What isoffline distribution and online distribution is there any difference

Dear Guru's,
What is offline distribution and online distribution is there any difference.
Regards,
Srinivasan.

Hi Srinivasan
with offline distribution, you can enable user with no connection to BPC to use BPC Reports and Inputschedules.
This is very usefull if, for example, you have users that need to key in data but you dont want them to have access to the BPC System. In this case you can generate Inputschedules for different Entities, send them to the users and upload the files with the new figures nearly automatically (see Offline Distribution Wizard).
"Online" means that the user has to log on to the System by Citrix/TerminalServer or local client and has to be defined in the BPC security.

    Is there any difference between an unlocked Iphone sold in australia and the USA and if I bought one from the USA what would I have to do to use it.

    An unlocked phone is an unlocked phone.  It's sold without a SIM card.  You have to get a SIM card from the carrier you want to use, with an account set up, insert the SIM and activate the phone in iTunes.
    Unlocked phones sold by the USA online Apple store can only be shipped to a US address and paid for by a US credit card
    The only difference between an officially unlocked iPhone sold in the US and Australia is the warranty.  The warranty is valid only in the country of sale.  If you buy the phone in the US and return to Australia, if it breaks you have to ship it to a US resident who will get it to Apple and return it to you.  It can't be shipped direct in either direction.

  • Anyone know what this is and qwhy it is there?

    Just curious if anyone knows what this is and why it is there? I have deleted all slide objects and this little text caption symbol is there.
    It does not show up in publishing, but can't figure out why it is there.

    I believe it's a Text Caption placeholder object.
    Double-click beside the symbol and you should go into text edit mode for the placeholder.

  • Are there any difference between iPhone 4S and iPhone 5? What are they?

    What I already know is that iPhone 5 has a larger screen and is slimmer, but are there any difference between the two.  I have iPhone 4S now, should I buy iPhone 5?

    There are a number of major differences between iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, the major one being the processor speed.  iPhone 5 has a much faster processor – two times faster than the processor in iPhone 4S.  This difference is only significant if you use your phone to play high graphics games that require a lot of processing power.  This processing speed also makes the applications load and run faster – iPhone 5 even boots in a shorter time than iPhone 4S.  You can use iPhone 4S comfortably now but when games and graphic apps designed for iPhone 5 are released, you may be forced to upgrade your phone to run the smoothly.

    Is there any differences between a iPod nano 1st gen usb cable and a iPhone 3G  usb cable? thanks

    Yes you have a one year warranty from the date of purchase from Apple. Go to this link and on the bottom right hand side it will ask you to enter your serial number and will tell you if you are still under warranty. http://www.apple.com/support/
    If you are you can take it to a Apple store, or request service online here http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
    If it is out of warranty you can google a third party service provider and get it serviced out of warranty. There are two that I know of that provide free diagnostic service. You only pay for shipping and they will tell you what is wrong and what it will cost to fix. They are ifixipodsfast.com and ipodmods.com but there are others also (I just have no experience with them) Good luck and as was stated it should charge from your usb. and just for grins, look at the docking connector on your ipod and see if there is any obstruction that is obvious.

  • The MacBook Pro will not allow me to cut-and-paste to and from or to click-and-drag to the external drive. I can copy-and-paste, but then I must send the original to the trash, which doubles the time and effort. Is there any way to cut-and-paste?

    I have recently switched from a PC to a MacBook Pro.
    I have a large number of documents and photographs on a multiterrabite external drive, backed up on a second multiterrabite external drive.
    Both external drives are formatted for MacIntosh. This has been verified by agents at an Apple store and also at Best Buy in two different cities.
    This is the problem:
    The MacBook Pro will not allow me to cut-and-paste to and from or to click-and-drag to the external drive. I can copy-and-paste, but then I must send the original to the trash, which doubles the time and effort. Is there any way to cut-and-paste?
    Also, the MacBook Pro will not allow me to rename multiple documents or photographs. I can click-and-rename a single one, but this is impossibly time consuming. I can batch-rename in iPhoto, but when I transfer the photographs to the external drive, the rename does not transfer.
    I’m reduced to using my wife’s Toshiba to cut-and-past, rename, and transfer documents. It works perfectly. Is there any way to do this on the MacBook Pro?
    Thanks!

    No, this is a philosophical difference between Apple and Microsoft. Apple believes that it's dangerous to cut a file in case the user never pastes it; in that case the file is lost. Microsoft seems to not have this problem (if I remember Windows correctly) because they don't delete the originating file if it's cut but never pasted.
    Even though Macs have a lot of keyboard shortcuts, philosophically Macs have traditionally been mouse-first. This applies to file copy operations. In your case, what a Mac user would do is open the source window, open the destination window (on your second drive), and then Command-drag the selected files from the source to destination window. This is because a normal drag would leave the originals behind, while adding the Command modifier key tells OS X that this is a Move, not a Copy, so don't leave the originals behind.
    (In addition there are different rules for drag-copying within the same volume or between different volumes. If you drag between two folders on the same volume, the files are moved. If you drag between different volumes, the files are copied unless you hold down Command to delete the copies on the source volume.)

    Two problems in this case. First, batch file renaming is not built into OS X unless you build something with Automator. However, there are many utilities that can do batch file renaming which you can find at macupdate.com or on the App Store. Since I work with media I often batch rename using one of the media managers I have lying around like Media Pro or Adobe Bridge (comes with Photoshop).
    iPhoto is a database front end designed to shield the file system from the consumer and let them concentrate on creativity and sharing. As such it is often a poor choice for managing files directly. When you "transferred the photographs" chances are you moved the originals, not the ones iPhoto edited which are stored in a hidden folder.

    There will not be a way to do it exactly like Windows. As described above, there are ways to do it "the Mac way." If it is possible to remove judgment on which way is "better" you might find the Mac way to be acceptable, but of course sometimes we simply prefer what we're used to.

    My wife and I each have an Apple account, and we each have an iPad and iPhone.  Is there any way for us to sync our calendars so that each of our appointments are on all devises?

    This may not be exactly what you are looking for but my wife and I have a similar situation and all we do is invite each other to any calendar stuff we both need to know about. Another way you could do it is us a 3rd party calendaring that will duplicate all your entries on their server and your wife would do the same and setup a single account with that service that you both attach to your built in calendaring provided you give proper permissions. The one I would try is google calendaring which works well if you have a gmail account.

  • Is there any difference in quality between mp4 and m4v?

    Is there any difference in quality between mp4 and m4v? I am figuring out how best to save old VCR files. Is the 264 category the best?

    So, what would that software be? Anything that I mentioned, e.g., iMovie? Any Video Converter?
    I'm a Mac user so I want files that play "natively" in QT X, QT 7, QL, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, and/or TV players. This means I want the H.264/AAC compressed data in MOV, MP4, or M4V file containers. I can use QT 7 Pro, MPEG Streamclip, and /or QT X to move MPEG-4/AAC compressed data to MOV file containers, MPEG Streamclip to movie M4V and MOV MPEG-4/AAC data to MP4 file containers, and Subler to move MP4 or MOV MPEG-4 AVC/AAC/AC3/Chapter data to M4V file containers. This is strictly a simple "copy" operation and no recompression of data is involved. (I.e., the quality is not changed.)
    iMovie is a video editor and it forces an export conversion of your project once completed which can degrade quality. Have never used the Any Video Converter so I don't know if it has an audio and/or video "passthrough" feature for data already in a compatible compression formats. If it doesn't then any conversion it makes has the potential to degrade video content.
    As to AVI, this is a legacy file container abandoned by Microsoft a dozen years ago in favor of their modernized WMV compression format/file type products. Compared to MKV, AVI is an outmoded/out-of-date container which I don't recommend you use unless you are a glutton for punishment. However, if you must use it, then you might try the AvidMux app. It can "copy" compatible content to a number of file container types—including AVI and MKV. Just don't blame me if its use creates more problems than it solves on current Mac systems.

  • Is there any difference between "jsp:useBean" and "scriptlet" ?

    A few days ago, I asked similar question. But I didn't get the answer I wanted.
    I want to know the differnce between <jsp:useBean../> and <% .. %>(scriptlet).
    I tested in three environments(Oracle Jserv, OC4J, and Apache Tomcat).
    In Oracle Jserv and OC4J, a problem occured. But, Apache Tomcat does not occur a problem.
    For example,
    1) TestClass.java (Bean)
    public class TestClass {
    private String txt;
    public class TestClass {
    txt = "Test"; ----- (g
    public String getTxt() {
    return txt;
    2) test.jsp
    <html><body>
    <% TestClass test = new TestClass(); %> ---(h
    <%= test.getTxt() %>
    </body></html>
    Assume that I visit "http://localhost:8888/test.jsp".
    In Tomcat, if I change "Test"(number(g) to "Test1" and compile the browser shows the change.
    But Oracle Jserv and OC4J does not do that. They also show the old String.
    So, I changed <% TestClass test = new TestClass(); %>(number(h) to <jsp:useBean id="test" class="TestClass" />. That is, I changed "Scriptlet" to "JSP useBean Tag".
    Then, Oracle Jserv and OC4J also show the changes.
    To conclude, is there any difference between "JSP useBean Tag" and "Scriptlet"?
    Can't I use a scriptlet (to make a class) in Oracle Servlet Engine?
    Thanks.

    It could be as simple as the JSP not recompiling between java recompiles - ie, it compiles in the link to the old class.
    Try changing the JSP file (add and delete a space) after you change the java code, and then see what happens.

  • Are there any differences between black and white?

    Hi, this is the question:
    Are there any differences between a black and a white macbook (2,0 Ghz) except the coulor? I am thinking about buying a macbook but i dont know really what to do
    Coul someone help me plz?

    This page explains the differences between the two white macbooks and the black mac book: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/0.RSLID?mco=A 4791B5D&nclm=MacBook
    It should answer any questions you have about all three.
    The lowest price macbook has a less fast processor, and the same size hard drive as the middle priced macbook. The lowest priced one also does not have a DVD burner while the middle priced white one does and the black one.
    The black macbook has a bigger harddrive then the middle priced macbook and thats about all thats different between the middle priced white one and the black one.

  • Is there any difference between an unlocked and sim free iPhone?

    Is there any difference between an unlocked and sim free iPhone?

    I think in the context you're using, they are pretty much the same thing. The only carrier on the planet as of this writing with the CDMA iPhone, which does not use SIM cards AT ALL, is Verizon in the U.S.
    There is a difference between an unlocked iPhone and an iPhone sold without a contract, but still locked to a carrier.
    This list details all of the currently supported iPhone carriers. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937
    Some carriers sell phones that are NOT carrier locked (i.e. SIM FREE). Some sell locked phones, but offer unlocking services for their subscribers. In SOME countries, unlocked phones can be purchased directly from Apple. Apple also sells locked phones, that do not require a term commitment with the carrier at what is usually the same price as an unlocked phone.

Is there any way to send text messages to people and contacts that do not have iphones such as friends with blackberrys or a samsung galaxy smartphone from this ipad. Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?
