aperture does a great job. I've attached a screen capture of the same photos processed with 3 different applications. No adjustments were added to the photos. The default settings were used then the photo was passed on to photoshop as a Tiff. I think it's clear why I don't like ACR. Aperture and DPP are much closer. DPP has some noise reduction on by default so the photo looks like it has less noise then Aperture. I feel that the default noise reduction just makes the photo look a little soft and out of focus. If I turn off the default noise reduction in DPP the photo looks noisy. So I like Aperture better because of the way the noise looks, the sharpness and detail of the photo. Another area to look at is the neck and chest area. Aperture holds the most amount of detail before blowing out. I know that all 3 programs have adjustments that will help fix the problems in the photo. Even after doing that to the photo in all 3 programs I still felt that Aperture was clearly better. As the previous poster said it is subjective to each persons taste.

What is your theory on what happened with ASUS Transformer Prime and BB?

This is my theory:
First preorder batch 11/22:
BB opened up for preorders based on expected date of anticipated 12/9 ship date. The buyers at BB that orders from vendors did not buy any preorder stock from ASUS in Champagne on first order. I gotta bleive that the reason that the Champagne prime is not shipping from BB is a "buyer" error. They filled their first allotment of preorders. That is why BB shiped out grey from the first wave of preorders. Other vendors got both- why did BB only get grey? The buyers always think they know what we want or will order and only ordered grey in the request to ASUS. They got caught with their pants down when Amazon cancelled the orders on 12/2 and EVERYONE affected jumped on BB.com and ordered the champagne which was available as the next wave.
Amazon fallout 12/2:
Best buy opened up another set of preorder allotment - 2nd wave, and got hit hard real fast with preorders that they were not prepared for, or had stock for.
ASUS is filling initial preorder requests from the resellers in the order that the resellers requested too. BB was offering that in the next wave of preorders, but they probably took too many orders at once, and they put in another order to ASUS around the 12/9 delay ship date and ASUS was not taking them at that time (delays due to Wifi reported) .
ASUS 12/9 wifi report delay in shiping:
ASUS was cought in a delay with reports of wifi range problems and either stopped taking orders, or recallled/replaced shipment with others. Once ASUS took orders again from the reseller they are shipping daily based on the preorder backlog. Asus is responsible for the delay in accepting orders from vendors, and BB had a buyer error, by either waiting too long to put in the first wave of orders, or not ordering enough, and now they are in the back of the vendor reseller line waiting on ASUS to get to them.
12/19:
The date of irst ship came and BB shipped all it ordered from first wave and could not get anymore from ASUS in the second wave to cover the Amazon fallout system overload. They were left in the back of the line of all other vendors becuse no reseller could get a second next wave fulfillment until all others got their first waves fulfilled. The 12/9 delay kept next waves from being fulfilled, and that is why inventory is trickling into the other resellers and BB can only get a few more at a time. BB ordered champagne on a next wave delay.
The thing that bugs me in to no end is how is a person that ordered grey on 11/28 at BB still on backorder, but a 12/05 grey order has shipped and delivered?? This is not ASUS fault, That is poor business operations on BB.
That is my "perfect storm" theory- what do you think? What is your theory?

That is pretty close to what I think happened.
It does seem pretty clear that Best Buy never initially ordered and Champagne Primes. I have combed through the threads at this site and others and haven’t seen one person receive a Champagne Prime from BB. Meanwhile people who bought from other resellers like New Egg and Amazon have received Champagne Primes.
The mismanagement of shipping out orders chronologically has to be maddening for the people who ordered the Grey Primes. I do feel for these people that ordered the same exact product before others who now have their Prime, but will still don’t have their items.
The communication from Best Buy had been terrible. Screwing up the orders in the 2 examples are somewhat forgivable to me, but the miscommunication and what seems to be deceitfulness that Best Buy has exhibited is not. They just seem not to care about the customer any more. From my experience, prior to the release I was lead to believe my order would be ready to ship on 12/18. Then it went on backorder with no real reason why. Two (12/18 and 12/22) of three calls to customer service reps indicated that my Champagne Prime would still arrive by today (12/23), with the other call rep (12/20) saying she basically had no when my item would be in. Then yesterday afternoon a post from a customer care rep on these boards confirming that I am basically hosed because I choose BB to fulfill my Prime preorder.
