What iWeb can do is a lot

Question

Thought I would offer my site as humble proof that iWeb can be customized as much as you want.

Oh, and I have never done a website before, do not know html, did the site while learning the software, did not use any other software save for Photoshop, and did it in 3 days. Futzing around, adding and basically playing with it, that took longer. The only major crisis during the development was when I discovered that it would make Internet Explorer crash. Scoured this discussion group and managed to fix that. Have to thank you guys for all the help.

I asked my staff to remember which pages were crashing. I remembered that the dotted line has been identified as a culprit and noticed that the pages that crashed had dotted lines. I initially thought that, as mentioned somewhere, as long as the lines do not cross anything else, the page would be stable enough for IE. That didn't seem to work.
To be on the safe side -- and as a design principle I wanted to follow, I decided not to use lines at all.
To separate sections, I decided to use lightly tinted backgrounds and boxes unbound by lines.
I tried to add an animated gif, a series of pictures of the office that would change every so often, but I discovered that iWeb has trouble loading other stuff if something is still loading, which is what an animated gif does: constantly load. Which is a lesson for anything I want to do in the future. So I ditched that, too.
Living with the limitations (which I think Apple should be able to solve soon enough), I think the site is good enough. Having people on IE giving me feedback was a real blessing. It sped up the task of isolating the problem pages.
